I've used this method before but this is the first time I've ever heard of someone using the same method to stretch out a hat 2 full sizes.

I wonder if both hats are the sizes he says they are. I mean, he only shows you the New Era stickers and not the actual size tags.

I was surprised after watching this video and laughing my ass off, I decided to actually try it out on some hats I bought online that were too small. It actually does work. They went from being very tight and snug on my head, to fitting perfect!

If you have an old hat that you want to fit you, this method actually did help increase the size of my hat by about 1/4 or so.

I then decided it was time to increase my SMALL hat collection and purchased another hat with the same size. This one was too large though?!? It works without ripping if you sit down and do it slightly but not till it tears as it just stretches. Also you can deflate a ball and put it in the hat and inflate it in the hat and leave it a couple hours (in front of a heater if you wish).

I tried it on my old New Era hat because it seemed like a joke video. Worked great.

I didn't hear no tear, but give it 2 seconds pulling and it's a great fit. Went from a 7 3/8 to 7 5/8 fit no problem :).

you must be careful if you keep the stickers on with this, but you can put water ALL OVER the sweatband and then wear the hat while it shrinks and then it will stop shrinking when it gets to your head size.

another way is to just flip the band, part that goes around your head, inside out and towards the back of the hat you will see where the band overlaps (behind the hat's tag). if you pull the overlapping part towards you (tearing it) it will make the hat bigger. the more you tear the bigger it will be.

It actually tells you on the new era cap site under 'cap care' that you should do this if its too tight, they claim you are snapping the plastic band that keeps the shape.

Also to shrink a larger hat you can wet the band and let it dry out in the sun.

Im a 7 3/8 but im ordering a very rare nhl cap which only comes in 7 1/4 available in UK and gunna stretch it out! Im glad new era actually encourage this so u dont miss out on a good opportunity!
