"550 pound test" means it breaks at around 550 lbs of force on it, so a safe working load is more like 137 pounds...going by just dividing by four. This is why climbing rope has a breaking strength of thousands of pounds--to account for any additional force from something like falling and suddenly stopping. That said, paracord is adequate for most things, like making indestructible lanyards. =)
To Bad there illegal to carry in CA......yet I can and do carry my 12" knife with me on my waist all the time and its perfectly legal. Apparently the state of California would rather have you stab someone then beat them so you can get away from an attacker.....so remember kids. California wants you to kill people in self defense.....stupid laws I swear.
@TheStarCrash Actually, a lot of language experts believe that around the time of Shakespeare, the accent and pronouncement of English in England was very close to that of people in Eastern Kentucky in the United States.
Also, I live in America, and I'll say baton however I want to. If you want to pronounce it differently, then that's up to you.
Hmmm, why don't you get your country to force us to change the way we talk? oh thats right, England tried that before and got their asses handed to them. Sorry mate, maybe next time.
thanks for the vid but i suggest that instead of wrapping the lanyard around your rist... use the thumb and wrap technique. loop the lanyard round your thumb pull the baton round the back your hand and up into your grip that way you cant be dragged around by the baton!
@kys890123 lol. Bit of a late response. Um, I have been in fights in the past. Not frequently, and not life or death confrontations, but definitely a few fist fights here and there.
Did you modify the scout motto from "Be prepared" to "Be overprepared"? Don't get me wrong, you are very prepared, and if I was ever in an emergency and you were there, I would go to you first. :P

Is that a ASP or other brand?
JoeDurobot 1 year ago
@JoeDurobot No, it's not an ASP. I don't know the brand off the top of my head, but it's just a random off-brand.

@CoDWikiTMOI well, I suppose I just figure since everyone around me is so unprepared, I should be prepared for a few of them as well.
