Dog wipes her feet

My wife physically wiped Bella's rear and front paws when she came in on wet days and gave her a treat. Bella doesn't do it any more, unfortunately.

dogs don't wipe their feet, this one is scent marking with her feet. Dogs are not "kissing" you when they lick your face either, they are trying to get you to regurgitate food. This is hard wired behavior that people misunderstand as affection. Now you know.

you're no fun. now you know. btw, since no human regurgitates food in response to dog "kisses", perhaps the behavior has "evolved" into something else from contact with humans.
