  • The greatest!!!!

  • ATTENTION PEOPLE OF EARTH..........THIS IS THE SHIZ

  • damn good album.

  • How blue can IT get? ...fantastic blues intro/climax - doesn't get much bluesier. Best version :D

  • tonight at midnight, can hardly wait

  • If I was a female, I'd want to have B.B's children. He's that badass.

  • it would have been worth getting locked up just to hear this.

  • The opening guitar solo kills me every time. He is the Master.

This is an extended thesis on what Blues is, and how to play it.

Except no one can quite play it like BB.

  • Ohh my joys of the blues running deep threw my body, feeln the good times n years fly by watching BB-King getn high, life is how you make it chilln letting yourself lose control, now im doing my own thing feeln da blues run all over me. (= (; xXx

  • Primitive Radio gods sampled from 2:51 to 3:10, "standing outside a phonebooth with change in my hand"

  • hes coming to my town in November! my stinky little town!! ive got tickets im so happy!

  • I only wish someone would upload the next song on this album, "Worry Worry Worry".

  • People didn't "like" this? Color me dumbfounded.

Trolls will plague the Interwebz forerever. Taste is a matter of opinion, and some people aren't entitled to one! If these trolls can play better blues, I swear I will offer public apologies. Until then, I stand by my angry statement; these people are simple tasteless.

  • Thank you Primitive Radio Gods for turning me onto such a talented Jazz sound!

  • Who the hell are the two people who dislike this?

  • @ThePowerPlay1 I bet they're the judge and prosecutor

  • Great piece of music!

  • the 2 must be on death row ....

  • how can you give a thumbs down to this song? 2 dislikes ? anyone who dislikes the blues hasnt experienced enough hardship

  • Thanks 4 the great post but y can't this be played on a mobile device? Thanks

  • i saw bb live and he was the coolest guy ever, he gave out picks to everybody in the front row and talked to the audience and even took time to thank the opening act.

  • This is music in its purest form

  • Nothin' like the Blues.

  • cook county jail is just outside chicago illinois, fabulous venue, captive audience

  • @renoman0001 LOL

  • CHICAGO, GOD! you are on the computer for pity sakes, duh. I saw him live twice in Chicago, once at Mr. Kelly's downtown Chicago(late sixties or early seventies), now burned down. Also, saw him at the house of blues in orlando fla . He's the best. I bought this album when it first came out, dont know what happened to the damn thing? "And now you want to give them Back!"

  • @Zumramania lazy ass

  • right on! I dig it

  • I must be getting old because this was one of the first blues album I ever bought as well, however when I took it home I had to put it under the needle on the turn table there were no CD players in 1970 and I didn't cry all night but I did grt high all night. $10.00 lids

  • My God, this was one of the first blues albums I ever bought. I took it home and put it in my c.d. player one night and literally cried at the beauty of the sounds. I think this was B.B. King's finest guitar playing right here.

  • @johnnychaos91185 I agree 100%

  • Great playing. I prefer guitar tone on Live at the Regal. Not that this is a bad tone, it's dirty and funky, but not as pretty as Regal's.

  • @Zumramania you two should get a room.

  • My favorite BB king album I still have it . A classic

  • Yes. In order to understand where B comes from, you have to see him live. This LP is excellent. . . don't get me wrong. But it's not like seeing him live.

  • I have this on vinyl. So good. Eargasm.

  • i think this one of his greatest albums,ever-live or otherwise!!!! i remember my grandpa having this on cassette yrs ago, then i bought it when it came out on cd. been a long time since i've listened to some gd ol' B.B.!!! i still get chills when i hear this song!!

  • This is definately BB s best guitar solo on this song,,,its always great but this version is the best!

  • I love the snarky voice he does for the woman.

  • The greatest ... there isn't a guitar player out there who doesn't wish he could play like B.B. King. If I'm not mistaken, Frank Sinatra said something along the lines of: "If we could all sing the way we wanted to, we'd all sing like B.B. King." Not the best, but the greatest. Nobody plays with more feeling. I'd give my left nut to play like B.B. Not Hendrix, not Clapton, not Stevie Ray Vaughan. B.B. King. Best Blues guitarist that ever lived.

  • B B King is like the Bach of blues in that he has absorbed most or all blues styles into a style that is the most sophisticated of all his contemporaries while being true to the original models of the Delta Blues very crude and achaic forms. B B has done this with a genius and clarity that is perfectly on parr with a classical composer.

  • this is probably my favorite album of all time. you gotta listen to this guy live

  • @rccarfreak997 I would love to do that, in fact there is no other living musicians i would like to see more than him. It's just that I'm afraid he won't tour Europe anymore. I hope I'm wrong. And I have to agree with you for this being my favourite (blues) album.

  • @Zumramania

Hey, he is coming to play at Glastonbury this year/.

  • @rccarfreak997 He really played his heart out on this album. I had it on c.d. when I was a kid. I collected alot of B.B. King and this was my favorite one,

  • I think, the real beauty of youtube is that it brings people together;people that enjoy quality. Could somone point out to me a guitar riff that is equal to the opening 2:46 of this cut? I'm 48, I've listened to it several thousand times now, I can't think of one. God bless you BB King!

  • @deven1961 u r correct... bb king is the king of elegance and class when it comes to blues.....

  • @deven1961 The only thing close is BB s own opening on Guess who.

  • Really amazing, this. Love how the prisoners just eat up the verses near the end.

  • the best bb king album it never gets old a im pretty old he was excellant in concert saw him a few times . Some bands are just horrible live

  • The two best blues albums in existence are BB King Live in Cook County Jail, and Muddy "Mississippi" Waters Live.

  • for their respective styles, I'll agree, but there are levels of the blues.

I mean Texas Flood (Stevie Ray Vaughan) has got to be one of the greatest as well... its just a different style

  • there is just SOMETHING about this particular version that I love than any other..much much respect and love to BB King! still on the throne baby!

  • No fucking shit! This is the best man. I love this guy. He is fucking awesome. Come on man, listen to this riff. This shit is happening. I just had two bottles of sake and I can say, I am fucking stoked by this take. Yeahhhh baby!!!!!

  • Matt: "Can't be as bad as the cabbage role at the Terra-Phelevo Penn. "

Elwood: "Or that oatmeal at the Cook County slammer. "

Matt: "Well they're all pretty bad."

    -blues brothers

  • Alright, listen to the first 2 minutes and 51 seconds. OK, where do you hear guitar solo like that these days? Oh yeah, no where. God Bless youi BB King! I love you man!

  • Where is cook county?

  • In the state of illinois, usa.

  • @Zumramania

Cook County is famous because it is the county in which the city of Chicago resides and a good number of outlying suburbs.

  • Cook County Jail is basically Chicago. Chicago is in Cook County.

  • @BoxenRobl Cook county is Chicago's county including surrounding suburbs. It's one of the toughest prisons around. GREAT LIVE MATERIAL, glad somebody has this on youtube.

  • @BoxenRobl Chicago, Illinois.

  • @BoxenRobl The Blues brothers talk about it with Mat Murphy ,during the Maxwell st scene.

  • @BoxenRobl Chicago, IL

  • @BoxenRobl chicago

  • Ahhhh... the man who influenced just about every one of the rock/blues guitar icons.

This used to be my favorite BB "playing' album, he owns the guitar and the blues!

Driving the amp harder during this phase, great tone!

    Thanks for posting....
