  • I wonder if I can still send away for that record.

  • Bouffants, Flips and Bobs!

  • We danced to anything back in the days LOL :)

  • This was entertaining, but let's look at the reality of it all "SOUL TRAIN" trumps any dance show that has ever aired!!! ...I'm just saying....

  • Is it just me, or does every single girl in this video have an AWESOME hairdo?!? The guys are dweebs, but all those girls are rockin' the awesome hairdos, especially the tall blonde at 1:50 . Thanks for sharing!

  • The Horse was a sizable hit back in '68. I totally remember this era even if I was only 12.

  • From what I've learned, after hearing about this song from a friend whom danced to it in Jr-high (And got into big trouble for how she was dancing) is that it was originally released in '59. Can't believe it took 9-yrs to catch-on. Even harder to believe is how lame the dancing those kids were doing was, in light of what a frenetic hip-shaker parts of that song were. I know it's '60s-t.v., but still.

  • Very interesting!

  • Is it hard to dance in either high heels or dress shoes or is every 1968 teen from Steubenville a stiff dancer?

  • nice barrette! LOL!

    whoooooooaaaaaaahhhhh!

  • Boy that looks like fun, I never danced to the horse but you know I will be checking out this video often until I master those steps, thanks for posting and sharing and that goes for my good friend customkey for sending it to me!!!

  • @jimmyscomedyshop I fyou want to learn to do it right, go to a Big Red Football Game! It's the only place I've ever been that captures true hometown spirit and support the local football team like no place else!

  • @nottonite Cool sounds like a plan,, let me hop on my horse and scoot right on domn, lol, hey thanks for this reply and have a great week!!!!!,

  • This is where the Big Red band of Steubenville got that jam .....When they play that it rocks ...

  • @cotatijsk --youre another example of a YT fatmouth---

  • @Passerby1100 Taking this too seriously

  • It's like a cartoon where the characters just repeat the same moves over and over again.

  • I Miss the 60's

  • That looks like so much fun. I miss the 1960s.

  • i want to mail $2.50 to that address an see what happens.

  • I have that record! I got it over 10 years ago at a thrift shop. It's not very good...all of the songs are done by people you've never heard of before.

  • LoL, thats a bummer

  • @taffy8davenport You're an idiot, you know.

  • @Khultan Oh really? Why? The record is one of those thrown-together compilations of what was then popular songs, but recorded by studio musicians. Example: Lady Madonna was not sung by the Beatles on that record. LIsten at 4:00. Does that sound like The Beatles to you? Might want to know what you're actually talking about before you go around slamming strangers.

  • @taffy8davenport Why would 'people you've never heard of before' be something to denounce?!? Egads, man, are you fucking nuts?!?

  • @NJHater LOL!

  • Wow, this is great! Why can't we just go back in time?

  • Wow! Those teens are really cuttin loose!

  • A much simpler time--I miss those days.

  • I remember my brother wrote me from Vietnam in 1968/69 asking me to buy him this record for when he came home which he did. I still have the 45 RPM record today but sadly lost my big brother in 92.

  • Man I just love this tune! I love Booker T's version does anyone have the audio track?

  • looks like their Kaopectate is kicking in.

  • Funny to hear her talk about Steubenville shows.. reminds me of The Wonders.

  • ROFL AT 1:29 look at the dude with glasses... FUNKY dancing!

  • I love the horse!

    Great song!

  • Lol...

    Thanks for the flashback.

It's funny how some of the plaid shorts are still in style. :0

    Interesting dancing too.

  • Everything comes back. My newest glasses are similar to the ones worn in this video.

  • This was cool to see

    Thanks.

  • OMG! This is so Cool to watch...the styles alone are just amazing and some of the chicks are kinda hot too.

  • That was fun to watch!

  • That gal at :48 was pretty ... xD

  • Imagine that; these were the same kids who would be dancing to The Village People and Vicki Sue Robinson tracks

  • Really?

  • and PIX ought to bring back those Four-Star-Final 12:30 am newscasts, too.

Just slides, an announcer and some tape inserts.

  • We did the Camel Walk to this

  • hahahaha how can you not believe this is what we use to pump up our fans! it sounded sweet like that too. Oh big red band, how i miss marching season.

  • haha this funny. im in big red band.

it's funny that we use this song to get the fans pumped up. :)

  • Okay well, I live in Steubenville, Ohio so I recognize this song. This is played every football season by the Big Red Band a.k.a "The Best Band In Buckeye Land" and never forget it.

  • I would love to hear from someone who is in this video. They're sooooo cute.

  • We had a diifferent dance style to the Horse. It looked more like holding the reins while riding a horse and than crossing the opposite hand/arm back and forth like a whip. LOL

  • yep..that was 1968!!!

  • Thaks for the post. looking for all things second half 60's. I have the vocal version of this song, too

  • This was a great clip. I applaud everyone for trying to emulate Cliff's dance. They didn't quite hit the mark but who can blame them - no one can do the horse quite like Cliff. Cliff, the man, THE LEGEND!!!! He lives on.

  • all right now get down

  • yes sexymama 1966 there is another version of the horse. My Father knew all those dances and my Mom used to tell him he was gonna throw his back out...too funny..but the man could dance!!!!

  • LOL! 'Dance has evolved'. I should coco!

  • dancing has evolved

  • wow that was sweet...lol

  • wonderful , look like a futurist club

  • i thought the dance went another way..veeeeery interesting

  • Nehru collars!! I remember them!

  • Dextys midnight runners did this....chek it out !!!!

  • This is all the generic versions of these songs with none of the real artists. I hated when they tried to pull a fast one on you with these fake albums, lol

  • My Father used to dance to this!!!!get on your horse...Oh God The Horror!!!!

  • and how many of us remembr playing this over and over and over again at high school pep rallys??? you were esp popular if you were a drummer on the solo part like i was!! talk about "back in the day"!!!

  • nice big hair!!!

  • If WPIX in NY really wanted to celebrate their birthday, they'd air this show (or its NY counterpart) all week, along with Perry Mason and Time Tunnel re-runs..after 11pm,

replacing the "Friends" and "South Park"

    re-runs!

  • I was about 7 when this song came out so I had no memory of a dance that went to this song. Too cool!

  • This is brill! Great stuff

    Thanx.

  • Good stuff, reminds us when Steubenville was great.

  • thanks for posting.. interesting video!

  • and I love that you can buy an LP record in the commercial at the end of this video for a whopping $2.50... wow..

  • Great song and video. WOW what a difference 40years make.

    Thanks For Adding

  • Awesome stuff! The world was young and local tv was fun!
