Damn I misspelled "they're" in my last comment... FAIL. Anyway, I'm from Minnesota. Yeah, our winters are long and really suck, but our summers get in the low-upper 90's frequently for a few months as well. We basically experience the worst of both blizzards and hell. Most people don't talk with nearly as heavy of a Norwegian accent as stereotypes would have you believe, but it is noticeable to people outside of Minnesota. The Vikings break our hearts constantly... and that's about it.

I'm from Minnesota, and when people tell me from Florida, about the only question related to their home state I have for them is whether or not their a Gators fan. I can barely relate to their interest if they say yes, because the Gophers are terrible and have been for years, so I'm not particularly interested in our sports programs. I would never bring Disney into the conversation.

Most people around here equate Iowa to corn, not Chicago. Oh, also, one last stereotype about Minnesota... here in Minnesota, people assume what you know what they're talking about when they mention "the cities" (St. Paul and Minneapolis),and it's totally true.

If you live on the coast, the beach is right tharr. Living here in Cali, La Jolla beach is only a couple of minutes and I've also gotten questions about going to there often. I do but just to take photos.
