Thank you for sharing in English. I certainly don't mind some Finnish words as well, such as "Karjala pirogue". It helps me to learn a little of another language. Please include a Finnish word or two in all your videos. Thanks again for sharing a great experience.
@bvbjb It's spelled Karjalan piirakka :) witch in english is Karelian pasty, if you google it you can find some recipes if you are interested, they are pretty good if you make em right :)
Really liked the video. All the foods look great. Would really like the recipe for the rye bread and the desert. My husband loves hiking and camping and cooking outdoors. Always looking for new things to cook
My mom makes a something very similar to this. Its a thick stew of pork, potatoes, and carrots! Its cool to see it being made in Finland 7,646 km away!
Thin Ryebread Sourbread root water Rye powder salt
Sourbread root can be made from: Ryepowder and water and let it stay 48h in a closed bowl, not tightly closed. Then abit more ryepowder and water and let it stay 24h.
And when making the dough you have to let it stay 24h as well, so it takes time :D
@johnmonk66 I know that the boy scouts in Sweden makes something called stick bread.. You make a simple dough with flour, water and a pinch of salt, make a thin strip of dough and role it on a stick and the roast it over a fire or hot coals.. This is very fun to do with kids in the woods :)
@KonstantinKuehn That would have been great to have! I love smoked reindeer meat! But I was satisfied with the wall dried meat which is very good as well :)
Looks very tasty! Very good camera work on your video - cooking and getting all the right camera shots for your video, all on snow, would make anyone hungry - LOL!
Hey man, that looked pretty delicious! Also, the bit about lanyards for your gloves is a great piece of advice. I use lanyards but they are much shorter and only so my gloves don't blow away in the wind. I never thought to use my gloves as a cushion!
I cross my gloves behind me when working barehanded so the gloves where all ready there. I think it works pretty well, go´s good with the saying "use what you have at hand" :)
I used to buy gear from a place called Ö&B but they quit selling military surplus so today i go to fleamarkets where i from time to time find usefull gear very cheap :)
Mmm! Mää rakastan tollasta ruokaa. Mika, oot hyvä tekeen videoita, kiitos että esittelet Suomea ulkmaaalaisille!=)

Very nice! Great looking meal; your "dining room" there has awesome views, but looks a bit chilly to me. I'm sure a nice hot meal was quite welcome!
By the way, I really like your glove/seat suggestion...very simple, very practical.
All the best.
