  • I dont know what you filmed this with but im guessing a piece of cheese?

  • i did this and i think a snake got the rabbit :/

  • Where did u get ur snare wire?

  • @RCoutdoors49

guitar strings work awesome, or just any plain old wire from the hardware store.

  • so...how it works is that the rabbit walks and doesnt see it and only its head goes in the hole and gets hanged? dont know how it works

  • i do this with my dad here in wisconsin and we go in early in the morning and set the snares on the rabbit trails and then we kick brushpiles with our bows in hand if one doesnt go down the trails and get snared we shoot it and if they are still alive in our snares we just club them over the head

  • nice audio

  • dude tht is so awesome i wanna try it so ill have some meat to toss in the freezer

  • snaring is illegal in most places and should only be used in survival situations and mickey the rabbits died because the wire tightens and chokes them

  • @whitecedr It's legal in most places actually with permission from the landowner .. Also if you have to leave your phone number and adress incase a dog gets caught in the snare as you can be prosecuted for this ;/

  • so how did the rabbits die (im refering to the ones in the video)

  • put your fingers ur the rib cage and feel for the heart. pull to detach the heart. painless i tells ya

  • @Airgunhunter2010 no im not kidding it ruins the video! this is survival not about music

  • drop the shitty music

  • @lKingCobra Are you kidding? AC/DC rule!

  • Why do the rabbits go through the loop anyways? what is it made of and how does it work? like a noose? Do you have a vid or link on how to make the wire part of the snare?

  • @310shadow310 Well, pretty much its easy how it works, the by setting the trap in a frequented rabbit trail, they simply walk by it and their heads go in first and as the rabbit walks, the loop tightens on its neck those catching it. Mostly they end up suffocating due to the rabbits persistence of wanting to pull free...

  • i never catch im only 12 years old but love to hunt i have 2 air rifles a 177 and a 22 but when i dont have a parent with me i obviously shouldnt take my gun and so then go and snare but never seem to catch do you know what im dong wrong ???

  • we use same methods in uk, snares arnt a bad way to kill them, prob the easyest, great videos

  • I made a snare with steel & on the next day I saw my snare broken & there was foot steps from a wild hare so if you tie your rope or string with the snare to a softer branch it is harder for a rabbit or hare to get away ! trust me it works :)

  • i have to check mine just about ever 2 hour even at night cuz they get in it and fast there so many

  • snARing is just as bad as hanging them

  • what gal of wire do you use?

  • only 2? sadface.

  • Nice job with the snares. Do you think that 28 gauge steel wire would work. All the videos ive seen it seems like people use the thicker stuff.

  • wat state u liv n

  • how long did it take you to catch the rabbits

  • The thing is that with that all rabbit snare videos no even one single video shows a rabbit caught in it... I really think its all fake...

  • i snare rabbit but one day i got a fox in my snare

  • what should i do if say, i check it and theres a badger stuck in the snare and still alive? i dont really want to release if because they have VERY nasty bites and also i do not own any airgun or firearm

  • @cianw10 make a spear out of a large stick and jab it behind it's front legs

  • Great video :) Looks pretty darn effective. Gonna have to try it out. Have you ever had any trouble with domestic cats?

  • when the rabbit is still alive in your snare what is the most painless way to kill it? because i dont wanna cause them pain

  • @simengrs I usually carry with me a pellet gun...for the last several seasons, all were dead upon my arrival.

  • @northernpike56 id recommned the technique in this video

    v=8iYYfFBk5J4&feature=related

  • @northernpike56 you can also use a strick to hit the neck or head which kills them instintly.

  • @simengrs i usually pick up a big log or something of the sort and give it one or two blows to the head, .1 of a second of pain if even that

  • @simengrs grab kis legs and with theother hand his head

    pull his head up

and feet down and then twist neck up, hes dead

  • @simengrs A sharp knife in through the back of its neck into the brain is completely painless.

  • @simengrs i usualy snap its neck or slit the throat

  • @simengrs step on the rabbit and pull the snare as hard as you can for about ten-15 seconds to completely cut off blood flow to their head.....its easy cuz the rabbits will be very close to going unconcious...sounds pretty sick but its a lot better than twisting its head around or snapping its neck which takes lots of practice before you can kill them instantly.......if you have a .22 or .17 shoot em in the head

  • @simengrs i usually take a stick and pop them right behind the head and they die right as soon as you hit them.

to know if you hit him right he should bleed out his ears!

  • @simengrs punch it

  • @simengrs hi , this most painless is shooting with 22 rifle in the head or breaking the neck with ur bare hand ..... if u not faint of hearth!

