Nice photos and music about my home city, if you come to Portugal again, and want to explore outside Lisbon, I suggest visiting the medieval town of "Óbidos":

It's the only remaining portuguese town, with the castle walls inner circle, followed by the secondary walls outer circle protecting the village; founded by the celts, conquered by the romans, again by the visigoths, and later by the arabs, finally conquered by Portugal.

They have anual festivities, jousts, etc.

Try the Rosetta Stone it is very helpful. My wife and I are going to Lisbon in a week and have enjoyed learning some of the language. I think our biggest problem will be returning to the USA as we will probably not want to get on that plane.

I second everyone's comments! I visited Portugal alone for 10 days last October and absolutely fell in love. Lisbon is an amazing city and Sintra is also lovely. I also visited Lagos, Salema and Evora and had a wonderful time overall. Fado was my favorite part about it.

That was lovely, Portugal is wonderful! Portuguese people are the coolest and most inviting people you could meet anywhere the planet, My only problem there was eating too much .... of everything! How can food be that good? Cod balls and gorgeous little cakes in coffee shops... A few hundred ways to cook cod too... I tried as many as I possibly could until I discovered the sausages OMG I have the munchies :) Muito obrigado.
