I already built a custom 360 arcade controller and I've have recently had wiring issues. Would you be solder the wires to a new 360 wired controller circuit board? If so, how much would you charge? I will pay for the circuit board from the controller too.
That's a very cool setup. It'd be cool if you got a solid oak kitchen table and put 2 sticks in it for VS play when peeps come over. Plus you could fit more beer on it!
Wow that is insanely badass... hell if you can make reliable ones out of broken 360 controllers maybe you could start a business ;) usually the only broken parts are the joysticks/buttons anyhow
If you want me to solder you pcb I will do it for 30 bucks. You got to send it to me. Send me a message if you are still interested. Wireless or wired?
In case you do another in the future you can save yourself some trouble by not wiring each individual ground on the pcb. You can just daisy chain the grounds of the buttons and joystick to eachother, and just run ONE ground wire to ANY ground spot on the pcb.
Yes that would be ideal....with common ground controllers. This one isn't. Keep in mind this was done over 2 years ago. Microsoft was still coming out with new controller models. Some CBAs don't have that option. I have done both many times. Thanks for trying to help though.
Both ways present solutions. It's good to learn both. This video was done before SSFIIHD so it wasn't a fad back then. I winged it. There wasn't anything on the internet on this stuff back then. This was the most direct solution at the time. Depending on what your setup is it might require you to do either or. I've had to do both.
@sadomeso Some games require you use the DPad like Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. You can't change the game buttons to allow you to use the analog stick instead of the DPAD. I am trying to avoid the DPad but it looks like I have to do it...
Yeah this video was made before all the craze. Didn't know where to get JLFs at the time. This table is almost 2 years old man. There have been many tables and sticks that have been made since then. This was the Mark 1.
Hmm... It's pretty cool, but it doesn't have any print on it, and if you would put prints on it, it would look ugly 'cause a table with prints on it just looks ugly...
That's one way to not have your fight stick slide all over ...sans an arcade cab. I have an old coffee table that I want to turn into a cocktail mame cab.
Just check Craigslist and Freecycle and look for a cheap table. A lot of the time, people get rid of stuff just because they're moving or because they don't have time to refinish it and don't have time to sell it for what it's worth. If it's a table you got for free, maybe your wife wouldn't mind so much...?
Yes I have I have made about 9 different variations of tables and boxes. Most of the parts are just for testing so those parts are x-arcade. Gotta save money to get better parts for all the tables and boxes. Only Happs and Sanwas from now on.
Pretty sick. Any chance of putting up a "how-to" tutorial Bob Villa style so we can all enjoy a cup of joe while we beat the shit out of our digital foes!
That is pretty bad ass. I could see people paying a lot of money for one of these with two controllers for basement game rooms and kids rooms. Me I would have this in my living room.
Cool idea. Now you can multi-task with your coffee table. You can play games with the arcade controller and have a nice cup of coffee right there are the same spot.
its as simple as taking three fingers, and then pressing all three at once. not real trick to it. a little bit easier to do with sanwa buttons since they're big and kinda sensitive to touch. but really it takes no skill at all.
no doubt that thing is cool .. I wanna learn how to mod a controller and do all them soldering and stuff .. I'd make EVERYTHING into an arcade stick .. lol
Trying to modify my arcade joystick . i connected the "x" and "y" button and they are ok and show up on the game. but the "a" and "b" button are not activated. "a" and ''b'' only works on the menu screen. HEEEEEELLLPPPP!!!!!!
Well it depends. You get what you pay for when it comes to buying arcade parts. If you are a casual player and don't play fighting games competitively then a cheap alternative is what I used in the video which is x-arcade parts. If you want sure shot game play then HAPP or Sanwa parts are the way to go.
i gotta be honest... im a noob when it comes to knowing about parts.. i still dont know what HAPP or x-arcade or sanwa or seimitsu mean.. im just gonna tell you that i want american type joystick(bat not ball) and regular buttons.

yea but its only for testing. you can google it and see ppl done it with shoe boxes.
I already tried and and since i'm going the cheap route, i found a subwoofer that was being trashed and cut it, sand it, painted it and right now i got it working, but i'm waiting for the joystick so i can finish it