  • @simengrs hi , this most painless is shooting with 22 rifle in the head or breaking the neck with ur bare hand ..... if u not faint of hearth!

  • @simengrs ring its neck like a rag kills is painlessly

  • @simengrs grab it by its head and shake it as hard as you can

  • @simengrs Rather than a pellet gun if you grab the back legs and bend the body back and yank on the neck it will break it and humanley kill it .. Or you can karate chop it to the back of the kneck which does the same job :/ haha !

  • @simengrs place the knife gently to there neck then push is in hard and pull out and try to get there nerve system so they dont feel anything :)

  • Comment removed

  • @simengrs if you have a pocket knife take the tip of the blade and place it just between were the skull attaches to the spine and push down as hard as you can this severes the spine from the skull and is nearely painless

  • What size do you set the noose of the snares to?

  • @miguest66 refer to my " Making a Rabbit snare " video...

  • @educateyourselfpleas

I believe you to be a disguise.

Don't believe you are who you say you are.

  • wow! your a very skilled outdoorsman!

  • i live in a good neighborhood, but we got tons of rabbits allaround. is it legal to trap them or not? i would eat them. because theres this one that's huge.

  • Im confused how this closes on them. Do you have a video of making the actual snaring part?

  • Hello!

I had some questions regarding this vid. 1. Do you check the traps once or twice a day and 2. whats the best time(s) to check and set traps? (I was watched the other vid on setting them, but I needed clarification).

Thanks for posting this, It will help me out a lot learning all the stuff my family didn't teach me because I was a girl. :P

  • @Juiroame I check them once daily usually mid morning...In mild climate or warm days might want to check twice a day, in sub zero should be ok to check them every other day but you run a higher risk of scavengers...

  • @northernpike56 does the snare usually get them around the neck ? or have to caught them by the legs before?

  • @Juiroame snarring is a lot more effective in winter especially where there is lots of snow.....here in northern ontario we have about 4-5 feet in the bush so all of the rabbits use the same handful of trails....set in the morning(so your scent can disapear before night when the rabbits are active) after 1-2 consecutive nights of no snow that follow a day/night of a few inches of snow(so they have a night or two to run around and leave behind tracks of their travel trails)...let sit overnight

  • @Juiroame Your comment (questions) made me smile. My older brother snared rabbits when I was a kid, but of course, us girls didn't get to. This will be my first year of snaring - very thankful for Youtube and people like this that share their knowledge.

  • How many snares did you have this day? How many did you catch? It looks like the bottom of the snare is 2" off the ground. Is that right?

  • What for you kill so many?!

  • im happy that someone else has taken the time to combine my 2 favourite things, hunting and acdc!

  • one day i'll take a Ka-bar, a backpack and good clothes and go out in the woods and live like this, probably in 2012 ;) when 3rd WW breaks out. hope squirrels and rabbits are around by then haha nice vid, did they taste good?

  • i like this song well the begining

  • at 1:14 did that rabbit get partially eaten or it looks like something happened to it? pm me or reply

  • @SLOBS65 yes, it was scavenged by another animal, refer to my "field dressing a rabbit" video to get a better look at it.

  • i dont understand what stops the rabbits from just going thru the loop in the snare? there is no spring tension in this snare to pull the loop closed???

  • So.. why do these work? Why do the rabbits get stuck?

Your snares look just like other explanations I've seen plenty other places.

Is it because when the rabbit pulls the loop closed, it puts a kink in the wire at the loop that keeps it from opening back up?

It's not worth the effort to spring load these?

  • if you have a means of killing the rabbits could you make the snare from string to avoid a slow death?

  • fair play tya yu had more luck than me. im just starting snaring tbh and iv had no luck. im pretty sure my snares are good used the same design as you, with the wire nad string, and had no luck. iv literally set the snares in the entrance t fresh rabbit holes ( we see the turned sand ) in a place we know there is rabbits. is it possible the wire im using is too heavy? or that they can see trhe snares?? advice appreciated!!

  • there are some cats in my area, could it be possible that i snare them accidentally?

  • @rutgerm1993 Yes, NEVER snare rabbits near residential areas !

  • @northernpike56 snare just the same, cats deserve to die.

  • @bmxmalta So do a lot of people

  • @omnibus3010 yea. i agree. why? im on ur list?

  • @bmxmalta LOL....Just saying, the human animal is no more fit to live than anything else........

  • If the rabbits still alive (chances of that?) whats the most merciful way of killing it?

  • @ditzyblonde007 breakin the neck ...why?

  • @ditzyblonde007 Hit it, very hard, in the back of the neck or head with a thick stick. It seems rather crude, but believe me, it's instant if you hit them hard enough.

