Atheism is a Religion, because you believe, you have faith there is no God without proof. When you die, it is only then you see the truth.
Go back to the definition of faith. Faith is believing in something without proof. Religion is a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith. Atheism is defined as the doctrine or belief that there is no God. Therefore Atheism is a religion.
It is wrong to preach atheism just as much as it is wrong to preach religion, besides how can any true atheist find pride in impacting someone else's thinking and turning them into atheists which goes against what atheism is all about; allow people to think for themselves.
@clevonamerica Ha yeah I'm not sure what that is, most likely the album will end up in my basement for dozens of years collecting dust. I doubt I ever have any real use for it, except as a garage sale filler. Also I would like to point out that I have these really old pennies from various times, some before they put Lincoln on them.
i think the stamp collecting issue could be good comedy material. eg "not stamp collecting is just stamp collecting of the gaps", or " so, ur saying a lincoln stamp with no beard exists just because ur book says so?"
people are not turning it into a religion by simply argueing against it, all they are doing is putting down the reason why you are doing so

That's a terrible analogy. YouTube atheists are obsessed with atheism. That's all they seem to think and care about. They subscribe to other atheists, and talk with them about their atheism all day. You wouldn't have a show called "the Non-Stamp collecting experience". But there is a show on YouTube called the "Atheist Experience". I know that If I didn't believe in God, I certainly wouldn't worry about him.
Unfortunately the model of 'You are either with U.S. or against U.S. is now being adopted by our 'Enemies' I think? Mosque Bombing in Iran! Does this mean now Iran will join 'our' 'War on Terror' ? LOL : (
I wish I could be 'Mindful' and avoid the controversy of Religion but I can't/wont because I am flawed too!
I feel that not speaking against religion/dogmas/indoctrination/groupthink is...COMPLICITY : (
What utter tripe. Nobody wakes up in the morning saying " Ahh, yawn, Lets go out and not believe in a god today.." That is ludicrous. And if debating and arguing makes a stance default to dogma, then we have serious problems in all areas of social life. I think your opinion is wrong because your purposefully misconstrue the definitions of the terms used and therefore it is flawed reasoning.
First show me dogma in atheism, then we'll have a real issue.
The first problem is your misuse of the very terms you purport to be using correctly.
You say "first show me dogma in atheism...", but at the same time seem to agree that Atheism is not really a position. So you still advocate being defined by what you are not and arguing against the opposition while holding that in reality you have nothing to argue for.
SO you basically say "I dont know, because I don't see evidence" and then you say "But you're stupid and wrong anyways".
I ask for dogma in atheism because this could show it to be a religion. I still have not seen any dogmatic stance attributed to atheism that I must fiercely adhere only to maintain my disbelieve. Simple as that, nothing wrong with it, you talk trash..
Next, we have not discussed evidence, but we might as well do. I see plenty of evidence incompatible with various types of god concepts. In fact , all of them to be precise.
But do indulge me , that is if you have anything insightful to say.
Anti-Theism is a pretty dogmatic belief system. Neo Marxists did in fact do things in the "name of Atheism" and were rather dogmatic about persecuting the Orthodox Churches and saying that religious persons were delusional.
French Revolutionary anti-theists weren't much better.
Any more evidence needed?
And yes, let us discuss the topic of "evidence". Last I checked, the dogmatic view of reductionists empiricism held by many contemporary Atheists doesn't exactly include "insight".
Taking the definition of evidence and dogma to new extremes I see. "Evidence". That which can be twisted to suit our truth and "Dogma". Any generalized collection of ideas other people could stand by. It does not even deserve a comment, but just in case this was a honest mistake and not a malevolent slur. Atheism is not an organization, not a group of people who act together. The action of one do not reflect on the other. It is a generalization that is at least a bit rude. But mostly wrong.
Atheists can clearly be a group of people and an organization, especially if their unifying idea is to oppose Theists (Anti-Theism), which is noticeable in many contemporary Atheists today.
Evidence is typically viewed by many contemporary Atheists in line with Dawkins and every other paper back mentor of the New York Times list, as merely tangible scientific data.
Which to any person who thinks beyond the microscope, is sheer nonsense and weakens scientific inquiry itself.
