  • If price was not an issue, I'll take the lfa over the gtr.

  • I want this video on my CF360 unit.

  • Japanese cars.. bitches!!

  • This is a very "chubby" video. =p

  • At the begining of video over, says Bu rai da-, Braider. a bad custom of asians to put the name of the machine to the machine.

  • Really this is an antique technology.

  • It seems a pussy.

  • how did i get here?

  • AH ITS VENOM!!

  • this should be in HQ.

    other wise not worth watching

  • Strand Breaks! Employee- I hate my life!

  • @circusboy:

    your YouTube ID suits you.

    Not impressed?

I wonder what you drive lol

  • it's a rope weaving machine there are thousands upon thousands , this does not legitmitize the obscene cost of burnt cotton & some resin. we should be bringing to cost of these materials down to earth so everybody can use them , then we can skip to the next big thing. we need the future now not later. I'm not impressed.

  • this is so beautiful...

  • so hot.

  • so, who has the other Weaving machine? Bill Gates?

  • @kalargyi

BMC in Switzerland who developed the machine, for carbon bicycle frame tubing

  • To all the questions as to whether this was pre or post-preg the answer is that the carbon fibers are impregnated with resin AFTER the weave process (which technically makes this wet CFRP). I was originally wrong and many of you were right about this. About 8 months after uploading this video, Lexus posted a mini infomercial better explaining the loom and the process. (The video is much higher quality too). It's called "Lexus: The Hard Way - Carbon Loom".

  • Alien technology.

  • Is this machine the reason why the lexux LFA is so expensive? Does it cost that much to make the special carbon fiber for the LFA? If not, what it is it then?

  • That is the coolest fucking thing I have ever seen in my life.

  • It might be tow-preg, or thermoplastic tows. It's impossible to know unless you can ask the people making it. "Wetting" out the tows can not be done on a braider, only a filament winder.

  • @thegentlemanwarrior yes, really looks like dry carbon rovings. i think you were wrong although the idea is good and not too new.

  • @thegentlemanwarrior I´ve been working with two machines in middle europe but we always had to imrepgnate the rovings AFTER braiding. So i doubt if they can really weave the pre-impregnated carbon. there should be some resin bath between the spool and the braiding ring. very difficult to make real.

  • Are they impregnated before weaving? i don´t think so. But pls tell me if you know

  • Well:

GTR: Near perfect 50/50 F/R balance... Better Handling

LFA: 48/52... They'll try to tell you it's better

    GTR: Awd... Better Handling

    LFA: Rwd

    GTR: 480HP

LFA: 552HP... ok the LFA wins one

GTR: $84,060... arguably the fastest car (track) for your money in the world

    LFA: $375,000... GTR+$291,000 in mods = unbeatable

Not trying to be an ass but I really dont think it will come near the GTR on a track. There is the street race/drag race side that LFA could win but maybe not since it's not AWD.

  • @JordanMalone it's actually better to have a slight rear bias when it comes to weight distribution, and quite an achievement in a front-engined car. an achievement it shares with Ferrari's 599 GTB

  • @veyronman so why is it that this car which sits higher, weighs more, and is under powered... yet you need at least half a million dollars to compete with it on the track? which the LFA is left out of that category (wet track or not). It's all what (or which online/TV source) we choose to believe since nobody skimming the youtube comments has either one of these car... far less BOTH. I respect all opinions... but claiming it's better isn't going to change mine.

  • @JordanMalone not really that relevant dude, the GTR looks like a bag of dicks compared to the LFA, and sounds shit in comparison too. If given either car for free, I'd take the LFA any day... and I'm a Nissan enthusiast.

  • @unharmonix so i'll grab copy of the Mona Lisa and attach a great sounding pair of speakers to it. It's totally relevant since my comment isn't on the street appeal of the car, rather the track credibility of both cars. I'll admit the LFA is a SWEET lookin machine in and out. And thats prob 100 times more relevant when purchasing a street legal super car, but that wont stop a 'bag of dicks' from 'smoking' it on the track. Just sayin

  • No offence but too bad it's still gonna get smoked by a stock GTR... That's less than 1/3 the price! But on the subject of the machine... Where can i pick one of these up? lol

  • @JordanMalone "smoked by stock GTR..."? do you mind to colaborate your statement? like in what category a stock GTR can "smoke" LFA?

  • In all fairness this car is just pure class.
