  • what CPU cooler is that?

  • I cant fucking hear it if you keep talking...

  • if my motherboards has 1 PCIe-3.0 slot and 1 PCI-e2.0 slot and i try to install dual evga gtx 580 graphics cards, would they work?

  • @TheJimmyman888 yeah, all pci express slots are compatible with any pcie related thing so you'll be good you just won't have the same bandwith speed

  • @TheJimmyman888 yes a gtx is pcie 2.0 and the pcie 3.0 slot is backwards compatible so it will work.

  • Is it possible to cause harm to my GTX 580's fan by keeping it at very high speeds for a long time?

  • The GTX480 was the louest one as far as the loading noise goes. I like the sound of the 580 though. I love all the wind. It's a bit like when grivus is spinning his lightsabers. But without the hum.

  • Even Dubstep tops the 480....'^^

  • gtx 480 is a great vga, it's however the top of gtx 4xx series! I have a gtx 480 :)

  • Kat behind monitor at 1:09 :D

  • It's pain in the ass to clean those fans and heatsinks :D

  • Motherboard tower, this is GTX 480, requesting permission to take off.

GTX 480 you are clear for take off.

  • I've had a Gainward GTX 580 Phantom 3GB for about 7 months now and it makes a terrible noise when under load, it sounds like a hairdryer.

So, I put a waterblock on it - noise gone. Oh, apart from a very annoying high-pitched whining sound which I'm told is unavoidable as its to do with stress on the PCB when the card is under heavy load....

  • Hahaha GTX 480 Sounds like a Boeing 747 xD

  • The GTX480 is silent compared to my old XFX GeForce 9600GSO. That things was so loud on idle... Then again, it then blew itself up. Literally.

I now have a GTS250 and its and quiet as can be.

  • radial coolers suck! gtx 580 ftw...

  • i sow kitty on this video ....tis behind the monitor...meow !!!!

  • this video does not do justice to the actual noise of the 480. the mighty nVidia Thermi rivals some hair driers. There's two of them screaming through folding@home next to me right now to heat my room. I game with headphones on until I can afford water cooling!

  • why the fuck would Nvidia and AMD put such shit coolers on these HIGH end video card HIGH END CARDS should only be for HIGH END computer cases!!! SO tripple fans or dual at least .. this is ALL terrible noise!! thats why i just bought GTX 580 lightning with a proper cooler!!!

  • @Arnoud1987000 go with MSI or one with two fans -.-

  • 1:09 Bengal Kitty at the side!

  • GTX 480

  • my fking xbox is louder then all of this

  • Starcraft 2

    =3

  • My Xbox is as loud as all of those combined :D

  • that 480 is still quieter than my 295...

    Also, just ordered 2 580's :D

  • @ha68ha

What kind of 580's are you going to put in SLI?

I've been wondering what brand/version of 580 works well together

in terms of temperature and sound.

    Not easy to tell.

Not that I have the money or anything. Just dreaming away.

  • @mocari, I got the PALIT 3GB ones, sound like a mini vacuum cleaner on full load. Didn't get chance to check any temps as I had to RMA my mobo (G1 Sniper 2), it has two BOIS's and they both got corrupted... Seems to be a major problem with gigabyte's z68 boards.

  • Oh shit! a Cat. The cat was the quietest, ninja cat.

  • my Asus 6850 sounds like someone vacuuming really close to my door when I play cod 4 :/

  • a cat near a 100% exposed computer?

Imagine if it touch a fan... poor car, it would hurt a lot.

  • JESUS! THATS HUGE!!!! <----Thats what she said lol, but seriously that graphics card is huge XD

  • i can't hear 480 ! oopss. i have muted my speakers :P

  • Is the fan speed at load on 100% or 80% Linus?

  • Chralie bravo 480 ready for liftoff!

  • hey i like your COMPUTER CASE (SERIOUSLY LOVE IT)

  • obviously it is amd the winner

  • hi, my Zotac GTX 580 has an idle Temp of 55° Celsius.... and 45%-50% Fan speed... its a litle bit loud... anyone knows why?

  • @Razos13 55°? thats a lil bit high .. i got Gainward GTX 580 maximum 42° ..

either ur room temp is high or ur pc in a closed place .. if not then maybe u hav a small pc case or ur chassis fans is dusty and needs to be cleaned ..

  • Having no case, how does it work out for you?

