@irishcas - yes, but not much, one of the two mares in the video i ride and the other just started a few months ago. the terrain here allows them to choose away from big stones in the road and walk on the soft side, so they move ok i think. there are no farriers here, so i had to find a local solution - thank you for your interest, i can see you have alot of knowledge
Thank you for sharing! Your experiment is inspiring. You keep showing mostly the hinds as they look great but you shown fronts only once and they have some large flares, so my question is; Are these horses ridden on regular basis and how moist is the soil?
@ElectricHorseman66 - hi electric, thanks for your comment, we have just started to ride the horses, i will ad more videos with all hooves all horses - have a nice day!
They have developed their very own mustang roll - very nice. Our horses, also on natural ground in a mountain setting, seem to have very little need of human intervention - I do some filing, but in general their hooves are quite healthy on their own - very lovely! Thank you for sharing
I think it's wonderful, I wonder how they can wear in such soft ground. Do you exercise them a great deal. I have 200 acres and my horses are turned out 24/7 yet their hooves grow so fast, they walk a lot.
@shunabell - an area of the paddock is very hilly and there they trim the most - no i dont exercise them very much at all, they walk themselves, typically i work 1-2 horses 2-3 times a week -
Do you ride these horses?

I'm really impressed with how beautiful your horses' hooves look and how the terrain seems to manage hoof care.

Hi Stina, so you never have to do anything to keep the hooves like this, not even file now and then?
