  • all the credit goes to the sherpas but i see them cows carrying everything up the mountain :D

  • ^_^

  • One of my dreams is to climb the Mount Everest.. One day... one day I will return to Nepal and become one with the mountains :)

  • what a shame , give credit due to those that so deserve it , Well Sherpas thanks to face book we know what you do , thank to the BBC, them some

  • I appreciate this video, I am also Sherpa, I have been to lots of expedition including 8 everest summit, 2 lhoste summit, 3 ama dablam summit, pumori camp3, and lots of other mountains. Usually sherpa faces lots of problem in mountain after my experience. They make everything ready for the foreigner to climb but there is no respect from them but some does. There is problem even with the salary and different things. I spend my life climbing mountains but there is no any respect .

  • smosh brought me here...

  • oh man I want to go hang out in a tent in the himalayas. that would be bangin

  • Great flim.. so proud to call this my birthplace and sherpas, my people.

  • Sherpas - the unsung heros of the mountains

  • sherpa is one of the cast frm nepal?? wrong!! sherpas r part of the Tibetan people..just got separated when china invaded tibet ...all the border area lands joined india or nepal..that's what the border disputes r about..right now between india n china.. all my sherpa bother n sisters...don't be afraid to say ur tibetan..be proud..

  • @2010Tibetan wtf bro. sherpas ancestors were from tibet. they arent tibetans if they were they wud say they were tibetans not sherpas. and yeah they are a caste from nepal. caste means ethnicity in nepal just like newar, khas, rai, limbu, gurung, thakali, magar, lepcha, bhutia, tharu and other castes. anyways i think tibetans and nepalese are brothers so ure arguement is irrelevant.

  • Mount everest:

heavily commercialised event where non-nepalese/tibetan people are dragged all the way up to the summit and back by sherpas.

And then they claim of how they got to the highest without a single 'sherpa' in their 5 page long boast.

  • I used to help people climb Everest, but it started getting more and more dangerous as people lost respect for the mountain

  • this is sad how they treat the sherpas like shit im really sad to see that happen to a fellow nepali

  • I've trekked in the Annapurna/Macchapuchare region & we had 3 sherpas plus numerous porters. They have to be the most wonderful caring race of people known to mankind. I think it goes with the territory. I fell in love with Nepal back in 1988 & I plan to do Everest in 2011. It's gonna be a challenge to say the least.

  • Tashi Dai

very good Interview. Good job dai.

    Mingma T sherpa

    Khumjung-2 Pawalo

  • These New Zealand tour operators in Tibetan side collude with Chinese and bury the arrest and killing of Tibetan refugees escaping from Tibet.

They do this to make their livelihood and permit. Even the news media in new Zealand try to not write about killing on borders.

  • Salute to these peoples, these are the people who made our country proud and will forever. Hats off brother sherpas !!

  • the speaker is cathy o'dowd,

her reputation is quite questionable after the everest events in 1996. i don't think she is the right person to comment such a documentary and talk about the good work sherpas do.

  • @merpati1

you mean the fact that she among others left their friends to die? are those the events you're talking about?

  • JourneyManPictures is probably the best channel on youtube.

  • sad to hear when the sherpa was talking about how americans have their film crews go up everest and not one shot showed a sherpa. Sherpas are definietly not appreciated for what they do, they carry all the americans crap for them. good vid.

  • If it's any consolation, Americans are like that wherever they go.

  • i don't think climber can summit mount everest with out sherpa's help. am i right?

  • Sherpas are the most accomplished mountain climbers on Earth. Period. Hillary would've never made it without Tenzing and that's the truth. Spoiled westerners don't know what it's really like to be self-sufficient on a climb. These Sherpas deserve more credit when they summit than the westerners that they carried up with them. Sherpas do all the back-breaking work and prep all the meals and campsites as well. These people have incredible stamina and discipline. Much love to the Sherpas.

  • Respect for these Sherpas. I recently saw a movie as the only wore a Sherpa 12 oxygen bottles or about 45 kilograms with a gradient of 60%. It's insane what these people will have to. Simply fantastic.

  • Respect!

  • Sherpas are the true heroes of Mount Everest! This video proves it!

    Thanks for uploading it!

    5 stars and a favorite!

  • "without these crazy people, we have no job"

  • If you watch the everest reality show called, "beyond the limit" i guess, then you`ll see that Sherpas do all the freaking work carrying oxygen bottles, laying kilometers of rope, ladders, equipment, make important decisions etc.

The others basically struggle to get their own butts up there and make a huge story out of it.

She said something about 7k for north cole and 30k for summit but i`am shure that`s not what the sherpas get.

  • yea thats fucked up

  • 3k usd per expedition

  • Mr TASHI...STOP GIVING FALSE INFORMATION TO THE WORLD...SHERPA IS NOT A CAST...IT'S A TRIBE...

  • sherpa is a cast.

  • hi!sukebegajiin1 le me inform u,sherpas arent no caste.we r tribals, group of clans, families belived to have a common ancestor, hence we hv 18 different clans, migrate from one place to another,if u look at history, sherpas are peeople who migrated from east of tibet. people in east were called sherwa...eventually due to english influence it came to be know as sherpa.please bear this in mind jst in case ur a sherpa n u may some day like to tell ur childrens bout what sherpas really are...Thuche..

  • @nimatenzie3

Sharpa mean people from the east. Shar (east) pa (an adjective) to describe first Tibetan who migrated to this area from eastern Tibet (Kham) some 500 years ago.

  • 'white rich westerner' is a cast and a tribe.

  • sukebegaijin you are completely wrong.

Sherpas are a distinct ethnic group.

  • 'white rich westerner' is a cast and a tribe.

  • That is sooooo true about american and english films, non white men never ever get credit for anything while the other is hyped beyond belief (well, beyond belief of intelligent people).

Not much different then the relationship between whites and packers in Africa.

  • Thanks for posting! Great one!
