  • this is fucking epic

  • Question: If you pre-order it for 20 Euro (30$) do you get the full version of the game later too without having to pay or not?

  • @Falonefal of course, thats what preording means

  • @DaFleegsta Well not always, I preorder my Diablo III at the game shop here, I have to pay 5 euro's, when the game comes out, I still have to pay 55 euro's more, the pre-ordering ensures I WILL get my copy when it comes out, but I guess with getting an electronic copy it would be a full preorder.

  • 0:29 OWNED

  • in this video... i added "how to throw knives...LIKE A BOSS!!!!"

  • The amount of people who don't know what alpha means is too damn high!

  • 1:22 "What the fu- HURK"

  • totally buying this game just cause of the amazing combat system

  • amazinggg !

  • Do a demo, i'm 14 and my parents dont trust the internet is safe :(

  • @Krisper26 ofcourse the internet is not safe, but its just like cars: you shouldnt drive off a cliff.

  • @Krisper26 Are your parents 80 years old?

  • At some point, could you try to make the sound in the slow-motion sound a bit... nicer? It's kinda cheezy-sounding so it might help if you added contextual EQ settings/fitlers for that. It's indistinguishable from the Lugaru audio, and loud blunt collisions are a bit grating.

  • Nice unknown aspects...

  • Definite torrent =p

  • THIS! will be the most epic game ever made

  • ahaha so awesome ragdolls look great when they get hit

  • Looks very interesting, but $30 for a indie title still in development is too much, considering the multitude of options these days. There are games coming out of our ears.

  • @slipcurve I don't know. The scope of this game in its finished form might be pretty grand compared to most indie games. I'm OK with paying 30 bucks for that. Hell, I paid 50buckaroos for SWTOR around christmas because I ran out of good games... That was not money well spent.. I agree, though, compared to other Indie games, 30 is up there. I'll pay it, though, cause the combat looks like a crapload of fun.

  • @ronnysoeberg

Well that's your decision and you are free to make it, but the price is definitely too high for what you get. I'd say it's a mistake and a 10$ price tag would ultimately get them more money, fame and customers. That's coming from a guy that loves games and has a job (steady income).

Your speculations as to it final quality seem to me unjustified. Many indie games these days have very high quality and go for a fraction of the price.

Who knows if that's ever finished

  • @slipcurve Pretty sure you're right that they'd get more money if they went for a 10-15$ pricetag. If they were on steam that is. Games marketed the way this game does tend to be very niche, and end up selling about the same number of copies regardless. I see this more like Achtung Panzer, even though this is a completely different game, it's kind of catered to a similar niche of weirdos. If they end up getting published on steam, though, they would be fools not to set it at 10-20.1/2

  • @ronnysoeberg 2" It really all depends on the scope of the game in the end. If this ends up being a content heavy game and not as sandboxy as the impression people get right bow, the 30 bucks is ok, cause it would be at the tier of indie space sims and stuff like that, and they are about 20-30ish. Time will tell, I suppose.

  • @ronnysoeberg

You have a point. They probably have high server costs.

  • @slipcurve Wasn't thinking about the server cost, more along the lines of hey, we're not going to sell 1 million copies if we're not on steam. Indie games on steam are cheap for the same reason games on iPhone are cheap. You get an unbelievable amount of press. Most people have heard about Terraria, not that many have heard of Darkwind: War on Wheels, for example. People are spoiled by steam indies and iPhone games at this point. Just look at the iphone app store."3 bucks?? NO THANKS"

  • @ronnysoeberg Stats prove if you sell it cheaper and it gets a ton more views, you make more money. How do you think Linux is successful? Why do you think free MMOs are a thing?

  • @Big5000K Yeah, linux is really successful. What's it got now, 1.3% market share due to cheapskates, hackers and servers? Apple has a larger share, and their computers are arguably the most expensive ones you can buy. And mmo's are the most expensive games on the market. Even the f2p games end up costing more than an overpriced release day blizzard/CoD game. You may have argued against yourself.

  • @ronnysoeberg

    1. Linux has made in the range of three billion dollars.

    2. Look at World of Warcraft, LOTOR online or D&D online, each gives a 'play until level 20' deal or similar and their profits have skyrocketed.

