I disagree. Although not my cup of tea, it's certainly interesting. The mark of a great song is surely that it transcends the expected and can be performed in different styles, which this certainly achieves.

Throwing more fuel on the fire, remember when Lyle Lovett's version of "Stand By Your Man" was first released and everyone thought "a MAN? singing THAT?" It's a whole different song with a man singing.

Nouvelle Vague aren't a pretty, brainless muppet boy band so when they cover a classic their put their own unique twist to it.This is in fact a brilliant cover of a brilliant song given new life.
