This is really great. All the great cover tunes have both respect for the original, but enough of an individual sound to make it your own. You accomplished that for sure. If I had any criticism, I'd want the lyrics a bit more easily understood - I think the lyrics on this song are great. But that's a minor deal. Very impressive, heavy bass groove there - love it.
Excellent arranging..Been jamming along with my acoustic!..
Tonneman...Is it possible you could post me the notes for the main intro section of 'Tour De France' by Kraftwerk & 'Enjoy the silence' by Depeche Mode..
Brilliant! this is what You Tube is about...well done my friend ;-) well crafted version, great video skills too... and i love the way you change the song and make you own... very nice... off to look at your other tracks now :-)
OMG! I love it! I love it! Well worth watching and waiting for 2:42 riff! Love the video too! It's really awesome. I know how much thought has been put into the midi bits and video bits and editing bits. You are way too cool! This should be on a CD or something!
I meant to say I like the video effects you put to your stunning version of the model. I wish to put my stuff on my own channel but I have to get an expert to give me a hand to do this as I'm no good at this stuff as much as I'd like to be. I've seen the fantom 6 & 8. The 8 is a huge beast but the 6 is smaller & I think other than that it's the same. Cheers again from Rich
Hi Mate your versoin of the model is BRILLIANT & that was 1 of the 1st tunes I gaught my self to play on keyboard when 20 years old, 1988. The micro korg is FANTASTIC. I have the micro korg XL, still getting used to it but I making good use of it. Just been recording a track of my own using sampled drums & so on, put my voice through the M XL. The fantoms COOL but cost enough & I thought about having one but I may still go for the Juno G Cheers, keep in touch if you like from Rich
Hey VERY NICELY played to say the least. The model is one of the first tunes I taught my self to play on keyboard in 1988 when I was age 20 when I had a Portasound Yamaha PSS270 home keyboard. I'm moved on since as I sing & play LOADS other stuff, rocord bits of my own stuff. I have Rolan E86, SH201Synth, Yamaha PSR2700 sampler, PSR3000, Michro Korg XL which are all brilliant. I tell you more another time but again, VERY GOOD version of the model. Cheers From Rich
I love this band and the song is sublime. Everyone once in a while you get a band or an artist that really changes things, and this is one of them. BTW If you like this check out my music, it has a similar kind of vibe.
This cover of The Model by Kraftwerk is Uber! I've seen many on the Tube and I have been inspired to make one of my own. Still werking on it. You've been Subbed, Rated, and Favored!
@flyingfisbeefilms Kraftwerk would use sequencers from time to time, though. "The Man-Machine" album took a lot of cues from Giorgio Moroder and features quite a few sequencer lines.
@Tonneman Krafterk used a Synthanorma step sequencer to program sounds. So yes, they used tape . . . but they did not always play live. They used to play live electronic instruments very early in their career, but later bought old analog CV sequencers to control the sounds.
"Kraftwerk were using mulitrack tape so no quantizing involved."
Actually, they used sequencers as well. They owned two Synthanorma 16-step custom-built analogue sequencers built by Matten & Wiechers which they used in the 70s. Of course, those were a lot more limited than what we have today, which may have had a big influence on the sound.
