  • Not available to view on mobile :(

  • What do you think you accomplish by not making this available on mobile? Think we're going to steal it on our phones? All you've done is guarantee that I won't ever watch this, and I love Fincher.

  • Se7en and Zodiac are his only good films.

  • @neeskha Yay for opinions.

  • @neeskha Go away

  • Song that starts at 0:56 anyone??

  • @KeithUnderneath: read the description for once.....

  • @TheUnremarkableMe Yeah, my bad. I read it already

  • @KeithUnderneath i believe thats social network

  • The best "The Films Of". This was brilliant, encapsulates Fincher's darkness, well done :)

  • Se7en is the best.

  • excellent!!

  • impresionanteeee me ha encantado como has montado el video y la música.. genial.

wooow I am impressed. I really liked the way you make it, the music... all is great!

  • 'Your best friend is suing you for 600 bazillion dollars.'

  • okay... i don't wanna be a clutz! but, isn't that kevin spacey at @1:51? he's not credited in seven... can someone help me! hahaha it's gonna bother me to no end... ps. great stuff, keep it up! :)

  • Genius. I'm gonna watch millenium tomorrow.

  • What's the name of the second song??

  • @Bumblestick 'Silent Melody' by Working for a Nuclear Free City

  • My favorite movies and a song by my favorite artist, this is truly beautiful

  • Some things last: The films of David Fincher

  • 2:13 Cue epicness

  • Thumbs up if you thought this was great, but could have used some trent reznor and atticus ross..

  • ...and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

  • Alien 3, best off? nahhhhh.

  • @HLimmen Even Fincher agrees Alien 3 was crap.

  • hahaha I used to mixed up David Fincher and David Lynch....

7.The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button

  • He did. It was Alien 3.

  • I wish he got to make an Alien film :)

  • If they ever come out with a box set of Fincher's movies, you need to be in charge of the advertisements

  • david fincher is my favorite director of all time....and i thank you so much for making this, the song goes perfectly as well

  • Would've been perfect if you had ducked the music for dialogue. Great job.

  • I feel guilty unless I somehow put my appreciation for this man's work, and the inspiration I get from his work. No one touches him and he is wildly adept, unique, versatile and has brought some of the best actors around into their element; the wild Brad Pitt, the electric Jesse Eisenberg, the enigmatic Robert Downey and many more (be sure to add Rooney Mara to this list). He goes for difficult and challenging projects and always pulls it off. Hats Off.

  • this was amazing... now just make it with mor the girl with the dragon tatoo that movie kicked ass

  • Comment removed

  • could you make this video available on mobile pleease?

  • @Animotion1000 That's not up to me. YouTube is doing a great job of making it seem like I'm the baddie here but in fact EMI chooses whether this is available on mobile or not.

  • you will now be able to add the great "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" to this total experience...kickArse

  • masterpiece...

  • "I was thinking how nothing lasts, and what a shame that is"

    "Some things last"

    CHILLS.

  • very nice video. I will feature it on my blog :-)

  • just highlighted now big a range Fincher has. how did the guy who made Zodiac, Fight Club and The Social Network make Benjamin Button? wtf. I'd forgotten that was his.

  • This is the greatest thing ive ever seen

  • I cant get over how great this is, not only have you matched Fincher's insanely precise cuts but you've created something new and simply the perfect homage. I can't stop watching it! It's becoming a real problem...

  • Can you do the films of Darren Aronofsky? One of my favourite directors apart from Fincher. xD

  • I don't quite understand why I find film montages so enjoyable, but I'm glad there are people like you out there that create them this masterfully.

  • this video is AMAZING!!! great great job!

  • Whoever made these videos is a genius!

  • This video is AMAZING! Awesome job! *subscribed*

  • I don't know what gives me more chills when I see this video- the fact that David Fincher is a god of movie making, or that your editing is honestly, and actually, exquisite.

  • "Some things last" ... the films of David Fincher.

thats an inspired ending Kees. Great Job!

  • Music please! Specially the second used song, what is it? Awesome editing by the way, keep up the good work!

