I am a member of Gardendale First Baptist, and it breaks my heart to hear people down a man of God like this. I remember where I sat when Steve-o said these words. He is a good man. He loves God. Why hate?
Im a member of GFBC, where Steve pastored for many years. "Let him who is without sin, cast the first stone." Steve Gaines is an awesome pastor, with good understanding of the word of God. He has been tested and has proven that he is a good church leader. He led our church and we have no regrets. You cannot get an accurate opinion of a man or his heart/motives, based on a 3 min video!! If you really loved and trusted Adrian Rogers, then you should trust his judgement in wanting Steve Gaines.
Ugh, how sad. Dr. Rogers must be turning in is grave right now. My heart goes out to Mrs. Rogers and family... Its so shocking how badly Bellevue has deteriorated in such a short time under the leadership of Gaines...
I admit, there will never be another Adrian Rogers so in knowing that, you are not gonna be happy with anyone who replaced him! There was a reason that Adrian Rogers requested Steve Gaines. He is a good pastor/teacher, despite what "opinion" you form about him, based on a 3 min video. If you trust in God's hand, in finding your 'new' pastor, then you should know that God put Steve there, right?? What good is faith in God, and His ability to control things in our life, if we dont trust this??
FYI: I'm a former member of Bellevue...went there all my life. I was there the day Rogers ordained Gaines and washed his feet. Unfortunately, I also was there to witness the deterioration of the church after Roger's death. My family knows the family on a personal basis.....For godssakes, Mrs Rogers and family have been driven from their own church! Ugh, it makes me sick...

Yes, I see what you're saying, but I feel that I do have a say in this matter because Bellevue was a huge part of my life. If I seem "hostile" its because, well, I am pretty angry. I am no longer affiliated with the church, but it hurts me to see my family and others close to them hurting because of this whole ordeal. Of course, they've all moved to new churches and are very happy now, but this video stirred up old feelings and memories.
It may come as a surprise to you, but both men and women partake in this sport. There are a vast amount of people who are currently trying to get pole dancing into the Olympics. The world championship is being held in Tokyo this year. IPDFC

Being from Bellevue for many years I realize he intimidated the committee of 12 into submission and he had the 12 in the palm of his hands. So sad to see what has happened to Bellevue. Adrian Rogers was a great preacher of the Gospel. It's hard to believe the committee of 12 hired this guy. None of Dr. Rogers family is at Bellevue. They left a long time ago.

ptshhhh. You people are litterally retarded. Steve gains has commited NUMEROUS offences and then LIED about it infront of the church. He is truely the definition of "wolf in sheeps clothing" and you say" he's "GOD-ORDAINED" what about the father's in the cathlic church? arent they "GOD-ORDAINED" yet they have malested a little boy. so that proves, that just becuz they are "GOD-ORDAINED" doesnt mean they dont mess up, or make HUGE mistakes, (that are un-forgivable)
I think this prooves that Pastor Gaines was upfront and honest with Belleview before he became the pastor. It's a shame that people are not willing to accept change concerning things that are preferences and not essentials. I pray that the "saving Bellevue" crowd will soften their hearts and stop causing dissention. For the good of the Kingdom.
