  • I love this movie too, and Melanie Griffith is so awesome, and sexy with her bright red hair. Being so inspired by this movie I made a Music Video that gets a lot of hits and likes. Have you had a chance to see it. watch?v=UqmYv-ZkoSk

  • She also can be seen in CSI, as Terri (?) the bone person, and Gil Grissoms love interest.

  • @Zoomer30 hhmmmm, not as hot in csi but still has a spark....

  • I remember when I first saw the movie Permanent Record. I rented the DVD from Netflix on the recommendation of a friend. When Pamela Gidley appeared in the opening, I shouted, "Hey, it's Cherry 2000!"

  • Never mind, I found her.

  • Does anybody know what happened to Pamela Gidley? It is hard to believe that an actress that absolutely stunning, would be partial one-hit-wonder. I know her character was a Bot, and that as such, not much emotion was necessary - but for the time this film was made, her look was incredibly fresh and her charisma was obvious.

Translation: Pamela Gidley, was super hot!

  • Visual Landscape was Beautiful, it really captured the heart of western America for me. The story line was very human and unique. The films villain was a true sociopath but i felt his character was portrayed with realism. Melanie Griffith and her driving that car with the attitude was so cool. Most memorable to me was the beautiful and adventurous movie score with a lovely theme to stick with me all my life. Cherry 2000 was one of the many highlights during my childhood in the 80s.

  • Melanie MADE this movie.

  • @Kitchell2112 Yes.. Shame on her!

  • "Be firm, but friendly. And be yourself"

  • "I feel anger. I'm experiencing anger Snappy"!

"Well, I'm sorry to hear that Lester"!

  • Good use of Berlin's - Sex (I'm A) and Tangerine Dream'ss - Scrap Yard in the feature. I remember when this first came on Cable. I think it was back in the summer of 88' or 89' on The Movie Channel. Those were the days. I wish Steve DeJarnat had done better with his career. Pam Gidley was a fox in this film.

  • sho u rite

  • This movie was awesome! I love Pamela Gidley, and your clip is great. Thanks for adding it.

  • There was a rumor - Only a rumor, mind - that they filmed in a ghost town & experienced authentic " hauntings " while filming on location.

Seemingly fitting, since this film was so wonderfully whack - o !!!

  • I remember seeing this film in either 89 or 90 on one of the cable movie channels (might have been Cinemax, not sure). I was instantly hooked to it because of the unusual story nature. But, most of all, I was hooked to Melanie Griffith. She played a very sexy tracker in this one. Thanks for the behind the scene look!

  • Thanks, Frankie. But, I will pass for this moment as I can always check it out on YT at anytime. I will subscribe to your YT account however, if you would not mind the same for mine.

  • Ms. Gidley looks a bit like a younger, blonde, short - haired version of Margot Kidder. She hasn't been in much since except for 1 notable movie about child vampires by Disney. I sincerely hope she HASN'T gone the way of Margot Kidder.

  • Like Mad Max on acid with robots !!

Very surreal - female robots, at least 1 old guy in DRAG, a cat in a WATER BOTTLE, & a hotel clerk who looked like " Rosie " the bar owner from the series " MASH ". The late Ed Wood would've loved it !! The only element missing was radioactive nymphomaniac zombies....

    A camp cult classic !!!

( Regrets recording over my VHS copy of it in the 90's )

  • I love this film, I didn't think I would, but I did.

  • Cherry 2000 was quintessential 80s - So bad it was better than good - It's AWESOME.