  • @MacCairnie why not just split its spine with a knife instant death

  • Nice vid but I prefer trapping with a cage kind of set up. This is because you can put water in it so if you don't want to kill and eat it, you can simply relocate it or set it back where you trapped it.

  • It just seems to a novice(that being me) that the snare is to wide. do they get their feet and head caught some times?

  • Nice ! Thanks for sharing

  • hey northernpike, ive trapped rabbits since i was a young boy but now thats been banned in australia and i was thinking of snairing instead, just wondering how the snairs work. e.g. does it hit the rabbits feet and tighten???

    thanks

  • looks like cann's hill. grove road?

  • @scottmitchell12345...nope, I'm about 7 km from there.

  • i like your choice of music!

  • Wow...I love how inbreed swine can try to make some sort of art form out of torturing small animals...Future serial killer...Sick fuck...Someone should put a snare outside your house you waste of fucking flesh.

  • @jasonseafishseesfish

    You a vegetarian?

  • @jasonseafishseesfish Dude, chill the fuck out.. When it all boils down what matters the most? You fucking eating oak leaves becuase you took your time in life harassing people or sombody learning to use a snare to catch a nice fucking meal? Get over it dude, when the world goes to shit you fuckin vegans can eat all the fucking leaves you want I'm sure it won't be long before you are sittin next to everybody else around the camp fire enjoying some nice deer or boar freshly killed.

  • i prefer snare traps which lift them of the ground, less suffering. but harder to make, in a serious survival situation i will probably use this one as well, but he can start chewing the cord, when he is lift off on a tree he wont be able to.

  • do u ever cach any alive and what state do u live in if u do cach any alive i was wondering if u can sell me any for about 5 to6 $ a rabbit i live in ny state

  • thats a big one ;)

  • Hahaha ACCADACCA...should be playing Highway to Hell...

  • Good Job man you really know how to find the trail tapers how long you been snaring?

For wilderness survival, is this a hobby, or just for the meat??

    You are the Fudd!

  • Thx...I've been at it (on and off) since I was about 7.

    Both :-)

  • how quick do they die when they get stuck? is it pretty quiick or a slow death i usually set deadfalls but i want to try this

  • they always die withen 2 days if the snare doesnt kill them by breaking a bone or something they die of thirst/hunger

  • Thanks for sharing the video, but dude, with that music it makes it a little hard to watch (unless turning off the music).

  • was this filmed on a phone?...

  • please give a recipe man i would love that

  • how does this work? is it kinda like a slipknot thing where when they go through it gets their neck and it keeps tightening as they struggle?

    please explain lol

  • Yeah, that's exactly how it works. They go through the snare and at one point it gets stuck, and they instinctively struggle to get out of it, which only really makes it tighter, and they die.

  • what thickness of wire should i be using and where can i buy it from?

  • man that last rabbit was massive

  • Man! No Ted Nugent music? WTF? lmao just kidding. Hey, let's see the rabbits in the frying pan man! Have fun!

  • hey guys do you think a 20 pound compbow would kill a rabbit?

  • Yes. Easy, but have sharp tips

  • yes

  • @stoli756 i hope so

  • 2 things yes with sharp tips 2 u have to be a good shot lol

p.s i acidently put a thumbs down i ment thumbs up

  • hey do you guys think a 20 pound compound bow would kill a rabbit?

  • i think i am going to try this... i killed three the other day with my bow... from 20 yards and farther!!!

  • Had a snare set out yesterday, unfortunately my dogs checked it before I did. Nice video!

  • lmao

  • nice vid im definatley trying it out when im not just hunting them with a compound bow

  • man o set up a bird trap and snare in my bak yard an i kill 3 robeins 5 crows and 2 blue birds

  • rabbits breed like crazy. there is no such thing as just one rabbitt. besides if the rabbitts all dissappear start killing the foxes.

  • Is this legle in england?

  • I was inspired by this vid. have done it for 4 months now and have snared 17 rabbits. i think ts an okay ammount.

  • ohhh...so tempting to try it out

  • excellent vid a few rabbits there for the pot ime out tonight shooting i could eat a rabbit stew now lol

  • u have all the fun :(

  • A friend of my went camping with his dogs and made a rabbit snare and one of his dogs was missing from camp site. Guess what happened... the dog got caught on the snare. It died after he found it.

  • i try not to think very much one topics such as these, but consider we are just doing our part as any other animal, kill, eat, sleep, fuck and survive and hope we arent on the bottom of the food chain, like the coyote, just be adaptable for changes to come

  • @8137272424 coyotes are nasty little fucks for being able to adapt to easly, they are all over the place in my city lol

  • LOL... "the red wolves and the Eastern mountain Lion". What a completely shit argument.

