I don't mind her changing words at all- I strum alot of songs that I change the words to all the time and most people dont catch it. I change the parts that I wouldn't have written in-- profanity or lewd phrases, and I think it is still respectful as I thought enough of the song and the artist to perform it but make it my own. just my opinion of course but I've never had anyone say a negative word after a set.

Joan Baez changes the wording in several strophes during the song, for example;(we are very much the same, instead of; we are more or less the same,etc., which I don't appreciate very much. I know it's not big deal, but still..

excuse me for my not perfect english:)I think that Joan Baez (I adore her) didn't mean to 'copy' the song by S&G (I adore'em too). In fact also the music and rhythm are completely different and not just some words. I think that an artist like Joan must give personal feelings to a so famous song. And so I appreciate the changes she make because they make the song 'new' again and full of new and different emotions. By far, this is the most exquisite rendition I have ever heard...

...so much so that I was impelled to create a YouTube account to comment.

As far as I am concerned, Ms Baez's disarming voice and her weeping guitar are the only sounds I hear - everything else comes together beautifully.

She decorates this legendary song with the purity of innocence long lost and lends its verses singular poignancy, her signature perfection.
