pink fucking floyd. Floydism Excellence, Right Here. Everywhere, Always. Pink Is me and pink is you. If your not listening to pink floyd what the fuck else would you do?..
@faltrax Sorry matey, can't do that. Who IS the other one? Never heard of him. Can't vote against someone I've never heard of. Pink Floyd don't NEED anyone's vote, so I won't vote for them either :)
I discovered the REAL Pink Floyd in 1987, "Meddle" was an import CD to the states, and I bought it! Not long after I saw this video rented from a local shop.
When you're sixteeen and hear idiot Floyd fans who think "The Wall" is best album ever, you want to choke them. I didn't even try.
Bonus for headphones: The lyrics have Gilmour in the left ear and Wright in the right. It's awesome to be able to listen to their voices individually and in harmony.
I think Floyd were the pinnacle of that golden age from 1967 to 1980, when bands were bands, and music came on vinyl records, mostly albums. There was something truly magic about that 13 years, and post 1980 has been all downhill.
i love this whole song, especially the funky part and spacey solo, but the breakdown after the solo is probably my favorite. i love that organ in the background and the guitar work.
I'm 21 and been listening to the floyd for the past 4 or so years. when people say nothing compares, their absolutely right. They made art that was comprehensible to ones ears, but in a way that makes one think. They were truly a brilliant band.
I dont envy a lot of other generations of humans, but anyone who got to experience Pink Floyd, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin etc. live really don't know how great they had it...
We -do- know how great we had it. I'm not saying that to be smug, though. I mostly feel sorry for younger generations, who grew up during the era of banality and mediocrity that was ushered in by MTV and which ultimately evolved into corporate rock.
I know that there are a lot of very talented young musicians out there. But what saddens me the most is knowing that almost none of them will ever get a break from the corporate music industry. Hence they will never be heard. :(
@ privatespearz im only 23 and this is THE BEST group of musicians to ever be assembled. their music is beyond amazing, i cant imagine my life without them. you dont see writing this good anywhere. my only regret is im so young i didnt see them live. all their albums are amazing. you will enjoy each one i promise
Best sounds that were ever produced. Echoes is easily the best Floyd song for me. If God was to come down from heaven to listen to good music ,then this would be the first song.
I think it was the summer of my seventeenth year when this filled the cabin of my topless ride along with the sweet smell of possibility. Sheeet. I owe Floyd for a lifetime of ageless etherial tunes.
there are some things that can be seen, some that can be heared, some that can be feeled straight by our soul. Some of the above can open ports to the human brain, and his consiousness raises high. This is Pink Floyd.
A magnificent piece of music, unfortunately my vinyl version got scrached as I used to lend it to one of my classmates and he used to shag his girlfriend to it.
@conor4008 the amount of good music this band put out is truly incredible, right up there with all the other legends of rock - beatles, led zeppelin, etc.
I'm 33, soon to be 34 years old. I have never listened to Pink Floyd before, but I heard this record a few days ago. I am buying all of their albums after I finish writing this comment. I don't know where to begin describing this song..... awesome? (..in the original sense of the word, not the contemporary slang). Amazing at least.

@low72 Hahaha! :) No, would you believe me if I tell you that I've never heard songs of that boy? But I know, that this name is like a synonym of... oh you know :) But you're right - this joke is too old.
i was quite disappointed with the director's cut of 'live at pompeii', because i got computer-made images of space and planets being projected over the floyd's orgasmic performance! damn, i want to see the guys, not the planets!

Adolecence, loneliness, pink floyd early experience and went together for me. Many memories¡¡¡ now that the time step is always to lisent to, i go back...
the real thing about the music now is that now they are under control of everything, youll sell your ass, in pink floyd first albums sure they where like one grain of evil unlike the big ugly dirty monster its now; its for sure that the band was more in control of the music, unleashing all their talent
LOL 4:38 looks like richard actually doesnt get sung lullabies or someone to close his eye. im sorry i just had to point that out. RIP Richard. greatest song over
The most creative group of musicians ever to assemble in space & time! They never did drugs either. I know everyone assumes so but no they did not. Cant say the same of their audience though~I agree with the comment that the kids now can't appreciate their intensity. Probably is due to ADD or else NUMBNESS from listening to the crap that passes for music today!
CRAZY!

Cloudless everyday you fall upon my waking eyes,
Inciting and inviting me to rise.
And through the window in the wall
Come streaming in on sunlight wings
A million bright ambassadors of morning.
And no one sings me lullabies
And no one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky.
... Amazing lyrics along with an amazing composition. Pink Floyd are not songwriters, they are composers

the real thing about the music now is that now they are under control of everything, youll sell your ass, in pink floyd first albums sure they where like one grain of evil unlike the big ugly dirty monster its now; its for sure that the band was more in control of the music, unleashing all their talent
