Had a look at your 'youtube' site. Why no videos of you doing karate? Maybe because you dont? Any of the kids in this clip would show you up never mind the adults. Instead of being a 'keyboard warrior', put on a karate suit and come to my dojo. You will be most welcome! Let you see what my black belts are like.
Hi Christian and thank you for your comment. Yes, some are leaning forwards but isn't this the idea of training? To improve our short-comings? Could this be why we brought Kawasaki Sensei to Scotland in the first place? Also, many of the students in this clip have been to Japan and trained in Yahara Sensei's dojo on a number of occasions. They have also competed in Japan. However, I'll be delighted for you to leave a link to your site so that we could all see how you perform your kihon!
Man, western blackbelts really have generally poor kihon. After all those years of training they still lean forward with their oi-zuki? And their body is not in shomen after delivery? They should all try to take extended training trip to japan
christianbrecht, not all of these guys are leaning forward, or being too stiff. I see some real good Oi-Zuki's here. In every Dojo you inevitably have individual practicioners who perform better than average, and some less skillfull. This Dojo looks pretty serious and respectable to me.
i loved it, was a great experience meeting a japanese instructor. i now see that the higher grades got things a lil harder than us though from these vids lol
And you are.............. who???
