I really like the fact that you get it! It's paper! It's paper! It's paper! I can't tell you how many times at my job I've told people "it's dirty paper, green in color", and they think I'm joking! Nice to see someone else gets it! Thabks for the vid!
I have to say though... those 20 pound notes are beautiful. LOL
I can just imagine in some future world where the fiat currencies of today have collapsed, the CHING of a silver coin being flipped to a man pulling a cart full of apples through town. Maybe instead of apples, they'll be iPods or other scuffed up old gadgets from a bygone era. Get ready.
Yahoo for Red Kidney Beans, aye? 19p or so in Tesco (mind you,2 years ago they were about 8p).I often eat rice and beans,as the combination of Grains & Pulses is a complete meal in itself.Much of Central Latin America lives on it,on a daily basis.I also keep some dried ones too.A little pricier & shorter life (dried=2 years, can= 3 years) and there is the energy usage issue for boil and simmer before use,to consider. But the pluses are - more healthy, and also far more transportable.
really interesting videos and comments from people too. Looking forward to seeing more.
Soup are a good idea (saw them in your other vid), we make sure we have loads. most, if not all tinned soup is ready to eat cold so you dont need a fire. Soup keeps you fuller for longer. Has a long live. You do have to watch out for salt levels in them.
you probably have them, but I would add a good few heavy duty black bags. washing up liquid. rubber gloves (cheap General Purpose). rechargeable Batteries. pens and papers.
Tesco Value toilet paper? some things are truly worse than death. Spend a bit more, buy in bulk, buy when on offer and you can get a lot better.
I check out Lidl, Aldi, netto and tesco offers all the time. I saw you like PG Tips Pyramid, Netto had 1150 bags for £11.99 a few weeks ago. That about half the price, bag for bag if you bought the 240 bags. £1 stores are cheap and they do good offers, but you really have to watch out for the life on the food.
We try to have a good stock of paracetamol, Ibuprofen ect.. to. I was looking at cough Medicine today and it was good for over two years. Things like that may be a good idea.
It may be so that some foods will go rancid, but it's not as if they will turn to rot immediately. Even after the "expiration date," sealed containers of nuts, etc. will keep, especially if temperature controlled. Anything in less durable packaging is more subject to spoilage, i.e. those biscuits (cookies to us Yanks), as well as to vermin infestation. But a certain percentage of "high risk" stuff isn't bad as long as you keep it rotated and used it up as you replace it. =^[.]^=
True, I keep a small (maybe 3%) of high risk foods myself. I have about 5 peanut butters, a few packets of biscuits etc. I don't hav enuts tho because they are very expensive here and there are cheaper calories for less money.
Oh, nertz! I was wondering what you meant by things being expensive where you were, Nuggets. I didn't even think about the economic situation in Ireland. As things get worse, I think we're all gonna get a taste of what you folks are going through.
Your paper is a whole lot prettier than ours (USA). I like the color and foil on your money paper also.

Nice vid! Very glad to see that silver make an appearance.
Save your receipts. Later on, you can barter them as toilet paper to those who didn't think ahead. =^[.]~=

Even worse than paper is digital money.
Look here's some £20. and here's another £50.
Have £1,000,000 on me :-)

Good selection, you have a few bits that will not store, like biscuits etc, they'll go rancid.
The stuff is so much cheaper there.
I might even come over on the ferry and stock up.
That would be nearly double here (in tescos.)
NuggetsOfTruths 2 years ago
if i vacc pack the biscuits would they last longer ?
it mite be worth a trip over on a cheap ferry
thats why i added the prices so we can compare the price of food :)
RainstormGB 2 years ago
It might give you a bit longer, but anything with oil in it rots. Olive oil, nuts, biscuits and so on.
I don't know why to be honest. I just goes rancid.
I've just been shopping to compare and some stuff was actually less here, but most was between 20% and 500% more....

Each ONE of those sixty pounds used to be worth 12 Troy ounces of silver.
60 x 12 = 720 ounces.
Now that sixty pounds only buys 5-6 ounces of silver.
720 ounces down to 5-6 ounces, that is REAL currency inflation/devaluation.
WE ARE BEING ROBBED.
