  • I always hated her choreography.. her tumbling was great though

  • Absolutely exquisite routine!

  • Excellent choreography, you can tell shes a born soviet.

  • I know what you mean, I think the Russians dance the best due to their intensive ballet training

  • this is not czardas for sure, she used czardas ocasionally this is another music.

  • Thanks for putting this video online, Dina Kochetkova used to be one of my favourite gymnasts. Plus, like rach086000 said, I miss when there used to be dancing in the routines.

  • I miss when there used to be dance in floor routines

  • I love this routine. Very nice dance and great tumbling.

  • this music is call Jealousy

  • does anyone know the name of her music???

  • Czardas

  • do you have a link? i cant find this anywhere!!

  • No sorry

  • Actually it is called Jealousy and it was composed specially for Dina, but there is a link at freewebs,com-gymnastics011-floormusic,htm

    Just replace a. for a , and a / for a -

  • what czardas is this? there are like a million czardas!!!

  • I have no idea, sorry. I just know the name of it the song.

  • anyone know the name of the music??

  • A very underrated gymnast....she was one of my faves!!

  • Love love love the choreography. Would give anything to see that from gymnasts these days!

  • I love Kotchetkova, one of my all time favourite gymnasts.

  • I mean, aside from the fact that Kotchetkova was a better tumbler and dancer than Miller ever was.

  • I guess that is how Miller beat Kochetkova at the Goodwill Games in RUSSIA on floor finals only several months later.

  • Yup... because a World title on floor is insignificant compared to a Goodwill Games gold...

  • Of course a world title is bigger achievement then goodwill games gold. However Miller has a world title too on floor, in 1993, and an olympic medal, a bronze in 1992, so she still has more achievements then Dina on floor! I brought up the goodwiill games since it proves Dina cant beat a hit Miller. She couldnt even beat a hit Miller in russia (goodwill games were in russia that year you know) so how could she do it on neutral ground.

  • Gymnastics existed before Shannon, you know! She didn't invent the sport!

  • Everybody knows that americans get scored at the goodwill games. get over it. Dina won fair and square, she was a better gymnast than Shannon, with more original work, more artistry. The innovation! THe kochetkova flip on BB. She was the one who linked tkatchev to pak consistentlty, and now so many do it. In 96, she did tkatchev to pak, shap to immediate free hip circle to immediate swing down to low bar with 1/2 to immediate free hip hecht to the high bar again. Achilles tendon, the vault in 96

  • I think it's unfair to say that Dina was more original and more artistic than Shannon. Shannon's routines showed appreciable originality, especially on BB (back dive 1/4 to 1/2 pirouette, gorgeous split hs mount in 1992) and UB (hop 1/1 to Gienger).

It's hard to say that one was better than the other, especially considering that they did NOT overlap during their peaks (Shannon's preceding Dina's). One thing you failed to mention is Shannon had DIVINE compulsory exercises in BOTH quads.

  • How would you consider Brisbane neutral ground? You DO know that Shannon was gifted during that competition AND the 1993 Worlds, right? It may not have been in the U.S., but Shannon was riding high on the wave of stardom after 1992. It's still contentious that she beat Lysenko in 1993 in the AA.

  • @kalibeast ok i agree that she was a much better tumbler but the dance is a big no no, when dina did the chicken dance i couldn't take her serioulsey when she did this routine from now on, miller has lovley dance that's so original and has an elegant classical style while Dina has the russian/romanian fast music, and sometimes it can be beautiful and other times it can be a little much. Dina is an amazing tumbler shannon is an amazing dancer that is why shannon always got high compulsory scores

  • @moopoo66

I thought Mo did the chicken dance?

  • Can you please stop bitching about every gold medal between 1991-2000 that hasn't been won by Shannon? I like her too, but this is getting ridiculous, not to mention extremely annoying! Miller wasn't the best floor worker in the USA, let alone in the world! Shannon has won by default too, you know, and not just once!

  • This is one of my favorite routines too! Well, I just love Dina...:)

  • This is quite possibly my favorite floor routine, aside from Shannon Miller's at the 1992 Olympics or Carly Patterson's at the 2004.

  • How you can put all three of those floor routines in the same quote is... beyond me.

  • Uh, okay....care to elaborate on your snarky reply?

  • Sure. Shannon and Dina have COMPLETELY different styles, especially in Shannon's FX routine from 1992-1994. But, more importantly, Carly can't dance. I could understand equally appreciating Dina and Shannon on floor, but Carly? Seriously? Her 2004 FX had zero dance and zero expression. I mean, yes, she was a great gymnast, but saying that she is equally impressive to you on FX to the other two just doesn't make sense to me.

  • Comment removed

  • I am not comparing the routines. That must not be clear. They are my favorite to watch and that's all I said. I didn't say they had anything to do with eachother. Nevertheless, that is your opinion, and not mine. Did I say anywhere in there that I was amazed at Carly's dance ability, or any of their dance abilities, for that matter? No, because there are other factors that can make a routine impressive.

  • Let me be extremely specific then. I don't understand how Carly's floor routine can be one of your top three favorites if Shannon and Dina are your other two. Is it because of the atmosphere when Carly competed it? I have plenty of favorite MOMENTS in WAG, but when I hear someone say "favorite routine," I immediately think composition, expression, music, choreography, etc. The whole package.

  • ....I guess I don't understand why you care so much. It's my opinion. You don't have to agree.

  • You asked me to elaborate on my snarky comment, so I did.

  • Nah, my point is that there was really no need for it in the first place.

  • The whole package for me was given by Nastia Liukin. Her floor had power, poise, PERFECTION, presision, elegance, expression, and of course, choreography. It was simply devine, absalutely phenomenal routine. Beyond words tbh.

  • One of my all time favorite floor routines. Love the choreography

  • N'exagérons rien.

  • her tumbling is ok, but i don't like the choreography, i think it could use a little more dance and not just hopping around, but she is still very good.

  • Very Good? This girl was near from becoming the 1996 Olympic AA Champion!

  • i never liked her hurdle...something about seemed weak to me; obviously it's not she was a great tumbler, just bugged me

  • Oh I loved Dina Kotchetkova, she just totally outclassed Milo here.

  • She's amazing! One of the last "complete package" gymnasts (along with Lilia). I particularly like her serious demeanour during competition.

  • it's fun seeing when you see her absolutely trying not to smile

for example when the result came in and Khorkina was beaming, you could see she so wanted to smile

also during the 1996 Olympic AA when she lets out a smile while her coach is talking to her between rotations

  • Dina is so classy! They don't make them like that any more... sigh.

  • Dina had difficulty in tumblings, but at the same time, she had very nice dance as well.

    It's rare NOW!!
