no one but no one has came in and bettered this girl called Francoise Hardy, l really mean NO ONE ..Adore you woman..Allan from Bonny Scotland..Merry Christmas....
The lyrics in French are completely different, the song is about how she still loves a guy who has done her wrong and she wants him back (je veux qu'il revienne). The difference in tone and content between the English lyrics and French lyrics tells you all you need to know about the differences between these cultures.

Pesonnally..I prefer the French Version........Maybe because French Language goes well with Poetry more than English...In my opinion; English is more rigid more scientific.....French seems to be more Poetical, Full of Imagination, more Litterary......I don't certify that mu Opinion is available 100 per cent....If possible, comment on my View
@Amanzi1 I was less than ten when my father brought a Francoise Hardy album home. It had this song on it and I am so surprised to find that I still remember all the words, some 40 years later. Found again, totally by accident. Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
My parents tell me a girl who used to babysit me, would bounce me on her knee and sing this song to me. I must have been a handsome young devil!!! Great song.
France Gall is a good place to start. If you like the Era, check out Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin. Sylvie vartan is also from that era, but not my favourite.
When I was a todler I'm told my babysitter used to bounce me on her knee singing this song to me and according to my parents I loved it. Having listened to this today at the age of 45 I must say I had great taste. Thanks for sharing.
Its funny how we who are in our 40's have these early memories of Francoise's songs. This is also one I remember as a small kid. I remember singing this one myself .. LOL.
LPレコードのジャケット、素晴らしい表情をしていました。英語の発音がなんとも可愛らしい。

If Francoise Hardy ever made a bad record, I have yet to hear it. This is right up there with "La Maison" as one of her best!

This is another one I remembered ALL the words to, even though I must have been around 6 or 7 at the time. I just loved it

I love this song. Brings back primary school memories, not all good, but this song and 98.6 by Keith were favourites of my later primary days.

Amusant que "je veux qu'il revienne" soit devenu "only you can do it"... Un peu plus explicite !

Nice song! English versions are better because French language hurts ears, and English can be understood by everyone I think.

LOL Zosia! I love the French versions more than anything. In fact, ms Hardy''s music was the inspiration for me to learn French :)
