I dont understand why there is any argument with what board you ride. Short board fun board or long board, its all surfing. Its all about having fun. Im only 15 and im not that great at long boarding but i love it, there is nothing better then just sitting out in the ocean with your board catching waves.

I started surfing on short boards, and bought a fun board.

I just loved it, i discovered the real sensation of the real surfing, you can just drop an relax, feel the wind cutting your face, and you dont get nervous when you need go back to outside hehehe

Now im planing to buy a 10' long!

It's good to see you younger guys using the longer boards. I began surfing in 1963 at La Jolla Shores at the age of 17. My board was a 9 foot ten inch Hobie, 22 inches wide. Malibu has always had a reputation for being crowded, but the waves there are some of California's best and well-suited for long boarding.
