i dont know about the porsche, but at 70kmh, the vette is below its power curve. A stock Z06 will get to 60mph in 1st gear, in a 70kmp roll race, the vette shouldve been in first and not second gear. That would have put the vette in its sweet spot at the moment the race started

Race conditions? How about that it was so hot that at 205*F, a stock tuned Z06 drops about 25rwhp from timing alone. It has been tested and documented.

I hate using magazine tests but look at the mph difference between the two....the GT2 in this video walked as if trapped in the mid 130's or atleast 10mph more than a stock z06.

The ZR1 has +133 HP & +134 LBFT over the C6 Z06 & only weighs about 170 lbs more. I know it's just magazines but, the Z06's best numbers I've seen was 11.7 @ 125 mph. So far, the ZR1's best numbers are... 11.2 @ 130.5 in the 1/4 mile. Pretty big difference, as it should be with all the extra HP & TQ in the new ZR1. I've been collecting Motor Trend, Car & Driver, Road & Track, Automobile, Auto Week & Hot Rod since 1988. I have still have every magazine. Both are super fast cars though.

The Z06 has been 11.0@127 on the stock tires and 10.8x on drag radials. Search Z06 Ranger on youtube. Any good driver can run low 11's @126-127 in it. The ZR1 has already been 10.80's bone stock off the showroom floor by the same guy.

@FMX891807 That may be true about the times that have been posted with ranger. But no one knows what all was done to get those times. For someone to rent a track for X amount of time adjust every little thing like tire pressure, clutch, throttle, tire spin shift times, track prep, wind conditions, temp, DA...and when u can achieve the best of all those factors yeah a crazy rare time can be put down. I believe those times were on MIR which is known for being a sticky track.

@MaxwellReviresco Several people have come very close to his times and Jamie Furman has beaten them. I'm not saying every C6 Z06 can run 10's on stock tires with an average driver. I'm talking about records.  They are records for a reason. It's not just 1 outlier either. Tons of people are trapping 128+ which is more than enough to get the ET's I'm talking about.

The LP560-4 is not faster than the GT2, in fact, they did the same lap time, that's why Clarksson didn't want to show the result but you can see them on a later show...

first of all if the race started on 70km and the zo6 was on the 2nd gear that is bad and shwose that the drive have no idea about his car coz zo6 1gear reaches aproximatly 100km or 110 so if he drives good the distence wuoldnt be that far althow we know that is the porche is faster then the z06