  • I own a MSI H67MA-E45 which is a micro ATX, would this card fit on it? It has enough PCi slots.

  • Thumbs up for the cat xD

  • dam the 480 is hard

  • theres a snake on your testbench

  • @flowingmarc >_< Yeah it's a scarlet kingsnake.

  • are you fucking insane?

  • @chubaka1992 getting it in 14 hours momhmhmomogomomhgmomoghomhmohmohomooohoomgogomgmogogogogogomggooggmomogomgomgomgomgomg

  • ATI HD series for ever.

  • @superjel6 you are right dont for get amd forever amd makes radeon to.

  • @superjel6 with no physiX its useless believe me -_-

  • Nobody's battlestation is complete without a kitty!

  • HD5870 wins, low noise, low heat output, and affordable.

  • 1:09 - CAT BEHIND MONITOR!!!!

  • it would suck if you and your buddies were drinking and some one sneezed and spilled there drink on your epic computer >.>

  • Boeing GTX480 -_-'

  • wow the 480 sounds like a jet!

  • @mfcdubshop i can say something corny but ....yeah its no need

  • 5870 fucks the world for low noise output.

  • Guys, should I get a GTX 460 2GB, or a GTX 550 TI 1GB???? Which is better?????

    Thanks!

  • @scruffylittledog 550 TI would be the best buy

  • @scruffylittledog 460 is a better card

  • @MrComputereviews a 460 is better than a 550ti

  • 1:08 THE CAT!!

  • @AwesomeFace50 haha didnt notice that untill you you said it

  • The subscription button... its... its so hard to click!!!! 0.o but i got it =P

  • oh come on, the 580 GTX heats up to 81C and the fan speed doesn't go up at all. I don't like my temps going to 80C so I manualy adjust it. And its more bearably then my old 5870 + my EVGA 580 GTX doesn't get me all the red lines (so far). + 1 for NVidia. Though I still think the cards are overprised.

  • 1:23 a jet plane just flew by his house :D

  • 1:22 lmao jet takeoff

  • P67 and H67 boards will support Ivy Bridge 22nm processors after BIOS and firmware updates

  • @AiDz0r Indeed, Ivy Bridge will be compatible.

It was just in case you really want/need those x16 lanes on each GPU. Because in that case, you may as well go for Ivy Bridge.

  • @15in1 I see, when the new IvyBridge come out in mid-end 2011, do I need to purchase a new mobo, or will GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD7-B3 (B3 Stepping) do good enough? and when ivy bridge comes out, i just switch the CPU right? Because i need a pc asap, im using a Pentium 4 which is badly limiting my needs.

  • @AiDz0r Well ... You will need a whole new motherboard to run two x16 lanes at the same time.

What graphics card are you planning to buy ? DO you really need the x16 lanes ?

But yes, when Ivy Brigde CPU's arrive, you just plug in the new CPU in your LGA 1155 socket and it should fit perfectly.

  • @15in1 I'm planning to buy:

    Core i7-2600K

    Corsair 6GB DDR3

    1.2GB GIGABYTE nvidia GTX570

    CORSAIR HX-850W (PSU)

    Antec Darf-Fleed DF-85 (case)

    GA-P67A-UD7-B3

    Noctua NH-D14 (2x raid0) WD Caviar Black 500GB SATA3

  • @AiDz0r Are you planning to go SLi with the GTX 570's in the future ?

  • Antec Dark-Fleet DF-85** Typo

  • @15in1 Well yes, not now, because of budget, but later yes i will.

  • @AiDz0r Then you won't nee anymore lanes than x8 on each :)

    I belive it's all good.

  • wow gtx 580 is silent to its strong gpu

  • Linus what test bench are you using?

  • when i got to sleep at night, i get scared because i know there is an overclocked GTX580 in my closet. when i got to get it to put it in my system it spits fire at me...hot...hot...fire.

  • You need to test the noise of the cat , unfortunately the cat needs an special slot :P

  • >mfw the 480 on load sounds like a jet engine

  • @lL3GACY i have the ATI HD 5850, i think mine is better than your one.

  • that one big thing...

  • nice cat :-)

  • subscribe, its not hard. thumps up. haha

  • LOL 480

  • what motherboard is? model

  • Amd's card was cruising like a pimp down the street. Nvidia's cards hobble around like a pimps hoe would on good Friday night. Thanks goodness for aftermarket dual air coolers.

