Ya he is an old fart but he's my bud

  • thats a damn nice truck

  • Ok, I commented before watching the entire video, being a smart-ass. But, that is a really sweet ride. Cleanest Power Wagon that I have seen that hasn't been completely restored.

  • Your wife pulls a mean plow! She's not for sale by chance, is she?

  • Is this in Cali?

  • Love that symphony of gear whine! Keep her running as long as you can! Cheers

  • Damn good tractor she makes. She's a sight for sore eyes too.

  • @wqpeb Thanks Man

  • does that thing start when u pressed the accelerator?

  • @jibjib900 On some of the old trucks there is a push starter lever. It is all mechanical. When you push on the starter pedal it does two things, it engages the starter gear to mate up with the fly wheel and at the same time it closes a electric switch that supplies power from the battery to the starter. Hope this helps

  • He sounds like Mr. Rodgers. lol no offense and by the way cool power wagon.

  • @crayzzriggs I agree with ya 100 percent. You can check out dode power wagon.com there are guys that have put the 12 valve cummins in them. Way cool

  • look like d\ rob\ rejuck

  • how long have you had the truck...i assume someone has rebuilt the engine at some pt? i would think finding parts is a problem.

  • @kenfo0 Since 1999. All origonal power train.no rebuilt engine. Parts are easy to get if you know where to get them. NAPA still carries allot of parts.

  • @fire48pw thanks for info. i may try to get one as a rebuild project after the economy gets better.

  • @kenfo0 what a great truck. sounds like it was forged from a single piece of iron.

  • @yz125 the issue is simplicity of engineering.Today, they try to make cars that are over-complicated. They must be computer-controlled. The car must accelerate quickly and corner at high speed, but allow you to walk away from a 40mph collision, get good mileage and low emissions. That's why people can't afford a decent car anymore, and why they break so much. As a "free man", why can't I choose a new truck w/o airbags, w/o computers that is cheap, will go 55mph and not break, like this truck?

  • @kenfo0 Blame the government and the "average" buyer, people love gizmos so that is what vehicles are built around, it would cost more to custom build one without them.

Also, OBD-II is required on all vehicles built after 1996, that means it must have a computer controlled engine, you will never get away from that. OBD-II also controls ABS, airbags, emissions and automatic transmissions(some manual transmissions also), you're just SOL for a simple car/truck in this day and age.

  • @TheRedneckAtheist that was my entire pt. You can hold all the "freedom" of western society today in a thimble.

  • @kenfo0 I agree with you, to a point, I think that all the safety features(except ABS) should be optional. Emissions however are a very good thing to control, a person does not have the right to poison anothers air.

  • @TheRedneckAtheist "a person does not have the right to poison anothers air.">>>agreed, to the extent that you refer to honest science, and not the abject fraud of MMGW. How is it ANYONE'S business if I choose to not wear a seat belt? Mind you, I think you've got to be a special kind of stupid not to use them, but it is none of my business in a free society. There is nothing that makes the truck in this vid unsuitable for the road, if I am aware of where it may fall short of other vehicles...

  • @kenfo0 "There is nothing that makes the truck in this vid unsuitable for the road, if I am aware of where it may fall short of other vehicles..."

You're dead on with this comment, I would expand it to all vehicles though, everybody should be knowledgeable of what their vehicle and themselves are capable of, stupid drivers are more dangerous than any car. On another note, governments(state and federal) should leave the classics alone.

  • @kenfo0 "How is it ANYONE'S business if I choose to not wear a seat belt?"

If someone is alone in a vehicle then it's no ones business however if a person has passengers or is in someone else vehicle then it becomes other peoples business.

  • @thedarkone2134 WRONG. It is then other peoples' business to not get in the truck. THAT'S how FREEDOM works. You obviously believe in a lack of logic and coercion of others.

  • @yz125yamaha10 have you ever seen a unimog? in a way, similar to this truck. It's problem is cost, in part due to all the regs one must meet today. A not too powerful, but VERY reliable engine, with tons of gears to get power reliably. A truly capable beast that is highly dependable. They need cheaper, smaller versions with less options.

  • Great truck, and not a cupholder anywhere near it.

  • What? What is that I hear?? Transmission gear noise? Awesome! What a great video! Thanks for posting. That is a truck. The Power Wagons of 2011 if there is such a thing, would be no match for this. Keep it, don't trade it in!! Ha ha.

  • the dog likes it

  • very nice truck. do you use the original engine or did you upgrade it?

I would love to make a crew cab version with a cummins in it. beautiful trucks american unimog honestly

  • @Disgraceland45 Still running strong on the original motor. I am with you on the crew cab and cummins

  • thats really cool!!

  • nice

  • Nice old truck.....do anything truck

  • nice tractor lol

  • The old flathead could pull like that all day, every day, for years. I had one in an M37 and it wasn't even bad on gas - about 12 - 14 mpg if you didn't try to go too fast.

  • you can do any thing with dodge trucks , as you can plainly see here on the farm

  • @tinytower maybe old dodge trucks. recent years ide have to argue

  • Wonderful, Those old Mopar flatheads all sound the same, I've got a '48 Dodge sedan with the 230.2 flathead.
