I swear, if i see one more idiot say that eating dolphin is "tradition" and "part of culture" in Japan, I am going to freak out. If you have actually SEEN the movie, you would also see that it is clear it is NOT a part of their culture. That is just a terrible excuse. And They ask plenty of random citizens on the street and none say that eating dolphin is tradition in any way shape or form.

Faroe Islands in Denmark, they r killing loads of Whales and Dolphins as their tradition. We do have same culture of eating marine mammals in European. The porpoise are quite popular food in 15th-18th Century.There r many recipes of porpoise from West Europe.

The point is that Dolphins contain a massive amoutn of mercury, therefor killing Dolphins for food is by all means unnecessary. You argue killing deer, well deer isnt toxic, and we would have massive populations of them, and would eventually have to kill them off. This is a good documentary, you cant deny that this is just pure cruel, especially the last 10 minutes. It doesnt have to focus on other parts of the world, we all know it happens, but this is just a glimpse of the problem...fuck you

I swear, if i see one more idiot say that eating dolphin is "tradition" and "part of culture" in Japan, I am going to freak out. If you have actually SEEN the movie, you would also see that it is clear it is NOT a part of their culture. That is just a terrible excuse. Dolphin meat is EXTREMELY toxic and contains high ppm(parts per million) of mercury. And They ask plenty of random citizens on the street and none say that eating dolphin is tradition in any way shape or form.

the cove tells a story that people need to know about but this film is too hollywood and some people will see it just for the shoking pictures and not for the real message that is caries, as for all the "save COWS" each country has its traditions, only cows are bread for their meat, dolphines are fished and cruelly slaughtered, the same thing goes for eating dogs in coea, its ok for them to eat them as long as they dont make them suffer, we must respect the animals we eat and preserve them

Japan has a highly rich culture and values that are well known, but certain behaviours should not be accepted. The thing is that the canadian sea hunting is not accepted as well, and seal meat is not full of mercury and other contaminants that can severely hurt people! Also, seals in Canada are not under the IUCN categories of threatened or endangered...

@TAC412 The seals are being killed on the canadian coast and there are many countries hunting and killing these poor baby seals there. What is wrong is the Canadian Gov not putting a stop to it, the population of harp seals are declining significantly and it has affected the cod pop as well.
