Indeed. Paul drunk, stoned or whatever is just pure genius. God bless Paul McCartney. He can easily live another 20-30 years. IF there is a God he shall be so blessed.
BUT I am sorry... he really loved Linda because she sounds like a wailing baby seal in this tune. Linda really had no musical talent. But Paul was forgiving. Just as John was forgiving of Yoko. Such genius in the midest of not even mediocre talent. In actuality Linda and Yoko were just really really BAD! Love IS blind!
@boxcharles not only a better guitarist, but a better bassist, pianist, drummer, singer, songwriter, etc, etc. Paul was the musical genius of the Beatles. Why do you think there is no "psycodelical" stuff anymore in John solo music ? 'cause he hadn't Paul the musical freak 'play it all know it all' around. Remember when they asked John about if Ringo was the best drummer in the world and hi said "Ringo is not even the better drummer in the Beatles', guess who was the best drummer ?
It doesn't matter whether Linda could sing or not. She was Paul's true love...I bet they would still be together if she hadn't passed so soon....R.I.P. Linda
alguien que hable en español y me responda si hay varios videos diferentes de este recital, ya que veo son iguales pero la tocan diferente y aparte las tomas de las camaras son diferentes tambien
So what if Linda's not a good singer. She never said she was and she had no experience at all in music- she was a photographer- and only joined Wings because Paul wanted her to. She inspired some of the greatest love songs Paul ever wrote, took care of Paul and got him through hard times after the Beatles broke up, raised his kids to be good people and not spoiled, and did her job as keyboard player pretty good. Later her singing became quite nice on "I am our Singer" and Rupert the Bear songs
i think linda mccartney was fabulous: her singing may not have been as amazing as paul's but who's is? she wasn't necessarily bad, and good enough to hold an in-pitch tune. paul loved her deeply, she was the inspiration to many of his songs, and just a truly wonderful woman with her vegetarianism and over-all nature and animal loving personality. she contributed much to the world, so stop knocking her because of her singing. its really not even that bad. RIP linda
Paul wouldn´t have been Paul without Linda, so knock it off all of you - she was his inspiration and having her in the band kept them together and happy.
@donnys1girl, I too cringe - she really couldn't sing to save her life! And her pies tasted of cardboard - but, to be fair, I lived on them for the best part of a year...
@reving19 "Wings Over America" was obviously cleaned up to make her sound more in tune... The "dry" recording here here shows the difference between Paul's near perfect pitch and his wife. What a guy to let his his wife in the band when she clearly is not very talented musically.
Paul has everything...money, fame, recognition, prestige...everything but Jesus. "What shall it profit a man though he gain the whole world and yet lose his own soul?
I was AT this show.... Seattle Kingdome June 10, 1976... 3 days after I graduated ! Was FRONT ROW... literally RIGHT BEHIND the cameraman that filmed from the left side. Great stuff... entire Seattle show is on DVD called "Rockshow"... you can see me in the front row for a millionth of a second ! ;-)
@TacomaPaul You are VERY lucky to have ben there!! I have been able to see every concert since 1989 !!! I was 5 people away from the stage in Las Vegas- a dream come true !!!! Do you have any stories that you van share??
what is with the wierd racist yoko hate? are you people seriously saying linda had more talent than yoko?!?! yoko was a world renowned avant garde artist and her music influenced punk and new wave. what did linda do?
linda was an awesom photographer, great example to her children and husband. she had to teach herself keyboards and was thrown into playing in a rock band without prior experience. and did so very well. she was smart and funny and kind. yoko could write yes on a ceiling, scream in a bag and boss john around. just sayin'!
Not sure whether Linda had more talent than choko bonio, but one thing is for sure , she wasn't instrumental in splitting up The Beatles like the Jap bitch...yes that's racist, so fucking sue me !
ouch - could have done without those accompanying vocals but oh well, loved the performance and the song, despite each's imperfections. "them was the days" (PS the album version was far far better tho)
It was John's Lennon wife who sucked as a singer. She has no talent Linda played a mean keyboards, do you think this mega Star (paul) would put someone up on stage who could not paly or sing, no one in the band sucked
JPG&R were all better in the Beatles. They balanced each other, they were each other's best critics, there was no BS. When they became individual artists it was like the Emperor's New Clothes. That said McCartney was the most prolific as a tourer & recording artist. And Elvis Costello? Yeah sure but it's all hindsight isn't it? BTW Worst singer, Linda or Yoko?
There are subtle ways that the 'boss' lets you know he is the 'boss' and the way Macartney let Denny Lane (a successful songwriter and bandleader in his own right) know that he was boss was by calling him 'Dennis' at the start of this song. His name is Denny (as in Denny Lane) but Macartney insisted on patting him on the head (metaphorically) by calling him Dennins. Subtle but true....at least 'Dennis' didn't marry a one legged whore who had made a living screwing rich Arabs before she met him.
Allright then, Linda's a litlle off key but this only highlights the tune as like sitting round a campfire on a summernight.....who cares.....when everything else is fine
Wings was an excellent band but it scares me to think how they could have been phenomenal with a guy like elvis costello instead of linda in the band.
This was the best formation of THE WINGS, all were great ,DEnny Lane as orchestra man ,Jimmy Mc Coullough as lead guitar, JOe English in drums . This song is very beauty, an Paul in his best time as vocalist.
This formation was disolved by jealous from Paul agaisnt DEnny ...
maruan, I saw Paul McCartney last night in a concert in Liverpool Football ground, it was awsome to see him again, but he said this song is for Linda, I thought that was a great honor for his lost wife.
My daughter live's in Liverpool too now, so I have the pleasure of all the Beatle's place's
Beautiful song.....!!!!

I know I may get a lot of shit for this, (and I feel guilty for even thinking this) but I honestly think Paul was a better guitarist than John.
Hurts me to say that, because they are equal songwriters, John was one of the best.

And to add to Beatle wives vocals. I really like Yoko's vocals on "Sisters Oh Sisters" from the "Sometime in New York" album circ: 1972.. thats all..

This comment has received too many negative votes show
To 'donnys1girl'
From a musical point of view one has to agree
that her 'singing' is not quite 'with us' ...
But, Paul sure knew that and didn't mind.
And I'm sure he would have been happy to sing to her disharmonies to the end of his days!
( Hope his new love Nancy can stand the test like Linda did)