  • @pinkdestroyer my body is a cage by arcade fire :D

  • This video is the epitome of your work

  • One of my favorite directors! Love him

  • i think he´ll do justice to dragon tattoo...and it will finish as one of the best movies of the year

  • Beautiful! Would've been nice to see Dragon Tattoo included...overall very well done!

  • please re-do this when the girl with the dragon tattoo comes out! i nearly burst into tears at how good this was!!!!!

  • I loved Se7en

  • Absolutely LOVE every version you put out so far. But, I feel like the series is incomplete.

    Scorsese.

    Aronofsky.

    Tarantino.

This would bring me tears of joy.

  • @jinnuu Seconded!

  • @jinnuu Yes he needs to do Scorses but also

    Christopher Nolan

    Anthony Minghella

    Clint Eastwood

  • ORGASM

  • I have no words. It's a great tribute to a beyond fantastic director. Great Job!

  • So where's "The Goon", I know it is unfinished but there's still footage out there?

  • I cant wait for you're Christopher Nolan one

  • Man, you are good. I am a super critical dbag critic but I have to give credit where it is due. Your videos are simply amazing. Ever thought of directing movies? We need people like you.

  • please tell what music is used in 0:30 pls pls pls pls pls pls pls

  • 1. Zodiac

    2. Se7en

    3. The Social Network

    4. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

    5. Alien 3

    6. Panic Room

    7. The Game

    8. Fight Club

  • @Psifonian2 WTF...Wait...your joking right??? I dont understand..Fight Club at 8...no your just kidding.....right? telll me your joking. I pray for your soul

  • @3Axy10Est13 Not kidding. The other films are simply better. "Alien 3," "Panic Room," and "The Game" get a lot of undue hate ("The Game" is weak, yes, but I feel "Fight Club" is even weaker). But "Fight Club" is beloved to the point of overrated, and it just did nothing for me. "Zodiac" is Fincher's masterpiece.

  • @Psifonian2 everyone including Fincher probably would isagree...Why do you think Fight Club is overated, Zodiac is great but Fight Club is definately his masterpiece. The Game is Great too...i dont know why you are bashing them, Brad Pitts performance was oscarworthy, unfortunately he had to compete with Kevin Spacey in American Beauty...Which wasnt fair because Spacey's Performance was sublime

  • @3Axy10Est13 Firstly, on the topic of the Oscars, Pitt is a supporting actor in "Fight Club," so he wouldn't have been going against Spacey. And Spacey should have lost to Farnsworth for "The Straight Story," a far more sublime performance.

Secondly, Fincher has gone on record stating "Zodiac" to be his masterpiece and favorite film of his.

Thirdly, I'm not bashing "Fight Club," but that doesn't change the fact that it's Fincher's weakest work.

  • @Psifonian2 Pitt and Norton were leads but how did Spacey not deserve the oscar, that was a very easy choice. Farnseworth's performance was not oscarworthy at all

  • @Psifonian2

fight club was fincher's greatest work. it tapped into the nihilism of youth that was rampant in 99 when it came out. it was an extremely subversive film which infuriated the mainstream movie studios who see themselves as guardians of capitalism and right wing american culture. fincher almost was not allowed to work again. so he made nonsubversive panic room and hollywood gave him another chance.

  • This is still one of my favorite videos of yours.

  • thumbs up if this gives you goosebumps!

  • you need to do steven speilberg

  • song name? of the beginning?

  • if Fincher saw this video then I would love to ask him to thank the uploader for it.

    epic video, sir

  • All amazing movies!

Except for The Game, which sucked ass.

  • Holy shit, do one for Michael Mann.

  • SE7EN :D

  • what song is that towards the end?

  • @GoodKnightFilms All the song's are in the description, and it is called "My body is a cage", by Arcade Fire.

  • se7en is such a good film

  • Damn I didn't know he directed all of these... what an awesome director, most of these are in my list of all time favorites

  • I like the typography nod to Social Network.

  • It's David Fincher, Bitch!

  • My. Life. Is. Complete.

  • what film of his is that war scene from at 2:13?

