Can you get in trouble for having the guns outside?, and what if you were to put a couple of blanks through it? I imagine it would be troublesome.. I wish I had guns laws like this, unfortunately i will probably never own a fully auto gun unless i move :(
Really nice mate. What is the maker on the new MG34? Curious about the year and number/letter code on it. Is it matching? The aluminium grips on the old 34 are still a unknown area of study, some experts say it's post-war replacements (Israel got tons of 34's after WW2) and others say they were used only in armor vehicles. At any rate the other two guns are nice as well.
@C2builder Hmmmm...the grips on the MG42 are brown Bakerlite type. The one's on the new MG34 are black painted aluminium. I'll send you some pics of the markings. They are all matching, but the feedplate has what looks like a replacement number etched into it. Probably a replacement.
I'm a member of the Portuguese Arms collectors association so if you are interested in finding out more about the weapons providence I might be able to help
@JSSW183 Thank You! The Collectors Grade book says the one's retained for service in the German Army are generally pretty bashed about. This one isn't - so probably a Portugese Army issue. Serial No Q8252.
If not mistaken, I believe the K98 to be a Portuguese contract rifle. They imported some here in the states some years back and they were absolutely MINT condition.
As much as I'm interested in the weapons, I'd love to see a few videos about your cars! I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure your Healey is not a 3000. Is it a Mk I Sprite? The lack of door handles is throwing me. Looks to be a real beauty. How's the electrical system? (assuming that you or a previous owner didn't replace it)
That is definitely a Portuguese Recall rifle, the crest is unmistakable. Very nice and peculiar piece! I'd buy that MG34 right off you if the ATF wouldn't hack the receiver apart.
@dannyboyj644 Appologies, you may well be right, I've paused the video no end of times. I seem to have got it in just the right place now, I spent too long looking at the stamp on the reciever when it's a lot clearer on the stock.
I love how you use your beautiful cars as a backdrop for your superb collection of World War II firearms. You know I'm a big fan of both. Thanks for sharing. I've enjoyed the thorough explanation of kit worn and different variations used. Shit, I may even buy one of the recommended books LOL. Seriously though, great work.
It will be interesting to see what you find out about the crest on the 98, I know the Yugoslavian 98's had a crest on them. Hard to make out even in freeze frame but it doesn't look like a Yugoslav crest, and it wouldn't be stamped up as Mauser. Could be an Argentine crest, worth checking. The MG34 does look immaculate, you don't see many like that anymore.
I've wanted to own an Artillery variant Luger for some time. I'm a bit skittish about owning and firing one with the holster/buttstock attached though.
Would it be rude to ask where you found that luger or where someone could find a luger in that condition? PM if you wish to keep it private.
The crest I believe means that it was a Portuguese contract gun. With the start of Barbarossa, the Germans needed every rifle they could get, so they repossessed the Portuguese rifles.
Its a Portuguese crest alright.

What does a luger in that kind of condition for got now a days?
Bandanabandito1 1 month ago
Ted, your Mauser is a Portuguese contract gun which was rerouted to the Whermacht in 41/42.

I though it said 1940 on the luger? The "42" should mean that it is manufactured by mauser. But I am no expert. Awesome P08 :)

@nzww2buff sweet! I've always wanted one of those after seeing one at a local "car museum" seems like it would be a hot little car.

Wait, don't sell the MG just yet. Brilliant idea, you need a dual MG34/42 anti-aircraft mount for both of them. Now that would be a bit of badassery!

Keep uploading videos in HD! Just think of how important the little intricate details are and how they don't get picked up in 360/480p.

@Harmon1ca It's an Austin Healey 100M (1954). They only made about 600 of 'em. It's been fully reconditioned, so everything works - for the moment!
