I just wanna say that I LOVE Jellyfish and this song reminds me SO MUCH to that great band. It's a shame people don't know Andy or Roger, but... wait: I think it's better that way; it makes me feel like I have a beautiful secret...
Somehow I'm not surprised. I think Spilt Milk is "Roger's" album. He came out on that record... was writing a lot too. Andy's solo stuff doesn't sound even remotely close to JF. What does that tells us.
On the box set, Roger does the "Hush" demo all himself. Dude was doing this stuff way early on! Wrote it. It looks like that on Spilt Milk Roger 's songs saw the light of day. Same thing with the first album just more obvious on the second one.
The scene of Roger falling in this vid reminds me a little of the Bellybutton cover art where Roger(like a scene from Mary Poppins) is seen floating or parachuting down from the sky holding an umbrella.. classic!!!
that album is wonderful, if you love jellyfish, you'll love it, the more quirky side of that sound, reviews said think an album of sabrina and paste, and that's not of the mark, andy was the lyricist, but as far as melodies, it's a great great play. and the lyrics are as good as you could want. problem is/was between solid state and land of, there were songs on both that weren't on the other, whyyyy!!!!

When this popped up on Pandora, I never made the connection that he was with Jellyfish even though it was under the Jellyfish channel. No wonder I love this song!
i know what youre talkin about becuz i lov that song and i have the album.and u were right it is called sandman and the album is called the land of pure imagination.its awsome.
It does lack some, like, EDGE, but the guy is without a doubt the most talented songwriter (well, maybe apart from Stevie Wonder, but his arrangements are cheesy and his lyrics are beyond what I can bare). I suggest he teams up with Dweezil Zappa.
@Francologne -- the term: COMPLEX didn't at all enter your mind on the arrangements?! All of his arrangements- "cheesyness" aside - are of the composers/-arrangers dream come true's category! The lyrics are not as "testerone-laden" as u might like them to be be but they are very clever and pretty hard to just come up with. After all this is the man who wrote or co-wrote "Sebrina, Paste, and Plato, "Hush" and many other Jellyfish caallasics!
@popnutty I don't think there is any need to get defensive or insulting here. RJMjr IS onr of the most inventive and talented musicians I know. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. SPILT MILK is my favorite album of all times.
Solid State Warrior/The Land Of Pure Imagination...RECORD OF THE YEAR 2006 in my humble opinion...Sincere & BIG Thanks RJMjr for enlight with yr supertunes a very difficult year..."You were right", a killer track on the record reminds me a long lost song of Andrew Gold mid-70s, another remarkable pop tunesmith...well, that´s very subjective i guess...best to all readers 8-)
This is a great song, I really like his solo albums!

One can imagine that Roger could be singing directly to/ about Andy Sturmer. Metaphorically and figuretively speaking. Cool.

Seems like Roger really misses Jellyfish. Too bad Andy Sturmer has disappeared from the face of the earth...

Kinda? Me thinks Roger is the true voice of Jellyfish.. I'd say that's quite a sound.

This guy got a HUGE talent, since Jellyfish years.
Unfortunately radios and MTV don't like talented people like him.
Roger you got my support 100% you're great.

Nope, but that's because the masses don't like talented people either.

With Roger I never know what instruments are real and what are not he's so good at faking horns/strings.
I have to vote that the banjo is sampled.
