he was the perfect fit for dream theater, ya fuck off everyone who says otherwise and i don't mind it being every one else, dominci owned in the Killing hand and labrie tried to
@Nekuriddo I personally haven`t listened to Dominici live nor Dream Theater but sometimes James Labrie just can`t keep up with the rest of the band. Most of the records require an incredible pitch range that Labrie mastered when he was younger. Now his voice sounds more mature, but doesn`t keep up anymore. I don`t think he EVER wondered if he will be able to play that live.
@Gaudamn I both like Charlie Dominici and James Labrie because they played an important role in Dream Theater. Each has its own style and his own pitch range. I guess it was hard to James Labrie to sing Charlie Dominici`s vocals and this is clearly audible on the record with James Labrie.
Another great specialist against the philosophy of Jimi Hendrix....Using maximum level of gain with many other effects and playing very easy amatorish old italian barock music licks in a very very fast tempo for fascinating teenagers....This is a good music for the publicum/audiance from the only concert of Hendrix in Zurich...Is there anyone there who red the english version of Hendrix biography by Eddie Cramer?
he is so collected...I like his approach, especially syncopic style that really stands out to my taste. He definitely is not trying to go for overkill but he lets us know "Hey, I could do much more but not here, not now." Can't wait for future projects!
well said brother.. he's so collective and calm.. less showing off but focuses more on the complexity of the song. showing us and give us the idea of what this kind of complex song structure could do to our self and how does it feel.
Mailard is one of the guys Petrucci will pass the torch too. Someone to take Johns unique style and evolve it. Much the same many have done to the other greats. Brian is amazing!
This guy is the one and only clone of Petrucci. I think that as he grows older he will be even on par with Petruccis stuff, although he does imitate Petrucci alot.
So true. 03 is a fucking masterpiece. Systematic Chaos is good, but there are songs on there I skip. Not on 03... or 02 for a matter. 01 was boring on most songs.
@Stivenson180192 melody and speed got Yngwie ...so that make him bather then Petrucci?...no....
there is ...so much guitarist... he is one of the best...but u can't say the best in the world....what is Hendrix then...Page...Blackmore.....and...much more...
@666Vlada666 yeah ya can. But in reality there is always someone better, its just someone who really likes petrucci, John Petrucci in my favorite guitarist, he is well rounded and can play any type of music at the drop of a hat.
@alzico yeah, it's quite extensive riff but it kicks ass. The change innto a different rythm right after that sounds little flat but than the song recovers from that little blunder. nevertheless, excpet the riff, this is probably one of the weaker tracks on this album, even though it offers amazing skill. But arrangements are not so fluid. Don't get me wrong, I like Dominici a lot.
I don`t know nothing about this man.he plays like J.Petrucci, it´s similar style.clear, fast, all,I like too. what do you think about? thank`s ......Santy
Honestly, I think they're both great guitarists. I prefer Petrucci a bit more though, but that's probably because I'm biased, and I liked DreamTheater first.
Brian is a great guitarist Dominici and Dream Theater are at the same level both have their own things and both sound great Brian is a genius as well as ofcourse the great John Petrucci:D
I think that Michael Romeo, Brian Maillard and John Petrucci are all really amazing. I dont think they should be compared cos they r all amazing, and each have their own unique things which make them cool
I think he is different from Petrucci and extremely proficient as a player very precise Petrucci and Maillard can do each others things and both are very skilled not comparison please.
i think it's quite ironic that petrucci is one of his biggest influences, and he sounds just like him. maybe thats why charlie picked him to be guitarist in his new band.
Great, good technique, good tone etc. But it sound a bit like Dream Theater on the overall techniques, orchestrations and dynamics of the band. Brian's technique is flawless very articulate and clean. Overall great stuff keep up the good work.

Fucking awesome. Sounds like John Petrucci. He'll get there one day, he already has the tone.
I don't think Petrucci will teach him how to play 5 billion bpm though.