  • @PatrickMcCaulayTV It's from Benjamin Button. It's near the beginning when Daisy is telling her daughter about the story of the clockmaker who's son went to fight in the war and died.

  • @PatrickMcCaulayTV Yah, Curious Case of Benjamin Button

  • @PatrickMcCaulayTV curious case

  • You would be my hero if you showcased Mr. Tarantino's work. ^__^

  • @Cornflak Tarantinos Movies are Infantile

  • @InfamousMrK I'm sorry you feel that way :( I think they're some of the best films I've seen! :D

  • @Cornflak Fairplay to you kind sir the former half of his directing career was amazing up until Jackie Brown then he made Kill Bill and it all went down hill from there. He keeps knocking out these tribute movies that pay homage to all his favroute movies but there terrible. Death Proof was a train wreck and Inglourious Basterds was half brilliant and then Eli Roth ran down a corridor in slo-mo and blew some guys head off and spoiled the serious tone most of the movie had going for it.

  • Silent Melody from InFamous!!! =D

  • What I really love about your retrospectives is that you really capture the continuity of each director's work. And your use of music is fantastic. Good job!

  • How did u get the footage

  • Comment removed

  • My Body is the Cage part always gives me chills everytime I watch it

  • This movie is about Brad Pitt who is a backwards ageing detective and he starts a fightclub with his friend Zuckerberg but soon they get into a massive fight in court about copyrights so Brad flees into the panic room where the alien and the zodiac killer are playing the game which is about the seven deadly sins. Fincher is awesome

  • this video is PERFECT!

and David is a fuckin genius!

  • @iljusb A perfect representative of a generation of exploitative users and narcissists - films that are so repellent and cynical and deliberately nihilistic that only a sociopath could really love them. Intellectual pornography.

  • someone played infamous ;)

  • Please, PLEASE do Stanley Kubrick next.

  • How can you put a ranking on a filmmaker when all of his films are golden and inspirational? Thank you.

  • David Fincher is my fucking hero.

  • The Game deserves more credit, IT IS SUCH AN AMAZING MIND FUCK

  • This is a really amazing video. Very well done. Really excited to see more of these. David Fincher is a true visionary, and one of the best filmmakers around. The only movie of his I don't like is Alien 3, but that's not his fault. Here's my ranking of his films:

    1. The Social Network

    2. Zodiac

    3. Se7en

    4. Fight Club

    5. Panic Room

    6. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

    7. The Game

    8. Alien 3

  • wow! this is pure perfection :O

DF is one of greatest directors and you are one of the greatest editors on YT!!!!!

I absolutely LOVE all his movies except The Social Network and I have to tell you that your editing , coloring , music & clip choises are ideal and freaking fantastic at the very least. e x c e l l e n t job!!!!

    btw I'm subing right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I guess this is about the third time today I am watching this masterpiece.

  • this is so good, but I just had a I thought. I don't know if you like Quentin Tarantino, but if you do that would be a neat video!

  • You are very strong..:p

  • honestly, this video was amazing. it was a montage of my favorites. :D

  • do Ridley at some point...but wait for Prometheus...also I see you like to do directors that don't have a massive filmography...Ridley has a huge one obviously, so take your time on that, that's definitely a massive undertaking but I think you're just the one to pull it off...also you seem to use contemporary music, a Ridley one would almost have to be mostly instrumentals. Just my Ridley fandom opinion...anyone you do will obviously be great

  • amazing editing btw, can't wait to see more videos

  • what's the song at 0:60?

  • Such a good film maker, it's hard to say which if his films was his best. Fight Club is just perfect really, but I thought Se7en was his chef d'oeuvre, kicks ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I heard he might adapt 1984 to the big screen

  • Fincher definitely will last!

  • Fight Club definitely was his best!!

    EPIC MOVIE!

  • Kubrick, Burton, Cameron, Lynch, Cronenberg, Aranofsky, Tarantino, Malick, P.T. Anderson, Nolan, Bryan Singer, Coen Bros, Ridley Scott, just some more ideas. Your videos rock man!