If I put you in a cage with 10 wolves or lions, I think then youd appreciate the difference between that and being stuck in a cage with 10 fluffy bunnies.

Unlike wolves and lions, you find rabbits in every corner of the world. Ergo, the expression, "breeding like rabbits".

    Get real Duncan, you twat!!!

  • Mike, I'm pretty sure each animal has it's part too take from te food chain. By humans killing and eating almost every animal that lives, is altering the food chain, leaving not so much animals left for another to eat.

Say, we have 100 foxes and 200 rabbits in a large block of land, and humans come in and kill all of the rabbits. What would the foxes have to eat...? Grass maybe..?

  • the weaker foxes would die out, and the stronger ones would move on and survive, this would make the population even stronger in the future

  • No, you wouldn't.

Number one, you don't set in places were people's pets can get. Number two, if people's pets are wandering around where they shouldn't be, it's the pet owner's fault. Number three, you weren't trying to catch people's pets on purpose. It's legal in loads of places.

  • Dude what matiral do you use to make the snare? and where could i get it?

Thums up if this question is helpfull

    bye!

  • 20 gauge stainless steel wire, I got the snare wire from "Canadian Tire" most hardware stores carry it...

  • i dont understand how the rabbit will get cought in it i mean cant it just jump right through it?

  • Not if you make it small enough. Head gets through, shoulders/paws don't.

  • ahah thanks

  • have you ever hunted rabbits with beagles???

  • Yup, it's a blast with beagles :-)

  • yea thts how we hunt them...i have 3 beagles that sre pretty good....my male actually caught one on sunday

  • what does rabbit taste like...

i really want to try it because i like to eat deer.

  • It has a unique taste, all I can say is try it you'll probably like it :-)

  • How do you know where to set the snares rabbits roam all over the woods a front lawns, how do you know what is a rabbit trail do they use the same areas daily, or is it just guess work & a bit of luck too.

  • Hey MyREDTAIL, generally if you know rabbits are present in an area their trails are pretty obvious...

  • look for droping rabbits seem to go same way thinking its the safest touch see how fresh they are then set teh wire thinking witch way could come

  • thats only if your dumb enough to set these in suberbs but if you do this in the country and that happens its the owners fault for letting their animals roam

  • AC/DC!!!!

  • hey thanks for the message back that means i am doing it right

  • yeh its right outside a nesting area will that work or no

  • i dont have a rabbit trail what do i do? do i use bait r wat?

  • hmmm u could try hanging a carrot on both sides of trap so as rabbit attempts to stick head through it gets caught

  • hey nice vid but i have some questions the area i am snaring is in tall grass and i am seeing a lot of rabbit trails do you think i should do anything diffrent?

  • Just be sure you have a sturdy anchorage point to tie to, which you may have to bring to the grassy area that the trails are in, maybe a wooden stake or metal rod or something...

  • its not illegal they die instantly trust me my dog chased one into one of my snares and as soon as it went in the snare it dies

  • Your an idiot its not illegal

  • ZIP TIES work like a charm.

  • zip ties dont even work why lie ?

You obvz dont know shit about snaring.. cus trust me ucking zip ties dont do shit

  • Ummm, Yea they fuckin do, DUMBASS! In fact Ill prove it to you... Get a large thick zip tie,,, Put it over your bulbus head and pull it tight around your fuckin' neck... Then you tell me if it works!!:)

Yea, Im not going to argue. You're a fuckin idiot.

  • i thot u had to use stopper things so it wouldnt kill everything

  • how dose the snare kill them

  • chokes them

  • ok now i see thanks

  • they pull and it tightens around there neck and they choke

  • Nice music man! AC DC rocks!

  • hell yeah do they!

  • sweet snares!!!! did you get the whole peter rabbit family?

  • keep it up trapper! good vid.

  • good video

    tomo

  • can the cops get you for doing this like in ur backyard?

  • no...

  • it kinda depends on a few things. if you live on a lot uh land, you can shoot N' trap to your hearts content. if your like me, living in a small town (or what wProxy-Connection: keep-alive

Cache-Control: max-age=0 once a small town)then you can do it year round in your back yard and if someone asks questions, I just say their eatin my dog food and chewin up the garden somethin awful!

  • nope

  • i did this i used 20 and 15. 15 gauge doesnt work as well due to the fact that it bends back to it circle form too easily. the whole trick behind this is that the wire will bend into a valley shape and not let loop get bigger again. 20 gauge doesn't bent as easy so it works a whole lot better.

  • 20's way to thick for me

  • what kind of snare can I use to catch rednecks?
