  • This song reminds me of my temper and how it can intensify!

  • Wagner thought Liszt was going mad when L. played late works like this at Bayreuth and in Venice. Just goes to show that genuis's don't always appreciate each other.

  • Yes, you're right. And you know which metal? Platinum. Yours Bluetooth, classical homeopath

  • @Safron42 bad disease you got there and "ultra" bad audio perception close to deafness if romantic music seems weak to you... try some prokofiev or scriabin, or just lis(z)ten his etudes trancendental if you like great harmonic progression.. or bach...chopin.... or my absolute favorite: liszt 2nd piano concerto... hope that cures you:D (just liszten veeery closely to the harmonic progressio in the beginnning... just great)....

  • Genial! Brendel es uno de los más grandes intérpretes de Liszt.

  • Yes, classical music can make you headbanging.

  • @Safron42 Who cares whether you have a neurological condition that crosslinks perceptive pathways. What you define as weak, is not by definition weak. In other words, of your entire comment "It's good" would have sufficed. The other 95,4% of your comment is bollocks.

  • @Safron42 Define weak....no wait..dont -___-

  • most probably my favorite from Liszt... I just love it!

  • @alparber I like it so much too, it's very nice :) btw, I haven't heard any news from you lately, is everything ok? I sent you some messages, please let me know when you get them. Take care!

  • WOW

  • fottuto genio.

  • Liszt is so metal.

  • @simontist yes...

  • @simontist nonono. Metal is so Liszt.

  • Has an intensely orchestrated sound structure.Phrased very well, articulation is second to none use of pedal is perfect. Tuner could have raised the treble on the piano but who knows with a recording. As a pianist I know that playing very fast and soft at the same time is very demanding and takes practice. Not the most harmonically interesting piece, however, in some spots had a load of repeated intervals

  • Such power, such hope even though ! There is no despair in Liszts music. It's like he is gone trough hell an managed to escape staying clear. Or like even in hell he would see a bit of light and hope. That is a genuis.

  • Lizst is the real father of Modern music and Alfred Brendel his greatest interpreter. Thank you for posting.

  • Magnificent! With a million years of practice I could not come close to this splendid rendering!

  • @lindalouwho54 u can whatever u want, u just have to want it badly and what's mostly important 'believe in urself'!

  • Lisztius Magnus! or there- abouts.

  • What a great recording.

  • you know, I never heard a recording of this piece so far that matched this in sheer virtuosity and accuracy. It's a very difficult piece! By the way, there are a bunch of early recordings of Brendel playing Liszt, many of which are fantastic. If you like this, you should check them out!