  • I don't know much about computers... My PSU (1000w) doesn't have a PCI-e cable and I want a GTX570, but I'm scared I won't be able to install it, because of the cables. Plus I don't know how to install the right cable connectors to the PSU.

  • @4PsychoNitro you can use Molex to 6pin PCIe connectors. I use them on a 600w and they work just fine.

  • @AsianPerson3 Ooh, thanks. I'll look into those. -- I don't think I have any available Molex connectors (The white ones?) I probably have one that's out, but I don't know if that's from a fan or the PSU itself...

  • GTX 580... Do want :D

  • hola deseo saber si puedo poner la gtx 580 en una placa madre gigabyte 890gpa-ud3h? ya que veo que es muy grande esa tarjeta y no sabria si cabria en mi pc muchas gracias

  • So which one was quietest?

I currently have a 5870 and I have been trying to decide if I should buy a GTX 580, noise is a biggy for me.

  • GTX 480= Epic Fail!

  • Cat at 1:10 :D

  • 1:25 it's sounds like a aircraft HOLY FUCKING SHIT

  • @kubuxx1551 I want everything to be perfect, because this new rig im getting will be the new Core i7-2600K still couldn't decide for LGA 1155 Motherboard (GIGABYTE or ASUS) suggestions please. for the new LGA 1155 socket motherboard

  • @kubuxx1551 you sure? The specs show 6970 has a higher bandwidth rate,Texture Units and Stream Processors. Only what GTX 570 has is CUDA which is only used when the software supports it. Usually for Media editors, Which i won't be doing but will do short video clips then again i don't mind CUDA.

The price here are exactly same at the local store $439 I erased 570 wasn't good enough im now thinking GTX 580 or HD 6970, 580 for sure, but its really expensive compared to 6970.. help me!! >_<

  • @AiDz0r Those specs. aren't a way to primary determine how well a card is performing. The GTX 570 is more silent than the Radeon 6970. I, personally, would go for a GTX 570. It's around the same, and I'm a little Nvidia biased.

Regarding to the LGA 1155 mobo's, the Asus is the superior when compared to Gigabyte, but then there is the pricing. Check out the reviews instead, TomsHardware made an awesome and detailed review of around eight p/h67 mobos.

  • @15in1 hmm, But i really don't care how much silent or noise it makes. It wont matter for me, because ill be using headset. Then again im looking forward to 580, and is ASUS P8P67-Deluxe good?

  • @AiDz0r As I said, check out a review. Much better for both of us, mainly you.

  • @15in1 Ok i don't understand one thing, when CF/SLI the ASUS P8P67-Deluxe it supports "2 x PCIe 2.0 x16" but the thing i don't get is, it says, "(single at x16 or dual at x8/x8 mode)"

Then when doing Dual Graphics card, does the speed drop to x8 mode each? Is that normal on all mobo's or just this one?

  • @AiDz0r Yes, when adding a second graphics the x16 lanes goes down to two x8 lanes. So they are sharing x16 lanes. There are review for that as well, "x8 vs x16".

Normally, when you are SLI'ing, let's say, two GTX 460's, the frame rates drops around 3 when using the x8 mode. You get around 3 FPS more when you use x16, so it should really matter. But when you're using a very high-end card like the GTX 570 or GTX 580 or Radeon 6970 the x8 speed may bottleneck your system.

  • @15in1 Sorry, I meant "3 FPS should not really matter".

  • @AiDz0r And yes, as far as I know, the sharing of x8 lanes goes for all the p/h67 mobos. Unfortunately. But those motherboard are designed for the mainstream segment mainly, so they don't expect consumers to buy very high-end cards with these motherboards.

  • @AiDz0r Sorry, I didn't see this till now. My bad.

The "2 x PCIe 2.0 x16" is completely wrong. The P67/H67 chipsets doesn't support 2 x PCIe 2.0 x16. Only x8 lanes maximum on each PCI-E 2.0 if you are having more that one card inserted. Therefore, x8 on each graphics card.

But if you add a third card in the third PCI-E 2.0 slot, the third will only be at x4 speed.

Unless you own a really high end grapichs card, the difference between x8 and x16 will hardly matter anything. Perhaps a few FPS.

  • @AiDz0r However, it does support x16 lanes if you only have one card inserted. But for SLI or Crossfire, it will be x8 lanes each maximum.

