  • Awesome! Thanks for writing about this, Phil. I'm Googling Strumstick now...

  • yippee neighbor!

  • Nice job, lads. Now, if only they made an electric strum stick for us hard rockers. BTW, not the first time I've seen Andy play the chair. Drum Circle @ Sea Cliff...can't beat that. (Pun intended.)

  • What "making" music is all about. On another note, good thing the grandfather's clock wasn't nearby.

  • Very cool, and you did it w/o beer! Way to go.

  • Very fun! That strum stick is way cool.

  • For those who might be interested, this music video was written up in a blog post on PCWorld today.

  • And the strumstick ?

    What a beautiful thing!

  • I just now had a vision of Andy sitting on a bass drum while keeping time on the chairs *grin* ... MARVELOUS VIDEO!

What a pretty li'l tune and with such simple instrumentation.

    Can't wait to share this!

Thank you tons, Phil, for sharing with us through your most interesting article.

  • There's just enough time to make music -- if you take the time! Way to go, guys. Some of the best music isn't on our iPods, it's in our own hands. Keep it up.

  • I dig this. Would love to hear the lyrics a bit better though. Love the simplicity though.

  • Just posted the lyrics today in the description area of the video. Thanks! :)

  • Great stuff...simple and pure!

  • Aww. Sweet & Simple

Sweet song! It would make a great singalong with a group of people. Nice sounds on unusual instruments! What's a strumstick and is it homemade too?

  • Thanks! I wrote it the day I got the Strumstick; it took about as long to write as it takes to sing. The instrument is not homemade; you can get one by going to Bob McNally's site. I don't remember the address, but if you google "Strumstick" it will pop right up.

    Cheers, Jongo Jones

  • This is delightful! Loved the percussive chairs, the catchy melody, the vocals. So much fun can be had with friends and musical instruments.

  • Perhaps you can play a blender or a toaster next time :)
