  • i love sleeping on this ship with the scc (sea cadet corps.)

  • Nah There Is No Engine Anymore, But She Is Getting Towed Away In Winter And Arrives Back Into Portsmouth In April 2011.

While She Is Away Her Dock Is Being Pushed Back Further Few hunder meters so cruise liners/ ferrrys can get past her easier which the royal navy isnt paying for, Brittany Ferries Is :)

Just thought id share that info with you guys !

  • I know they've taken the weapons off, but is all the engine room still intact?

  • Try serving for a full two years on her... :-) i did...

  • @dominiconlinecom My last sea draft and was my best, was only on there for 10 months prior to going to refit in 84 but had a great time, almost made me stay in the Mob because of it!! have some great friends from time onboard, also go to the annual reunions when I can.

  • This weekend I'll be there! 2403 Aldermaston squadron.

  • Nice one Kenny. Well done.

ex PPO Ben big mouth Hemstock.

    Notts unit.

  • The British uniforms are the same as the Canadian sea cadets but I think ours look more sharp because we crease ours. Unless the british sea cadets do too inwhich case, these guys need to do a better job.

  • can not wate for this trip 09 im going with sutton sea scouts

  • my dad went around the world on this ship. he said it is the best ship he ever served on

  • ok this ship is very rare because it is the only type82 destroyer and belive it because it is true

  • She was a bit jinxed actually. Had a major flood that nearly tipped her over and a boiler room explosion that I believe killed 1 stoker. Did some work on her and she was an impressive ship.

  • @carefreesteve I served on her the time of the boiler explosion (1984), I was killick of the Sea Dart section, and no a stoker didnt die, his name was MEM(M) Jones (cant remember his first name now) but he was badly injured, suffered serious head injury. The major flood was as a result of a fire in engine/boiler room in the early 70's as the water wasnt pumped out as quick as it should have been, hence the flood The port passeway on 3 deck used to be an "iron" deck when I served on her.

  • @SsnakeD23 Thanks for the clarification.

  • Looks more crappy in the RN that what we have in The Royal Norwegian Navy ( talking about the Oslo class)

    Poor sods!

  • in all fairness she is only a training ship now and doesn't sail. She's getting on a bit as well.

  • So no more: "hold fast"? I see your point....but it is still a beutifull ship!

  • The birstol is amazing. :]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]

  • Whay It's Me With My Bleach In Lol
