  • It always pains me to see these videos. Is is Marie Cole still alive?

  • music is art , art doesnt have hatred , it is only expression , let the hate go ppl

  • She is her Mother Maria's Daughter...Maria was just a bit phoney and I felt that she had a "High, Bright and leaning toward's White" attitude. Love Natalie, not so much this off spring.

  • Search for "Alan Lawson Fuck You" for a badass cover of Cee-lo's Fuck You!

  • great idea, but the final outcome wasn't as great. i loved maybe 3 tracks out of 20. Luch life was sure the best. i made a video out of it, since it gave me hot feelings indeed. But on the other hand, tracks like The nature boy one were horrible !

  • I'm gonna go to Paris and throw glitter and spray paint on the "mona lisa"

we need to take that piece of art to the "next level"

who cares if it's already a masterpiece.

It won't happen because people in charge of the "mona lisa" know it's a masterpiece and protect it.

this is about adding to "bank accounts" without the blessing of the creator of the artwork.

    sad daughters.

  • that was a good take, you dont too many good takes on youtube vids

  • @aknowneemus If you knew the talent of many of these artists in the proper contects, you would know how far from the truth your "glitter and spray paint" comment was. Also, it's easy to say something is a "Masterpiece" when everyone else is saying it. I mean really? How often does some bourgeois douchebag say some piece of OLD jazz, or OLD art is a masterpiece. NKC is legendary, no doubt, but you have no real appreciation for art, just the ability to regurgitate popular beliefs.

  • @aknowneemus context*

  • wow, what a sell out on the daughters part.

    pretty damm obvious.

if you can't see this is just for money, you must be blind!

  • well put

  • People who claim all music comes from sampling,

Who did sweet pea "sample" this song from?

You wouldn't wear second hand shoes, or sleep on second hand bed sheets.

Look at works of art or movies, can you imagine a Picasso being re-done?

Or a piece of a movie being used in a modern, new realease?

Music is the only place where people allow this to happen.

Why would you settle for music that's rehashed from a hit that someone else wrote?

  • @aknowneemus All music doesn't come from sampling. However, using the word "rehashed" is an incorrect view of what artists do with samples; they are "expanding" upon them. Some of the greatest songs of all time have already been made; whats wrong with using other works to make something new? Picasso went and did his own version of the Mona Lisa, he did a rendition of Diego Valazquez's 'Las Mininas'; music is not the only place where this happens. You gonna call his work mistakes?

  • @ChargeLama

when natalie did the 'remake' of 'unforgettable' with nat, it sounded EXACTLY like the original, but with natalie's voice added.

When she got these 'retards' to 'remake' her dads music, it sounded NOTHING like the original. All of a sudden we hear drum beats, loops.a rap or two, etc.

go back to bed lama, youre just practicing your typing.

  • @aknowneemus Alright; first let me address this logical issue: for starters you didn't serve to argue any of my points. For that you fail. Furthermore, this is the point of 'remaking'; you change it up. While her singing with her father was nice, the point is to add some new elements.

Secondly, let me explain why you're an ass: I spewed no insults or condescending notions, yet your ability to argue is so lacking you feel the need to. STFU and GTFO the internet if you can't do it right.

  • @aknowneemus And for the record, my typing is quite eloquent and nice as it is; I don't need practice. Kthanxbai.

  • her death is the best thing that could happen to mister cole's music.

she obviously sold her father out.

  • @julieyard1 the worst thing to happen to music is the notion that talented artists paying homage to talented artists is a bad thing. or i should say that "elitism" is the worst thing to happen to music, and art in general. and people like you are at fault. music is about emotion, not status, or dogmatic stagnancy.

  • @julieyard1 they didnt produce the album so that people who ALREADY loved NKC's music could love him more, they did it so that people who dont listen to the genre can buffer into it or so current,open-minded fans can experience the culmination of multiple love's. additionally, I'm sickened, and you should honestly be SHAMED by the fact that you say she sold him out, yet YOU and everyone who "thumbed" this up are praising his OWN DAUGHTER's death. do you honestly think he would agree with you?

  • I thought this was a joke at first.

carole bit the dust before she could ruin any more of Nats music. i think Nat is lookin down and saying "thank god McCartney owns most of my portfolio"

  • ya i dont think nat would be too keen on

todays black music al la rap /hip hop/house/whatever

he`d probably like sade(shar day) type stuff and not ,yo smack da bitch in the hood, blah blah blah shit

  • wtf is this bullshit?

vh1, we dont' want to hear what idiot artists think about shit they don't know, we just want to hear the music

    k?kkthxbye

  • It's a noble cause, but this kind of music just is not the King's style. I seriously doubt the statement that these are the people he'd really want to work with.

I love the man and his music. I think it sounds best just the way he made it.

  • Amen, his daughter needs a job and quit selling Daddy out.

  • I hope thats the artist white Ford in the lot there. Obviously, somebody not too concerned with OVERSPRAY. lol

  • good music has no age limits......thanks for the reminder...this album( and I am re-listeniing to the original).....lov'in it!

  • i AM 19 AND i LOVE THAT THEY ARE DOiNG THiS. i HAVE OLDER PARENTS AND i GREW UP LiSTENING TO NAT KiNG COLE...SO THiS iS MOS DEF KOOL...THiS WiLL BE A HOT ALBUM

  • This is far from an abomination... Legends bridging the gap between legends.... its not like they have Lil Wayne or T.I. on there----- they have legends like Cee-Lo Green, Nas, The Roots, other great sounds like TV on the Radio... c'mon dude open it up a bit

  • Exactly. I dont know why people can't accept new music. Just living in the past. Of course nothing beats the original, but they can sure as hell keep his legend alive and maybe bring his music to younger people that'll want to find out more about him

  • Nat is truely the King, he deserves to be remembered, for GENERATIONS to come.

  • Watching Natalie right now on Tavis Smiley and she mentioned this recording. This might be pretty good!

  • Hey NYTN!!

I think you might be right. I gotta hear their treatment of Lush Life.

  • I am a huge fan of nat king cole since i was 15 years old... i am 33 now. i am all for this approach it is long overdue....

  • I'm enrolled. This sparks the imagination of the current generation.

  • This is AWESOME! Thank you for remixing Nat!!!
