  • also was kinda mad when i beat the conqueror i never got the achievment and had to do the game all over but i cant get enough of square enix so im now doin it a 3rd time aswell as FF-13

  • huge fan of square enix ive play + completed everything they have made but i only wish they made FF or last remnant online PVP that would be awesome Nice vid btw not that i needed to do it. :D

  • So this is on the xbox right? Does doing this grinding method on the pc good as well? Or is doing the "pc ultimate grind" from glenys quest a better choice on the pc?

  • @bddblade AFAIK this isn't a method to use on the pc version. As to which method is good, I can't help as I've never played the pc version.

  • @FF12GM Okay thank you. Then that settles it then, the "pc ultimate grind" is the best way for the PC from what I've heard.

  • where do we hire soldier? not the captains units

  • @babunga

Soldiers are hired in Athlum. Speak to the soldier in the second section. All leaders can be hired from guilds but they aren't all available at the start. You need to unlock them as the game progresses.

  • I just started playing this game again after a long break. I have one question. In your written guide it says you can use 4 unions when grinding yet while demonstrating here you only use 3. Is the 4 union party suggestion for later grinding in Ancient Ruins or am I missing something? :s ...I still do three of five for now until you tell me otherwise.

  • @j800r

It is completely up to you how you want to do it. I have always preferred using fewer unions in battle but that's just a personal choice though obviously the more characters per union the higher the HP. You can only use 6 leaders at a time so I feel that two per union is good enough. It keeps the HP higher which enables the union to withstand attacks a bit better. You could use more unions and therefore level up more soldiers but it isn't necessary if you're following my guide.

  • @FF12GM Lol, i'm not just following your guide. It's my bible. :P

Only issue I have is my BR raises slightly faster than yours even when I haven't fought a single enemy that's not forced. Plus the damn Skull Scavengers STILL block a lot of my attacks even at BR 20! 0.0

All's good though. I've been playing JRPGs for years so I'm a very patient person. If I'm not completely satisfied with how my party's performing I'll just restart the game. You know, I got it in '08 and STILL haven't mastered it

  • i just wandering when is the best time to grind, im at disc 1 when u go to counsel with br 12. i want to party have emmy and irna but i don't want to grind if it mean that their stat are far behind. so can some one please tell me when and where is the best.

  • how did you get emmy to join ur party?

  • @armoredkid12 She will join after you complete the Nest of Eagles battle which is after Nagapur.

  • One thing I don't understand is how so many people have a low battle rank around this point?

I'm on exactly the same point as you on this Video but my Battle Rank is 42

  • @britishwinner It's because you fight everything that moves whereas I fight nothing except forced battles. Just because an enemy is there doesn't mean you have to fight it.

  • Ok thanks. Just coming to the end of the grind choosing combat arts all the time (where possible, otherwise attack only) and nobody ever died, but my rush only has 48 strength and 624 HP. Next lowest stats for other characters are 55 and 56 for strength, while the other 3 are above 70 - Emmy as high as 77! Also the other leaders have between 820 and 950 HP, so at least 200 more than Rush. Is it usual/acceptable to have this kind of discrepancy in stats or is it worth starting my grind again?

  • If you reload and use the method shown, you will create a battle chain. I assume this is not overly detrimental as you would surely have given mention to it if it were. However, can you advise if ultimately I would have better stats from breaking the chain (e.g. by getting ambushed every other fight), or otherwise how chaining (not linking) affects/doesn't affect stat-levelling. Linking=bad, but chaining (which I assume from your video is a different thing) is something I am very confused about.

  • @spreego Dunno about the full details but when I did my grinding here my chain was about 60 which isn't huge. I have read that increasing the chain is better for stats but I can't confirm that. I suggest you ask on the GameFAQs board.

  • How do you keep blacking out the enemies with normal attacks?

  • @TriforceLongbow Some weapons have the ability to black enemies out but by far the most likely cause of black outs come from critical defence triggers after blocking an enemy's attack.

  • @FF12GM

I'm assuming that one of your soldiers has such a weapon, no?

I see multiple blac outs after regularly attacking enemies.

  • @TriforceLongbow - Two of the Qsitis are using a Striker and a Cudgel, both of which have the Black Out effect.

  • why does Bauslon start off doing shite damage. almost EVERYONE can outhit him at this stage in the game, including soldiers! 0.0

he's supposed to be one of the hardest hitters in the game ain't he :s does it just take a long time for his str to raise? :s

  • Believe me, when you get to the back end of the game and have his weapon art you'll be glad he's there. ;o)

  • hows your br and stats now after that? I'm going to be grinding the SS soon. Br is 5 and about to head to Elysion.

  • My BR was in the low 20's after finishing and my HP was around the 3k mark for each union. Can't remember the individual stats.

  • @FF12GM wow, not to be rude so dont take this personally, but thats a bit low dont ya think? i was level 37 here, and thats low compared to loads of others, i mean some people have walkthru vids on youtube and they level 47 here! p.s i now level 41 aiming to grind to 48-50 for boss but yea u might wanna level up

  • You need to realise that your BR is not YOUR level but indicative of the strength of the monsters you face. That's why it's beneficial to get as many stat increases as possible for little BR rise. Why do you think I could win at the Nest of Eagles at BR7 when other can't win at BR57? Get it out of your head that it's good to increase your BR quickly because it isn't and anyone who knows anything about the game will tell you that.

  • @FF12GM Aaaah thanks man, i had no idea i tried to find out about that but i couldnt find a good explenation, youve explained it really world, thanks man helped alot!

  • ROTFL. i browsed the gamespot forums and most of them were boasting how high their BR was or saying they had to grind to such a BR to face a certain boss. must admit, made me chuckle a little. :P

  • A high BR is only ok as long as you have decent stats to go with it otherwise you'll have bother.
