I played trombone in the orchestra (in Oklahoma City) on Richard's last tour as Arthur in the stage production of Camelot. It was a joy. Every time he sang this wonderful Lerner and Lowe song I felt inspired. He made the lyrics even more meaningful than they already were. He was directing the show, too. I saw him rehearse the actors once. And he was brilliant.
This is the worst tribute I have seen for such a talented actor- Harry Potter, Harry Potter, Harry fucking potter... I mean that is an insult to Richard Harris- maybe add clips from movies like " Man called horse" more of "The Field" etc- but Harry Potter- He'd roll in his grave!!
Nobody but Sir Richard Harris should be allowed to sing MacArthur Park, anyone else is sacreligous, because he put his whole being into it and made you feel what he was feeling !!!!!! TenStarsplus !!!! RIP Sir Richard Harris !!!!!!!!!
somebody knows a song by richard harris probably called slides? If so please let me know. R Harris was the image of a great actor and singer that will remain allways on our mind
im 20 years old and ever since i saw him in the Count of Monte Cristo as the priest i was hooked.... i loved his acting and him, his look, his attitude, he was what i like to call a "bad boy" because u could look at him and kno tht he didnt give shit about what people thought and i believe thts a good thing, if u wanna get things done, he'd do it, he had bundles of confidence and he was very talented AND he came from Ireland, im half Irish myself and his name makes me proud to say im half Irish
thank you so much. i was born in 69 and always held him up as the quintecential man. this video was a fitting tribute to the man i always saw as king arthur.thx.
Extraordinary! I miss you Sir Richard. What a man, what a talent, what a character!! - My first LOVE - Camelot, MacArthur Park - all the Jimmy Webb songs, all the Merv Griffin shows (with Malachy) - all of the movies you should have, but didn't, get an Academy Award - may you RIP - I still cannot believe you're gone.
We knew him as Dickie Harris in the early 50's as he made his presence known at the Limerick dances, he was always on-stage. The girls would say "look at Dickie Harris showing off". In 1967 my husband surprised me with 2 tickets to Camelot's opening (sold out) in New York and I just loved it, the audience stood up and clapped at the end of the movie. I thought he should have received 'best actor' for Fields. Very nice tribute.
Loved the tribute, I got to meet him once and got a kiss along with an autograph. He was great. However, it would have been nicer with him singing something from Camelot. The Richard Burton singing kind of detracted from it. MAA
Great tribute to one of the world's finests performers, not only he played many demanding roles but sang one of the greatests songs ever: Mac Arthur Park.
i believe you've got the wrong version of 'how to handle a woman' here. sounds remarkably like richard burton. harris' version doesn't sound like this.
Quietly put, a class act...Poetry rekindled in the gentlest Irish way. The fire within the eyes of the spirit of a dear person who had much to offer and left us with a smile and a tear.
His voice would be so relaxing when I would be troubled or in a sad mood. I will deeply miss his presents, but I have his films and music to treasure for the rest of my life.
A brilliant actor and great singer, He sang a great song called "McArthur Park" and his performance as "Bull McCabe" in Jim Sheridan's Irish-made film "The Field" was outstanding.
he is the real dumbledore nd a wonderful personality just like dumbledore

Very nice tribute to one of the greatest actors of all time.
Pity, You have not used Harris' own version of this lovely song - He did it much better than Burton.
A small mistake on the way: "Camelot" with Richar Harris and Vanessa Redgave is from 1967, not '82 ;-)