You really are an insufferable arrogant bastard. You don't even properly read comments, you assume all sorts of things that are not written. you refuse to comment on topic and you take everything that you can out of proportion and or context if it suits your petty needs. You do not even follow comment concepts and definitions, but instead make up your own !.
This makes it not a lot of fun to have a debate with you.
Even by your skewed definition of "Hobby" you need another one.
And they said: "There is no life but our life of this world, and never shall we be resurrected." If you could but see when they will be held (brought and made to stand) in front of their Lord! He will say: "Is not this the truth?" They will say: "Yes, by our Lord!" He will then say: "So taste you the torment because you used not to believe." They indeed are losers who denied their Meeting with Allâh (6:29-31)
And if you obey most of those on the earth, they will mislead you far away from Allâh's Path. They follow nothing but conjectures, and they do nothing but lie. (6:116)
And who does more wrong and aggression than he who invents a lie against Allâh or rejects His Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, or revelations)? Verily, the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers,) shall never be successful. (6:21)
These ayats show that noone should trust the foolish comments certain buffoons are creating one this video, as it is no more than conjecture and falsehood.
I'm sure this is obvious to everyone who believes in their Creator.
Being an ex-atheist, I feel sorry for these people who repeat others and base their opinions on "knowledge" that comes straight out of their minds or the one whom they are repeating and believe they are extremely witty and intelligent by doing so.
Think of it this way- Religious people are like mosquitoes. Of course, most people don't waste their time hunting for mosquitoes to kill. But if they're surrounded by mosquitoes that constantly annoy them, they'll most likely smack a few. Atheists who criticize religion are just expressing a normal reaction to the constant barrage of religious insanity that permeates society.
Considering the facts that; Atheists speak about and preach their religions twice as much as 'theists', atheism negatively impacts everything it comes in contact with, and that Atheists are generally more annoying than 'theists'; your comparison fails.
But failure is all we can expect from teenage pseudo intellects with bad attitudes (Also known as Atheists.)
By that definition anything you actively participate in is a religion; you sing in a choir, that's your religion; you build model aeroplanes, that's your religion. Then what isn't a religion? Religion involves a belief in the supernatural, what supernatural beliefs are included in choral singing or model building?
People are only actively atheist because they have to live with the consequences of theism. There are no a-flat earthists because flat earthists are of no consequence in society.
1. a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.
2. a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects: the Christian religion; the Buddhist religion.
I completely agree with this video and I have some of my own videos refuting the very basic assumption made by so many contemporary Atheists today that their Atheism is merely a "lack of belief" in God.
It clearly isn't, since many of them are so obsessed with calling out religious persons as "irrational", "wrong", "delusional", etc.
They apparently don't lack anything since they seem to know so much about and want to belittle the other side.
There's no reality except the one contained within us. That's why so many people live an unreal life. They take images outside them for reality and never allow the world within them to assert itself.
Stereotyping others only hinders a clear worldview. Stereotyping the persons of a group is taking the wrong path. Stereotypes are sometimes formed by a previous illusory correlation, a false association between two variables that are loosely if at all correlated.
Well...I guess I'm not a "religious" atheist. I am more of a changeable atheist, for lack of a better word. I decide what I believe based on what I know, so as I learn more, that may change. And I believe that nothing is impossible, so God /could/ exist.
That person would only 'not collect stamp' because everybody else is. And theyre constantly asking how his stamps are doing, and why certain people cant collect stamps, and why you're an evil person if you collect the wrong stamps, or even worse, no stamps at all, and why stamps weren't invented as a way to pay for your mail, but given by the great stamp collector in the sky, and telling people this should be taught at school.
"when you bereat and belittle all others who believe something differently..."
exactly! i've read several books written by atheists who are so bent on 'converting' people to not believe in God. they use similar tactics to religious people that are trying to convert others: fear, belittlement, hostility, irrational claims...
people who don't believe in God, in spiritual things don't believe. people who think everyone that does believe are dumb are blinded by their own misunderstandings
What you mentioned are atheists and anti-theists, nothing more, nothing less. One is passive, the other is active. No religion involved.
