ok, to clear up any confusion. this is my lightning. in the vid it had a built motor and full exhaust and 14 lbs of boost. run was on the street tune, street tires and no traction mods in the middle of summer. best time with the stock s/c was 7.69 at 90 mph. Whipple 3.4 was added with a WMS monster inlet and t/b and at 16 psi it went 7.4 in the 1/8 and 11.7 in the quarter. motor has been yanked to fix a compression issue and will be a 10 sec monster when it goes back in. check my other vids

Yes driver counts for a lot in most cases but automatics even a lot of the playing field out. Problem with the challenger is its a pig even the srt 8 auto model is only a mid 13 sec car. I have not seen a 6 speed run yet.

no its a good friend of his. This Lightning now has a WHipple 3.4. But his best with the stock supercharger is a 7.7 i think. He was running low 8s in the 1/8ht mile.

the GT 500 has 500hp. the GT 500 KR has 550. and this Lightning isn't stock. it has a fully built motor with a bunch of other upgrades. since this video was made, a lot more has been done to it so that it runs in the 7.6s on the 1/8 mile.

that selby is probably stock which only pushes out bouut 450 horsepower not 500 any that svt has probably been round long enough to punch it up another 150-200 horsepower more in the shop. a friend of mine had a 600 horsepower svt monster that didnt stop wth a hugh supercharger and a shot of nos or 2. maby the shelby had a better chance if he heated up his tires like the svt did.

some. the increase will go from 14lbs to around 18lbs. also, this Lightning has around 540hp at the flywheel and the kenne bell is get it up to around 700hp with a little more mods (intake, intake manifold).

The gt has a 500 hp aluminum block 5.4L with 4 valve heads. The lightning is a 380 hp cast block 5.4 with 2 valve heads. it makes quite a bit of difference. the gt500 motor is pretty much the same as the lightning the only significant difference that i know of is the gt500 has 4 valve heads and it makes 120 more hp

Nice truck! I have a silver L in fort myers, it looks like immokalee raceway...right? Anyways, my stock L ran 8.4's and 13.5 1/4miles. With a 6lb lower, tune and DR's I ran 12.8. I now have a single turbo instead of a S/C and with no traction I run 12.2 @119 on only 10lbs of boost. See ya at the track.

I talked to the driver after i raced her. The car is actually her husband's and he has two of um. The one i raced in the vid has rear end gears, and intake and a tune and she had street slicks you can obviously hear that she is losing traction. The best time I've seen her run so far was 8.1. The other gt500 this guy owns is completely stock and its running 8.60. since this race I put in a torque converter in my lightning and it now run 8.30s
