i think the blow off valve needs to open a bit further because it sounds like the turbo flutters a bit too much, i wouldnt want to damage the bearings in that turbo :S

I want to see someone run a motor horsepower test on both of those motors. I have a good feeling that they are not making what they are rated at.

@badass7rr I've been to many tuner/ ricer drag races, and enjoy watching their body kit covered weedwackers get blown away by muscle cars. It's all about physics. First, RWD will always dominiate FWD all the time b/c physcially, it requires less energy to push an object rather than to pull it. Straight-line performance with FWD is in the bucket. Second 4 cyl. engines, no matter how tuned, they WILL always lack sufficient torque. 3rd, weedwackers dont sound intimidating.

They run the complete stock 5.4 block as well as the stock heads putting 2200rwhp down, and down steady enough to run back to back runs down the mile, that 700whp k20 wouldn't last one run.. Kind of like AMS's monster of an evo that ran 228 then blew up, and that 4G63 is the greatest 4banger to ever be.

Note to all you ricer/ tuner douches, this 4 banger does NOT have 900 hp...it's not possible. Its not like the poster cant lie about the horsepower rating. At the crank..this 4 cyl. probably has...300 horsepower..maybe. Now connect the engine to the wheels, and you have 250 horsepower. V8's are the only way to go...they have more hp/torque, last longer, and sound beautiful. When I drive my car I wanna be reminded that I have power, not that i have to cut my lawn.

Lets say hypothetically these ricers had as much horsepower as they say...that hp is merely bhp..so if you translate it to whp (especially FWD cars), they lose 25%-50% of their hp. These fag ricers have to learn that, you cant drop a turbo into a car and expect to run low 11's. Real performance comes from well-tuned, torque monster v8's, not 1.6L turbo engines...

I like import and European cars over American personally. Others like American over import. It's all about the look, sound, handling and performance you like personally. G Power claimed 25,000 $ for 230hp more at engine modification. If you want 730 bhp M5 you need wheels, tires, and brakes for that power. So price growing to over 80,000 $ + standard M5 price, that's about more than 200,000 $ -250,ooo$. Proper engineered modification at 900 bhp would cost about 50,000$ at BMW tuners.
@Soldier19KTanker There aren't many 1000WHP STis, if at all running consistently. The boxer motor just doesn't support that kinda power for long without throwing a rod or spinning a bearing.

However, there are full interior street driven Supra's in the 7 second quarter mile range. That's impressive. Owning Lamborghini's and Ferrari's on the freeways with the top end the Supra is more then capable of and going grocery shopping when you get off the freeway...priceless.

I want to see someone run a motor horsepower test on both of those motors. I have a good feeling that they are not making what they are rated at.

@badass7rr I've been to many tuner/ ricer drag races, and enjoy watching their body kit covered weedwackers get blown away by muscle cars. It's all about physics. First, RWD will always dominiate FWD all the time b/c physcially, it requires less energy to push an object rather than to pull it. Straight-line performance with FWD is in the bucket. Second 4 cyl. engines, no matter how tuned, they WILL always lack sufficient torque. 3rd, weedwackers dont sound intimidating.

During the muscle car age, it wasnt uncommon to say your Chevelle was pushing 850+ hp, with little modifications.

They run the complete stock 5.4 block as well as the stock heads putting 2200rwhp down, and down steady enough to run back to back runs down the mile, that 700whp k20 wouldn't last one run.. Kind of like AMS's monster of an evo that ran 228 then blew up, and that 4G63 is the greatest 4banger to ever be.

At the crank..this 4 cyl. probably has...300 horsepower..maybe. Now connect the engine to the wheels, and you have 250 horsepower. V8's are the only way to go...they have more hp/torque, last longer, and sound beautiful. When I drive my car I wanna be reminded that I have power, not that i have to cut my lawn.

Lets say hypothetically these ricers had as much horsepower as they say...that hp is merely bhp..so if you translate it to whp (especially FWD cars), they lose 25%-50% of their hp. These fag ricers have to learn that, you cant drop a turbo into a car and expect to run low 11's. Real performance comes from well-tuned, torque monster v8's, not 1.6L turbo engines...

I like import and European cars over American personally. Others like American over import. It's all about the look, sound, handling and performance you like personally. Each one has it's own advantages.

G Power claimed 25,000 $ for 230hp more at engine modification. If you want 730 bhp M5 you need wheels, tires, and brakes for that power. So price growing to over 80,000 $ + standard M5 price, that's about more than 200,000 $ -250,ooo$. Proper engineered modification at 900 bhp would cost about 50,000$ at BMW tuners.

@DontTakeItCirrusly Because nobody has made one yet. The Supra holds the Super Car status now, has appreciated in value and is a collector. Nobody has turned one into a top fuel dragster. However, there are full interior street driven Supra's in the 7 second quarter mile range. That's impressive. Owning Lamborghini's and Ferrari's on the freeways with the top end the Supra is more then capable of and going grocery shopping when you get off the freeway...priceless.

It reminds me of when 9 second Honda's were trying to prove their worthiness back in the early 2000's where as the Ecotec Cavaliers came out and it wasn't 2 weeks after were they making more power and running quicker 4 banger slips than the Civic's off half the price. The same 350 used in the LT1 Camaro/Firebird/Corvettes of the Supra's timeframe, that all sold for at least $10k less than the Supra, with similar performance. ++ nobody ever made a 1000hp, 4.0 Liter Cherokee motor and ever dropped it into.... Let's say a Pontiac Fiero, some 'frankensteins' have yet to prove their worth.

In that generation it's impossible to compare 6 cylinders from Jap. to USA. 95 Supra Turbo = 50k+, 2005 Crossfire SRT6 = 45k+, you could never pick up a new Supra for less than 60k at the moment, the price of a dollar is shit compared to then.

@Venom1965 JDM Supras aren't any better than USDM ones, in fact they're rated 276hp, USDM has 320. Why not take a stock non turbo Supra and pin it against a stock Crossfire? How come your's gets forced induction and mine doesn't? Both are stock cars, both come with factory warranties. Why not pay 1/3rd the price of a Supra and get a Trans Am? Supra was crazily overpriced for it's time, thats why it died. No one realizes that cause the ones who want Supra's now, were mostly 5 years old then

@05civicsi215 The D- Series single Cam Honda Engine can NOT handle more the 390 HP With out having Bottom end and Reliability issues! Even with a built Crank and rods the Crank Girdle cannot handle the torque or Power. And 2 I'm A 31 year Women! My Father Built and Tuned Just about Every make and Model!