  • @APinkPanzer I have played all those games, DDO or D&D Online I've played quite a bit, and the servers were somewhat empty last time I played. That was about 2 months after it went F2P. LOTRO has been empty for ages. At least the level 1-30 areas are basically solo gameplay. Haven't ever gotten past that because soloing 30 levels .. You're basically bored to death by then. But yeah, they do make money, but those games were OLD when they hit F2P status.

  • @APinkPanzer Also, linux is the only free OS out there, and still they have about a 1% market share. Windows is overpriced as fuck, and they have somewhere around 90%, OSX is at about 7ish%. Linux, being free, makes.. what... A millionth of both the two other OS'es? And WoW, arguably the most expensive MMO of them all makes more money than all other mmo's combined...

  • 0:14 I like the way this rabbit's head sinks into his body with that explosive sound on it, heheh

  • a bit cheaper would be nice

  • @Razorowl atleast durring the beta. Like. "BUY NOW WHILE ITS 50% OFF!" :P

  • @Razorowl tbh, its a good price. and you pre-order it? the alpha is just a bonus for pre-ordering ;)?

  • @Razorowl its only 1/3 of the price of published games

  • @clockwise3559 I feel sorry for you if you are paying $90 for games o_o

It is about half the price of a normal game though, but it is only in the alpha stages. I can understand peoples hesitation to spend half the cost of a game on a game that is less than half done, especially when they can't know what the final product will end up being (for sure). Personally I pre ordered cause this combat and parkour seems like a great combination however I still do think they should lower the price.

  • @DSBrekus $90 Australian mate, and TL;DR

  • @Razorowl A bit cheaper wouldn't be worth their effort. This game is more polished and fun than some corporate games I could name.

  • @Razorowl The pre-order is supposed to be a way to support further development of the game

  • @Razorowl I agree, it's a bit much atm

  • @Razorowl Thing is, if they were to decrese the price their profits would not drop. I know loads of people who have said to me that they would happily buy this game if it was just say five or ten pounds cheaper. They would profit less per game but the increased amount of people buying it would more than make up for that. Most people are simply not willing to pay full price for an unfinished game. So i really dont see what they have to lose.

  • @Mrinconn Same here.

I'd definitely buy it if it was cheaper.

If it was released $30 seems fair, but for an Alpha game thats not even finished its too much for me.

  • @Esthin $30 is for the finished game, not just the alpha. It is a pre-order, after all.

  • @GerbaIity Yeah true.

I ended up getting it anyway after watching more videos heh.

  • @GerbaIity Mount & Blade had a pricing scheme where if you bought early (i.e. 2005), you would get the game for cheap and ALL the updates afterwards for free. But if you bought late (i.e., 2008) you paid more. If Overgrowth used a pricing scheme similar to that, it might get more people buying.

  • @Nettacki I agree. Minecraft did a similar thing. I bought it for <10 dollars I think, lol.

  • @Razorowl We pay much more for games that are not even half of the quality and fun as this game...

  • @dany080 and this came isnt even finished either

  • @TheLetterY13 yep.He is coding this game so good and "simple" that he can implement anything he want.I am amazed whit their work and i cant wait till it is finished!Imagine all the things you can do in this game,it will be like in a dream, you wish something and it will happen!

  • @Razorowl come on, if you take into account that you get weekly alphas and a full level editor, its not that much.. bro.

  • I want to see Little Big Adventure 3 with this engine..

  • 0:45 like a boss

  • 0:46 - 0:50 :O I'm preordering.

  • 0:14 shattered neck bone

  • Here's an idea to balance throwing....Maybe the ability to catch them? IE, time it right, and you can snatch the enemies thrown weapon out of the air

  • There needs to be a chance for the blade to stick into the enemy and almost kill him.

I assume you're going to make arrows, so if you can throw a weapon like a projectile, it should perform like an arrow would if it lands a good hit. Just saying, the blade is going to need two different kinds of impacts.

