There is more regulation in America today than in the 1930's because American and the world have gotten a lot more complex since that time. We live in the age of the micro chip, which means free flow of information any where in the world to any one, that was a crazy dream during FDR's time. The population has grown, new problems have emerged, so you need more common senes regulation but you also need to limit beuracracy.

Before the corporatist american medical association got special priveliges from the government, one days salary could pay for a year of healthcare. Then, after a ton of regulation and ruined competition in healthcare, prices are some of the highest. So the logical step to bring down the price of healthcare, and also hopefully increase quallity, is to deregulate. that's just my conclusion.
