I remember a I landed on a planet with thick atmosphere where everything was a pretty blue color. I explored around and found a chasm with a beautiful river of crystal running all the way up on side of it. I got some pictures, but they kinda suck cuz it was all blurry due to the atmosphere.
What annyoed me enough to stop playing (after the complicated controls, the nauseating graphics and the limited wildlife) was that I realized there are few "maps" of terrain, and I was exploring squares that looked the same but with different colours.
I still played for a week and have a collection of beautiful memories and screenshots from that time!
Really? That sounds better. It's been two years, and even if we don't have news of NoctisV, I feel like trying out Noctis again. What version do you suggest?
By the sounds of it, Noctis IV CE (NICE) is tee way to go. Haven't actually played, still trying to download, but it sounds like it was tailor-made for an aspiring space explorer like me!
As any other game, program, software or device in general, instructions on how to operate it are in the instruction manual, located in your Noctis directory \docs\noctis_iv_manual.html
Don't forget to visit the forums, too, the link is in the description box of this movie, on the upper right of this page.
Umm why not try to read the manual in the docs folder before saying such an stupid question, anyway i think your an beginner so try going into the flight control menu theen at the rightmost button there is this "deploy landing pod" then walk to the screen just right from the G.O.E.S output screen can you see all thoose squares on it? its the sectors of the planet find an interesting sector (i suggest one on the day side) then hit enter (you move the cursor with the arrow keys.
@ReviewMad01 Press 1, choose "Set remote target". Move around to move crosshairs and double right-click to select the star (S00 recommended for beginners). "Start Vimana Flight" to go there.
Once you're at the star, press 8 to "set local target" (Press F2 for a list of the planets and moons in the system, and what types of worlds they are). Double right click on a world you like, and press 8 again to "start fine approach". Once there, press 9 and move to the screen at your right. Use the arrow keys to select exactly where you want to go. For felisian planets (the kinds that have life), press X for a map of the different biomes. Press enter when you have selected your target.

The similar maps you are talking about are the result of a "bug" and were not supposed to be there.
Noctis galsxy is totally procedural generated and I'm afraid that in your early travels you simply encountered the results of this "bug".

I'd suggest everyone to play Noctis IV+, instead.
NICE isn't anymore supported and also starmap updates are available only for the "standard" versions (NoctisIV and NoctisIV+).
