I'm going to be having this surgery. And I'm journaling it on youtube. It's really a personal decision, and from the studies, and talking with people that have had it.. it's very successful.
their are realy harsh side effects pre op with the gastric bypass rare yes but with more and more people getin the bypass as a fast fix less and less are being told about the side effects. their are meny videos on you tube about gastrix bypass and seizures
Instead of those small five cuts they used to make one long cut down the front. About 10 to 15 years ago. Does anyone know where in youtube I can see such a video? Also the surgery reversed. I know someone who has had these both things done and I would like to see it done if possible.
why do i watch this video? anyways is this real? do people actually do this? you guys talk about this like its a everyday thing or something.. fuckin nasty americans always gotta fuck up shit eew
I got the operation 19th dec 2011. So its soon been 6 weeks. And the first few weeks is a battle. Then it gets easier but you still have to be carefull with what you eat. I was beeing bold and had some bacon after 4 weeks and i had stomachacke for an hour after. So i probably wont be eating that again. But if you stick to food with not to much fat and sugar its actually quite nice not having to eat so much. One of the downsides i feel is very annoying is drinking wile eating can be a problem.
I went through the surgery last week, let me tell you... if youre contemplating the surgery... pleasee do everything you can in order to lose weigh without the surgery.... its hard to lose weight the "natural way" BUT ITS A LOT HARDER TO LOSE WEIGHT THROUGH SURGERY"its not easy the way you have to eat, and also the vitamin intake.... in other words I did it!! but I though about it.. and it took me 3 years to make that decition. Post-op is very intense...
@vzlan999 the yellow substance is the HCl/digestive enzymes - they keep the stomach intact so it still produces the juices to break down food, but there's more breakdown in the intestines now rather than in the small section of the stomach that they leave intact
part 3 of my comment..... I managed to lose 25 lbs but it took 6 months. Its not as easy as some people think. After the surgery, the amount of food that you can ingest is only about an ounce of food. It also comes with other issues such as vomitting & other digestive issues. I say all this because the people who get this done are well aware of the after effects and they make the choice of going through all this just so they can live a better AND longer life.
Part 2 of my comment.... I am not a huge person, however; I have a very high BMI, I suffer from Sleep Apnea and Narcolepsy. I take pills to control my thyroid, I take pills to help me sleep and pills to keep me alert in the day due to the Narcolepsy. My doctor referred me because 90% of his patients have lost their sleep apnea with the weight loss. It can also in some cases cure Thyroid problems. Working out can work as well as diet change but it is extremely hard.....
Part 1......I know 5 people who have had it done and it has made their life 100% better. Too many people seem to think that those who do it is only so they don't have to diet or exercise. Not exactly true. There may be some people who do it for those reasons but for the most part it is not. There are usually underlying conditions. I myself am expected to get it and many of my friends can't believe why....
Although surgery may be good for some people, there are more natural ways to release extra weight. I know people who have lost over 100 lbs. using a product that I personally have been using and love the way I feel. Please visit my channel to find out more. Thank you.
Some people say this is the easy way out, This is NOT the case. It makes me really angry and upset that people are so shallow minded and only think this way. I am riddled with artheritus and on steroid tablets and steroid injections that basically take over my life, In the last several years I hae gained a large amount of weight and no matter what diet I have tried, None work. So im due to have the op in december so it can change my life. Yes there are risks as there are with anything.
@charmainew04 My heart go's out to you. I hate to see people suffer from weight issues. Do you have a healthy eating life style? Diets don't work because it's more of a life style and changing what you put into your body. Can you do any physical activity? I would love to help you any way I can.
There is a natural way to reduce the size of your stomach without gastric bypass. It is safe, easy and effective. Watch The Secrets Of Weight Loss on my channel to find out how and for step by step information about how to lose weight, control your metabolism and get the body you want.
I just want anyone to know that this surgery is becoming more & more popular but it is extremely dangerous!! I had a Aunt & Uncle die after having it done!!Please consider all options & ask the Dr questions b4 considering such a dangerous surgery!
Everyone has a problem with my comment... If people would eat right and walk more they wouldn't be in this situation... What good is it to block off more than half of your stomach if you will still fill it with greasy french fries and fatty burgers.. im not the biggest health freak but i've seen people do it naturally. i am entitled to say as i please and will continue to do so. Everything you hear will not be exactly what you want to hear, the truth hurts. Some people dont "NEED" this surgery.
Ok, so the larger portion of the stomach is kept for the gastric pit chief/parietal cell functions - but the duodenum (~10") nor jejunum (~8') have these gastric pits that also have mucosal cells to help protect the lumen from HCl. Does the body compensate for this somehow? Leakage from any anastomosis would be your last concern if pH 0.5 juice is trickling down the duodenum with no buffer... What about the pyloric sphincter?
Dear Dr. David Geller, we would like to use this very clear video to explain the gastric bypass surgery of one of our protagonists in our documentary about the ins and outs of being fat. The program will be broadcasted by public broadcasting in The Netherlands. Please let me know, yours sincerely, Malva Blom, producer VPRO Television.
@SimonRivasV2 I totally agree! I also myself at 28 year olf women had this surgery and it saved my life. I was extremely large but could not get the weight off any other way. This is a family issue. I also had many other health issues to go along with it. And instead of dying i had to go this route. I have had my fair share ofissues but, you hae to listen and follow the diet or frankly it will kill you. Some poeple think they can go back to normal eating, not the facts!
@TheDamnRaven I am entitled to speak as i feel... If God gave you active limbs use them to benefit you instead of taking the easy way out. If people would eat right this wouldn'tbe available.. what good is using a small percentage of your stomach if you will still fill it with grease and fat... now you SHUT UP.
@matajesus4 I believe it is because the remaining stomach still produces fluids that are needed (like acid etc) to break down the food once it gets into the lower part of the intestine. Although I am not 100% sure, and always wonder about the same thing! =) Good question.
genius! thank you
