  • Great man...his look so determined...

    crazy inspiring man

  • i saw him training in hyde park one day. Ive never run a marathon, done a few halfs but its not just running a marathon, its getting up everyday and doing it, because i ache like hell after every run and the idea of doing it again - aaahhh. Impressive work eddie.

  • So THATS what he was doing in Kenley last year!

    He was in a hurry.

  • i started out not being able to run 200m, now i can do half a marathon. He helped inspire me!

  • seriously impressive eddie well done

  • Edvard . . . as you're just the kinda guy to read this, I'll take the time to write it. That was equal parts inspired and cRaZy, dude!

    Serious props to you Sir!

(Nb, I don't call many people "Sir" out of profound respect!)

Way to show a "mere" mortal can manifest near supernatural achievement, given such determination driven by such a worthy cause. Well done young man :¬]

I'd share a 10k with you any day!!! (ahem, after that, I'll wait for you in the pub mate ;¬] )

  • Ain't that nice he's helping charity whilst a camera follows him around capturing every moment for us to see how great he is.

  • It is beyond belief what Eddie has achieved, just to attempt to walk 1 marathon with little training is a huge achievement but the mental and physical toughness Eddie has shown, well,im speechless and in total awe and will always have total respect for him

  • Wow, you couldn't be more of a prick yourself.

  • Run Eddie......RuuuUUuUuuuuunnnn for charity =D

  • Amazing stuff, Eddie in particular is giving so much, but the John 'O'Groats to Lands end cycle thing is great too.

The best thing though is there are no sports personalities in these things.

  • go eddie i watch you on tv it makes me want to join you.

well done keep it up what a great cause. i want a clipoo!!!!!

  • haha what a legend

  • Thought nothing of you before Eddie and I feel like an ignorant little twat for it, your a great human being and after watching your marathon documentary I can honestly say your an absolute inspiration and one of my heroes, love yi man!

  • Nice comment mate. ;-)

  • i think you are amazing if more had your balls the world would be a better place keep going...

  • Eddie is great, top fella, i enjoyed watching this on BBC3.

  • Can't even begin to imagine the agony ! Go Eddie :) Will be giving all my Sports Relief donations via the Eddie text - s'costing me a fortune so far and i'm ony on episode 2 :D

  • Eddie is the bomb.

  • Astonishing. I never even associated the fella with being,well...fit. I just thought he was a brilliantly original and very funny comedian. And now he's done this RIDICULOUS thing! 30 miles once is lunacy...30 miles a day for weeks and weeks is insane. What ambition! Fantastic stuff.

  • His Sport therapist is my university lecturer

Theres my claim to fame lol

  • Eddie has great legs

he was brave to do the marothon.

  • He IS a beautiful person.

  • "Do you have a Flag?"

    Great work Eddie!

  • Calves of a Rhino! Eddie Izzard is probably the greatest human ever.

  • On pavement and w/ the traffic? Good luck Eddie!

  • maybe run on the grass when possible to avoid foot abuse?

  • I absolutely adore Eddie Izzard. Funny, generous and brave! This is an amazing achievement by anyone's standards. Now I'm off to make a donation.

  • Well done. It's one hell of an effort esp. for someone who doesn't have the physique of a runner.

  • Damn Eddie, your legs are huge!!!! Good job man!

  • That's awesome! I only run when things are chasing me :)

  • I've just donated 31 pounds, $50. Good luck!

  • Fantastic - Good Luck!

    Great legs too! ;-)

  • You are an Inspiration,

You have gone from making me laugh hysterically over your James Bond Sketch a while back to making me want to run to Africa, build a house and make a well then run all the way back!

You are a true saint sir!

  • You're so cute when you're tired.

  • Fair play to you Eddie, watching your video blogs has inspired me to do one of my own. I'm walking 999km round Ireland on 1st October for Focus Ireland and homelessness. I have two pins in my right ankle so i wouldn't be able to run it, lol, but it will still be a huge walk.

But again, fair play to you man, if we all did something for charities these days, we'd all feel better and help so much.

Google "999km walk" to find me

Good luck to yours and my feet! :)

  • Good luck for this!

Anything for a good cause is worth while and its good to see people doing it!

  • Thanks!!! the planning is going well, and im gonna try and organise a concert in ennis too to fundraise for when i arrive there!! :):):)

  • Good luck Eddie, all i can say is WOW. I used to run 25 miles a week when i was 25, and that killed me. I will sponsor you big time, again good luck and keep smiling.

  • a) Eddie will look even hotter in dresses now with such toned up body. :)

    b) This marathon is a great idea! Respect, Eddie! <3

Good luck AND take care! ;)

  • We just seen him in Little Sutton, Ellesmere Port...Go 'ead Eddi!

  • What is up with the "country restrictions" on Part 2? Not fair....the WORLD is backing Eddie on his run - why can't the WORLD see the WHOLE video diary?

  • Comment removed

  • Why can't we see Part 2 outside of the UK? People around the world are donating to this effort and the BBC doesn't want us to see an update because of copyright? Doesn't seem in the spirit...

  • Absolute legend. I don't know how someone so busy managed to get in shape for something so outstanding - I get out of breath running a bath!

  • We should all share this video on our social networks and ask our friends to go to Sport Relief and donate what they can. Let's all get the word out. Eddie is a comedian, not an athlete, so this is quite an outstanding thing to do.. He's already done 10 marathons in 11 days and you can follow him in real time on Twitter.

  • GO EDDIE! As of today he's on Day 10...

Road Warrior..... light foot lad..... Marathon Man! You are amazing.... King of the Road

  • your the one wearing the hat in all? your the only one in all lol

  • Wow, he has certainly gotten in shape for this! Hopefully, I'll be able to see him in Edinburgh.

     Keep running! Good luck!

  • all the best Eddie, hope you make it all the way, i know i could never do that!

    x

  • Izzard will be at home in Scotland coz all the blokes wear skirts up there

  • It could be worse . . . we could all believe in wee green men in UFOs!!! PMSL@U

  • drop the england flag if you come up to scotland, mate

  • He is doing. He's already in Wales and he's been running with a Welsh flag. As he enters a new country he runs with that country's flag.

  • Good. What a guy - some feat if he manages it. (Some feet if he manages it too). Makes Botham look a right woose.

  • Can't wait to see more of these as I was lucky enough to meet him in Bristol on friday. Massive good luck to Eddie as it's an incredible thing he's doing that I'm sure not many other people would want to do!

  • He does this he will be in very good shape at the end of it me thinks

  • If anyone isn't aware, as Eddie mentioned it, his twitter name is simply @eddieizzard.

    Good Luck Eddie!!!!

  • Wow, just full of admiration for that one. Not many people could make that on a daily basis. Amazing.

  • 30 miles per day? I'd be lucky if i could do 1 XD

    Best of luck eddie ^-^

  • You are insane!

    All the best Eddie.

  • I didn't see him but the pictures on Twitter were so near me it was untrue!

  • Nice legs :)

  • I really hope he does this!!! That would be brilliant.

  • Eddie,

Good luck and best wishes. 30 miles per day? That's gutsy. Let us know how we can support you.

    All the best.