  • lugaru was awesome and this looks so much sicker. cant wait

  • The graphics are actually fairly impressive. Any possibility on pom and tessellation being added? (obviously dont tesselate every single object, but just enough tessellation to smooth out objects on characters and on objects like cracks in the pillars etc., and using pom for making the ground have depth)

  • @Jetman082 I read that as "Any possibility on porn and tesselation being added" at first, and I was all "well I know that's what we're all THINKING, but jeez, man..."

  • @Jetman082 Tessellation would be nice, but would require minimum DX10 hardware and DX11 to get any decent performance out of it. I guess it could be like newer games where it's an option if you have the hardware. POM would be nice to. I use it in Crysis and the performance drop is almost negligible and the effect is really noticeable.

  • @AluminumHaste yeah, I mean if it were implemented in it would be amazing. Multibillion dollar corporations can't even implement it properly, but after watching this guy I know he could do it.

  • These development update videos are the best marketing ever. You've got an eye on making cool looking and brutal fights. I loved your wall running + jump + knife throwing.. :-D

  • 0:47 SOOOO EPIC\!!!!! OMFG

  • I can't believe this is an indie game

  • what engine are you using?

  • @MrLowelife He made one himself. It's called "Phoenix" if I'm not mistaken.

  • Will there be some kind of support for multiplayer, I would love to be able to play this with or versus a friend :)

  • What will be the objectives of the game, is it online war, cooperation against AI ?

  • @1Rvk1 why are the only options you named online ?

  • @ImTheWackhead I tough it was aimed to be an online game, fighting people online would be fun.

  • Comment removed

  • @1Rvk1 seriously?-.-

  • @MDksa123 ??

  • really hope this game will be purchasable on steam...

  • @45 BAD ASS!!!

  • How can I get my game in full screen size ?

  • Every single person who replies to Ronaldmonster is an absolute fucking retard.

  • how about if the knife stuck in the body

  • @HWLUXXN3O he hasnt got to the stab inpact yet, he said that at the beginning.

  • @HWLUXXN3O Was implemented in the newest alpha.

  • @HWLUXXN3O It is in this update.

  • @HWLUXXN3O Watch the next update, 166

  • @HWLUXXN3O In the beginning, he said he only had blunt collisions in a working state. Not that it matters anymore, as of 166 knives now stick.

  • @HWLUXXN3O nice recommendation that also would give more balance to the combat making it more difficult to take it back to the enemy and to you

  • @HWLUXXN3O It does (Alpha Changes 166)

  • @HWLUXXN3O It already does

  • 2 dislikes... these videos might be the least disliked videos i know!

  • -change the camera to a proper sideview locked to the 2d plane

-add a proper combo and input system using a 6 button style control scheme

    -Add okizeme, juggling

-remove the jump button, jumping should be done by tapping up

-add frame traps and negative frame moves on block

-add jump in attacks to start combos, as well as crossups

-make stages much much smaller, enclosed rooms with no hazards or obstacles of any kind no uneven terrain(I may make a few stages that allow for ringouts but that's it)

  • @ronaldmonster

    cont....

    -No items, no weapons, period

-No parkour, it's a fighter, you should FIGHT, not run around running on walls and leaping off ledges and shit

-add proper frame data so players can determine the best moves to use for high level play

-training mode, versus mode, that's it

  • @ronaldmonster This game isn't a fighter. Its a third person parkour fighting game, have you even ever played lugaru?

  • @ronaldmonster so basically take out everything that makes this game one of the coolest games ever... right... something tells me your just trolling...

  • @ronaldmonster Go back to /v/ and enjoy your shitty thread.

  • @ronaldmonster do you want the game to be released 2016?

they have plans and its easier to make a new game instead of adding the stuff your saying

no combo.. this aint street fighter(not even a fighter at all)

  • @ronaldmonster 1/10 Had me going there.

  • your doing a really good job here mate, i'd buy this :p

  • @MrPattern You can buy this.

  • 0:26 "I'm Neo."

