What a lying sack! Reason for not sharing data is NOT intellectual property rights (IPR). How come after reviewing 10 years of emails we don't SEE ANY REGULAR reference to using IPR as reason for not sharing data? 10 years of emails shows NEVER that IPR was regular discussed as the reason for not sharing data. In fact, emails do state that if they cannot reject freedom of information requests, then data should be deleted. Only time IRP is mentioned is if freedom requests fail as a stall tatic.

A lot of the Emails are "scrutiny from all sides of the debate", the peer review process at work, questioning the data's validity and the accuracy of each others research

In this particular case, it is totally irrelevant whether a person has climatology or physics as their educational background. I have tertiary qualifications in both these fields, however any person who can comprehend written ENGLISH can see that something is very wrong with those scientists at the top of the climate change debate. I have also been studying this problem for a long time. It's not just the general public who are rejecting the theory of AGW, it's also many credible scientists, who, as the emails show, were suppressed using corrupt, utterly appalling tactics. Although being literate in climate science undoubtedly helps understanding the more technical aspects of the emails, I think the average person understands what suppression, manipulation, dishonesty and arrogance is when they see it.

But you sure understand, how discredible it'll be for climatology in global (and for many,many good sciencist as well). So I'll be extremly cautious with fast judgments made by anybody... The solution is much greater transparency. This scandal will undoubtedly have negative effects for climate scientists in general, so the best thing they can do is develop policies that lead to greater transparency and scrutiny from all sides of the debate. If the science is sound, it'll ultimately weather whatever is thrown at it. This is the way the scientific method is supposed to work.

Study the works of Fred Singer, John Christy, Roy Spencer, Tim Ball, William Kininmonth etc... Normally, skeptics in the public research this more than the gullible believes because skepticism isn't widely presented in the media, so naturally you have to dig deeper.