  • @15in1 Are you sure?

    GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD7-B3

    ASUS P8P67-WS-REVOLUTION-B3

    ASUS MAXIMUS-IV-EXTREMEV3

    .

Says that it supports 16X on DUAL. Check the official website and click specification. If you say that's false, I guess then your correct.

  • @AiDz0r Yes, dual. Which means the x16 lanes will split in half when two graphics cards are plugged in.

    I am 100% sure.

  • @15in1 It says:

    .

    2x PCI Express x16 slots, running at x16 (PCIEX16_1, PCIEX16_2)

  • @AiDz0r Well, both of them supports x16 lanes. So you can use both of them if you want x16 lanes. However, you can not use them at the same time, then they will only support x8 lanes each.

I'm am quite certain it's the way it is. Afaik, the shipset cannot run more than x8 lanes on each GPU.

Also, this is just their mainstream chipset. The Ivy Bridge will be their high-end and will be released in a few months or so. It should definitely support x16 on more than one PCI-E.

  • @15in1 I see, Ivy bridge, will that run on the 1155 Mobo, or are they going to release a total new architecture, with different pins

  • @AiDz0r So .. Perhaps the "2 x PCIe 2.0 x16" wasn't all that wrong. But as far as I know, the PCI-E slots cannot both run x16 at the same time.

  • @15in1 news.softpedia.co m/newsImage/Intel-LGA-1155-Sandy-Bridge-Motherboards-Confirmed-to-Be-Compatible-with-Ivy-Bridge-CPUs-3.jpg/

  • @AiDz0r What about it ?

  • @15in1 This is the GA-P67A-UD7-B3

  • You're a fucking idiot. If you put it in a case that has sound dampening, you wouldn't have any issue.

  • That's one huge graphic card

  • 580 is so quiet compared to the 480 and 5870.

  • what software was he using to get a load on it?

  • @LinusTechTips I need help on deciding if I should go for the Core i7-2600K (LGA 1155) or Core i7-950 (LGA 1366). I cannot decide, I was told that LGA 1155 the 2600K is nearly as good as 980X.

  • @LinusTechTips I need help deciding, if I should get:

    EVGA 1280MB 570SC for $509 AUD or

    Gigabyte 2G AMD HD 6970 $539 AUD?

  • THATS FUCKING MASSIVE

  • @bassyboy189 Thats what she said

  • you can afford all that gpu's but you doesent have money to buy a cpu case

  • @pkai21 Its his job... they get them for free stupid

  • this is a set up! 580 is way louder on the same load,an the heat it generates inside the housing makes it Impossibile for sli with default heatsink,oc not to mention

  • i want this... cat ! ;)

  • Gave me one frome those Cards :(

  • GTX 480 FUC K AN AIRPLANE!!! can u do this video again with radeon 6970 and 6950 please please.... they use same cooling system like gtx 580...

  • @99BikeFag stfu and GTFO faggot

  • you spin me right now baby right now like a wirle wind. lol I think thats the right lyrics

  • @mrstonedwolf

    afraid not :-)

  • three quick questions...

is it the same (reference) fan on the 580 as it is on the 570?

i see that it goes up to like 55% on stock voltages, i'm guessing it's gonna be the temps not the noise that's gonna set a stop for the overclocking am i right?

    ... i can't remember the last question now :P

    anyways, appreciate all help :]

  • @kubuxx1551 oh the cat xDDDDDDD

  • nc cat!!!xD

  • the gtx 600 will be much better..

  • @thunderphil657

I guess that's why so many people water cool there GTX 480

  • linus what games do you play? razer naga=wow?

  • ive noticed that video card fans are starting to sound a lot like planes taking off.... 9400gt all the way!!!!!!! :D

  • the 580 is the smalest card of them all...ati is the fatt one !! and like all ati card all drivers fuck up !!

  • yeap..DEFINITEly can't wait til i've saved up enough for my 2 gtx580's in SLI :D giggidee giggidee!

  • @guitarplayernr1 Be care full, cats can conduct static :p

  • Why is this thing so big? :o

  • lol ur cat xD

  • all just sounds like white noise to me.

  • I use a headset when I play so I don't get why people are hung up on how quite their computers are. Mine could sound like a jet fighter so long as it didn't over heat. lol

  • while the 480 is a tornado here, the 580 is the big red spot on Jupiter