  • wow, this look very interesting, ive stopped playing MMORPGs but i might try this later. THis is sure to be a hit with all the furries, so you alraedy got a player base there :). But animations and fighting techniques are pretty unique, thank god there are some indie guys with some talent making such games. Good Job Wolf

  • interesting... what is this game? it looks pretty badass

  • @liberator48 This, good sir, is Overgrowth. It is the sequel to Lugaru, an indie game released in 2008 made by Wolfire's own engine. Overgrowth is currently only in its alpha stage so it's more of a sandbox game than anything at the moment. However, you can pre-purchase the game ($30) and play with it. When they finally complete and release Overgrowth (1-2 years from now as they've said) we will receive steam codes (and possibly just a link to download it). It's more than worth it.

  • @BotheredMe 2014? ... ill just play lugaru.

  • @BRBSHUTUPNOOB It's still fun :p

  • 1:23

    oh god my lungs

  • Just preordered Overgrowth, downloading it... I'm excited and I didn't even played it yet! :D

  • If you add a grapple hook and throwing stars this games weapon choices will rock

  • Amazing

  • Needs some more tools. Grappling hooks, throwing stars or smoke bombs.

  • Bunny can has ninja shurikinz? :3

  • I am so exited for this game

  • 0:14 Thor is like: Man this aint my hammer, I THREW IT ON THE GROUND!

  • @murd3r0usmuffin *dubstep*

  • This looks really promising

  • When the story implemented, I fell I would be to relate to it slightly more if the protagonist was not a rabbit.

  • @frampoid Sad for you

  • @frampoid in the Overgrowth world?

    nope

  • @frampoid That's kinda the whole point

  • 0:49 That's awesome.

  • Hi, I'm from Brazil and I have a youtube channel and I'm planning to do a video showing the overgrowth alpha for my subscribers, is there any problem in uploding this? I'll make sure that the videos will contain links to this channel and the wolffire games website. Thanks 4 your time and I hope that this game will be released soon.

  • @viciousgameplay I'm not from Wolfire, but I can tell you I doubt there would be any problems. I mean, it's free advertising for them!

  • This game is full of epicness!! :D:D

  • yesss!

  • 1,000 likes 1 dislike? ...

  • If you are by any chance open to ideas posted on your comment sections, I would seem to have come up with an interesting one, what if there was a drop on all fours sprinting mechanic in which a player could use to traverse the level faster, just an idea, don't let it stop what you are doing, it looks amazing.

  • @gekkowolf

Agreed, I think it would be interesting if the wolves had an all four sprinting mechanic. If the wolves normal movement speed was slightly reduced, but they still had the quad sprint, that would balance the increased attack power by giving the other races with superior close range speed a better chance of dodging/ flanking. The wolves seem to be much less proficient with parkour, so that would give them a leg to stand on movement-wise. Also it would look fucking intense!

  • 1:06 Turner slices rabbit's torso in half...a second later the rabbit's like "OH CRAP BETTER PROTECT MY FACE"

  • @Shunnabunich

    He wasn't protecting his face.

He was covering his face in shame

  • @Shunnabunich When I read that I got all exited for dismemberment XD

  • 0:46 Is incredibly badass.

  • my ninja rabbit thing has telekinetic powers...

  • lol 1:28 random pwnage

  • The variety of moves that can be performed in the game already is amazing, but one of the styles that I really think would fit in well is Krav Maga. It's fast, brutal, and really seems like it would work well in combination with the other martial arts that you've employed.

  • 0:15 is EPIC! Also funny as hell

  • Add wolves. Thumbs up so he can see. wouldn't that be cool.

  • HAMMER! APPLY DIRRECTLY TO THE FOREHEAD!

  • 0:38 No way! Does that look familiar to anyone else?

  • @tpauluchs Its challenge level 2 from Lugaru.

  • @Xylometazoll Yeeeeaaaaaa, boyyyyyyyyyy

  • -______- I want to create game like you ._.

  • Galera entrem no meu canal ! E de suas opiniôes sobre os vídeos ! Wolfire ! gosto muito dos ses vídeos ! Olha la meus vídeos e da sua opiniao !

  • Don't make it an auto kill, knife throws are rarely immediately deadly, atleast less so than a stab. That should be enough to balance, if swords are thrown it seems more likely it'd be a blunt attack and not a slashing one, given the odds of actually hitting someone with the sharp end properly.
