nice work man, wat is the max speed with the mods. i have a 70cc motorized bike (non modified) it goes up to 57kmph so far... im gnna build one like urs in 2014 (hopefully)
YESSSSSSSS MAN YOU ARE A FUCKING GENIUS!!!!!!!! FUCK!! THANK YOU SO MUCH... (enough caps) Thanks dude for this video.. i really need to slap myself in the head for not thinking of something like that.. cause i have the engine kit but i always wanted to figure a way to utilize the gears for more power or top end!... Wow man.. just so awsome that you did this... Your my hero this spring cause im going to do this with my bike i put away for the winter! THANKS AGAIN!!!!
@dog33100 congrats, you are stupid! but shifting is a good thing. imagine if you had a car with only one gear. you could either have a fast top speed but slow acceleration, or fast acceleration and a very slow top speed. having many gears lets you accelerate fast in the low gears, but have a good top speed in the higher gears. got it?
Hey I'm having the same exact problem u did where the the carburetor / air filter assembly is not fitting within the frame. I believe your bike is a "Next" as well just like mine. Where did u get that pipe which lets the carb sit to right of the bike, outside the frame like that ??
@EnFlaMEd Oh my gosh! I'm sorry haha. I went on a video response rampage to show others my build and I only remembered a few names that I posted it to :) I'll definitely check yours out!
@CrazySpaz833 if u do another build check out mototvelo because they have some super cool kits that that are ported and polished and have upgrades that get you to 45 mph really easy
@MrRadioactivePossum It gives great bottom end power. Since I mostly cruise around town, I enjoy having that extra power on the bottom end when keeping up with cars and other motorists. Besides, it sounds great with this big pipe on it :)
@rage10rules Yes. It comes with a new freewheel. The kit comes with everything you will need to put it all on your bike. The only tools it didn't come with was your typical ones you can find in any home shop or garage (which you barely need anyways).
@g3ra912 When this video was taken, it was about 30 mph which was my first couple of rides. Now I'm cruising 35-38mph WOT. I still stay around 30mph though because any faster on a bike just gets creepy haha.
@thebigmann25 I'd say about 7 or 8 mph increase, BUT the whole point of the shift kit is to allow the engine rpm's to run lower while keeping your speed up.
@CrazySpaz833 how do the normal bike parts like the chain and derailer and sprokets keep up with the engine because the chain ad sprokets that come with the kit look and are a lot more purpose and strongly built
@killerrat2010 The chain that comes with the kit is shortened down to just a few links. I'd say 15 or so? I haven't counted.... Besides the regular chain that came with the bike that goes from the back wheel to the middle where the pedals are, all of the other chains are pretty small in length so there is no worry about them not keeping up. You have to make absolutely sure you have your chains perfectly lined up, but other than that the bike keeps up very well.
@killerrat2010 This is also why I only go about 30mph. Any faster and I would feel a little worried that something might get shifted a little. Just always check your bike before you ride! :)
@00through09 I think it works great! It allows me to ride around on some dirt trails near here with EASE and I'm 140lbs now... so I don't know how much of a difference there really is since you are heavier.
@CrazySpaz833 how reliable is your kit? i fabbed up some mounts and mounted everything to a schwinn stingray chopper and my motor lasted a few months? it was a rattle trap. everything was constantly falling off and needed to be tweaked, but i was in 5th grade. now im in 10th and im thinking about rebuilding it and working out the bugs so a friends son can ride it
@paladain55 My setup has worked for me since the day I put it together. Yes, these kits are not as reliable as motorcycle or scooter, but if you just do some regular checkups every now and then, your kit should run great. I would say your kit didn't last as long because you were in 5th grade and maybe you didn't know much about engines at the time? I'm just guessing, not trying to be mean here :) All in all, just take care of it and make sure you put it together right and it will serve you well.
@CrazySpaz833 straight pipes and nitrous sure can ruin a two stroke. haha. all in it taught me a lot and i have now moved onto a motorcycle and a mustang!
Hey dude, sweet bike :D! This looks like the UK? Im from AUS..Im looking at building the exact setup! Ohh you should get a helmet btw...
Im just wondering if you have any tips? im planning on buying a 2nd hand bike for this as my bike wont work D:! Anyways any advice would be greatly appreciated. How long ago did you do this? And have you had any issues? I noticed you have a different front engine mount ? I mean who wants to drill right?
@msconfigexe When this video was made, this was probably the second or third time I ran the bike with the shift kit and expansion chamber. It still runs great to this day!!! I've done little adjustments here and there with the carb and readjusting tension in the chains. Yes, I purchased a "large universal mount" from SBP because my frame was very wide haha.
@msconfigexe Based on the road signs, the vehicles near his house, and the fact that he is riding in the right hand lane I'd say that he is either in the U.S. or Canada.
@FordV8Guy Probably only 8 ish mph increase in speed. I think the shift kit is really designed more for the simplicity of getting to choose the gear you want to run your bike in. Use 1-3 for hill climbing and 3+ for flats. The shift kit just allows you to KEEP that same speed whether you are climbing or cruising down the road.
I'd say I can cruise at 30mph on any type of road.
the 8 mph part is right the kit was made for times when you need more torque then 66cc can make depending on motor about 3 ft lbs of torque well it will help you to go up inclines and will help if you got a 20mph head wind lol its meant for torque and it happens to help speed and make it funner to ride if you want more power on top of that look into boost bottles (helps low end torque), boost industries mini NOS kits they help for short bursts, buy a expansion chamber that helps a lot

Nice build out. I put the same motor on a Giant Rincon...minus the cool shift kit...and it runs like no one's friggin business.

The expansion chamber would work alot better if it was closer to the exhaust port on the cylinder! :)

So how is it that you don't have to peddle the whole time? Does it come with new freewheels?

Great looking bike! What did you use to mount the engine to the fatter diagonal tube?

@ZiiMouf I used a "large universal mount" from Sick Bike Parts. Fits very nicely :)
