This kind of music reminds me that my life has never been easy and therefore I take pride in renditions like these that keeps me in the know that life is a continuous struggle and we must seek to embrace the path that took us here. My final thought, a beautiful and strong black woman with a beautiful voice. God Bless

God dosent see a "black women" singing. he see's a women. comments like this are why segregation is still alive. Because you choose to believe your different. Dont use comments lik e"God Bless" when its in vain because your praising a color over another. There wont be colors in heaven.

  • Beautiful voice...classic voice. This is the way the song was intended to be sung. People who are leaving negative comments probably haven't been exposed to this raw soul singing before. This is so fabulous. Truly gifted! :-)

I got it Mahalia Jackson is who you remind me of!!

  • @jewelz2k5 Thank you so much

  • This Queen Lady Mae's New Youtube Site , check it out and become her friend and pass this link along youtube.com/user/QueenLadyMae

  • I wish that people would stop embracing the word "diva." It means "impossible person." Of course, everyone chooses words, no one uses the dictionary to look up their definitions. Your voice is too fabulous. You don't need to be associated with the word. Her voice is haunting, lilting and stirring. She reminds me of Oleta Adams with a higher range.

  • @ladyg0726 thanks for your kind and real heart felt remarks, everbody does not acknowledge talent when they see it or they just get jealous and say rude things, but I, "Queen lady Mae" says to you God Bless You in every walk of your life.

  • Lady Mae: This is one of my all time fav songs and u sing it just fantastic!

    hugs

    Hilde

  • oooommmmggg WTF!!

  • that was AMAZIN

  • beautiful.

  • OMG I feel like I literally went back in time. I loved it!

  • That was sooo beautiful

  • mahalia jackson, marian anderson and nina Simone mixed together and emerging from one woman all at once...do you have any cds for sale?

  • so cold

  • tay zonday doesnt know shit about music or singing

    but this is really good

  • And what I love is that you actually sing the song as it was sung in the 1840s.

The original was not sung like Aretha Franklin or Whitney Houston. This is 100% soul, loving the blue notes like there's no shame. And the amazing thing is you still end in the same western key that you began in after owning every midtone pitch on the scale for five minutes.

  • Yeah I agree. I love how she sings it like they did back then. Wow... this is amazing.. I love it!

  • Thanks so much, it is always good when someone special recognizes your gift.. do go on my blog and listen to an excerpt from my new cd. I am also prepareing to release an aqepella cd, just my voice and a very small amount of sound affects. I am an indie artist, my dream is to perform with the top notch artist soon..

  • I was listening to your version of Trouble of the world. OMG you sound like Mahalia Jackson. I guess one time in a million

  • This is beautiful. It is very unique. It is indescribable. You are a master of blue notes.

  • Interesting!very

  • WOW

  • Thanks so much

  • her runs are exquisite. how do u describe her voice? She is not an Alto...help me out someone

  • I am honored, thanks

  • @visiblemccord Her voice would be considered a high alto aka Second Soprano.

  • @visiblemccord contra alto

  • Beautiful Lady Mae... Beautiful Voice...
